  1. Have couple questions if someone had the same case with ours.

My parents interview was last Sept 11. My mother is already ok but my father got 221(g). The USEM wants an NBI with AKA because my father's name registered in NSO is not the same of the name that is in my BC, my parents Marriage Contract so basically he never use the one registered in NSO in his whole life his case qualified for the RA9048 we already applied for this already on process we are just waiting to be changed in NSO.

Father NBI that was submitted is the same as the one in NSO, so USEM give then a white letter stating that they need to have to submit NBI with AKA. The NBI office took 20 days before they produce the AKA because got hit. My father just sent the NBI with AKA Sept 19 tru 2GO they said that the document by Monday. I am planning to call USEM Friday (Sept 25) for update.

    1. Anyone here had the same case lately? How long was the process before the USEM actually sent the visa?

    2. I checked my mother's case in this link: https://ceac.state.g...ker/Status.aspx it says ready since Sept 26. ( I will call the USEM this monday to check what is the update, why my mother never get the visa yet). I am assuming that this is waiting to my father's NBI with AKA.

I will post any updates once I got it.. Posting this for other's to benefit it if they have the same case in the future.

Please post if you have the same case lately.

  2. I think it's better that your parents have the same interview appointment. If by chance NVC schedules your parents interview before your dad is cleared with his medical, You can reschedule their interview. Register in ustraveldocs site & you will see the available interview dates. That's what I did. My parents couldn't make it to the interview date (April 4th) that NVC has scheduled, so I rescheduled it a month away (May 2nd).

    Hi let-it-be,

I have the same case with Aki.. My father already passed the medical with no problem but my mother needs to undergo the 3-days sputum smear test and wait for the result of the culture after 2 months. Their interview schedule is scheduled by NVC on July 10 and my father prefer to have their interview together with whenever my mother be scheduled.

I check the website http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph and select the immigrant button but I can't find anything where I can reschedule the interview. Your help will be appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Ness

  3. =( So that means she has to go back and forth to Philippines and attend all court hearings....=( meaning it would take more than a year for her to get that corrected.....I guess if thats the only option then what else can we do.....I pray to God and still hoping they would just accept that BC with affidavit.......

There's a new RA that was passed this year in the Philippines and I think change of gender is also included.. Meaning you can change it without going through court.. Check it out..

This blog might also be helpful: http://mastercitizen.wordpress.com/2011/08/31/how-to-correct-wrong-nso-birth-certificate-detail-errors/

  4. What do you mean you did not submit? was that your father's BC? It is not actually a requirement to submit your parents BC in the USCIS stage. You will have to do it at NVC though.. should be original/ certified civil docs of your parents and yours.

list of civil documents:1)original birth certificate-NSO issued for each of my parents. 2)original marriage certificate-NSO issued (2 originals). 3)copy of passport biographic page - that has name, dob & place of birth for each of my parents. 4)two passport photos - 2x2 colored for each of my parents. 5)original police clearance/certificate. 6)NBI clearance

as for the payment, you will have to wait for your case number to become available(20 days) and Pay the AOS fee of $88 for both, and $230 IV fee for each of them.

    Goodluck:-)

Yes, you are right in USCIS I only submitted my BC, my parents marriage certificate and my marriage certificate.. In these 3 documents the name of my father is the same "Tiatre".

When we asked for BC NSO copy of my father in NSO office the one that was registered was Ramon Tietre not Tiatre we have an affidavit stated that the two names are own by one person but if the affidavit is not acceptable in NVC we might need to do the same thing as what your father did.

In your case, the misspelled last name was also registered in NSO both yours and your father?

Thanks a lot for the itemized documents that you listed. This helps :)

  5. Hi carL♥tRin,

By the way thanks for the reply in my private message .:-)

I already got Noa2 from USCIS they are forward it to NVC. I think have same situation here. My father's name in my BC is Tiatre and in their marriage certificate the same also in my marriage certificate.

Most of his papers is using Tiatre but the NSO copy is Ramon Tiatre also in his passport.

How long it took for your father to get the certificate of finality from NSO? Did NSO officially change his name or just a paper stating that this 2 name are the same person?

I never get rfe from USCIS but I might in NVS, which I hope not. Just want to be prepared. Thanks for this post ..

    Hi VJe'rs

Does it necessary that we have the green card before we can get a job here in the US? or the Social Security Number is ok?

The passport VISA says it is a 551 (green card) for 12 months so you actually do have a'green card' as soon as you land in the USA - but it only lasts for 12 months - and if you hit problems 3 months after landing (say you dont receive your card) then you will need a lot of those remaining 9 months to fight with the USCIS to get a replacement

  8. Goodluck.. It took us around 10 mos in VSC and transfered to CSC and completed in 2 weeks.

It took us 17 mos to finally reunited.

Just have patient of waiting for sure u will get it soon.

    Have a great day.

    :help:

I need others feedback and help. My case has been pending for seven months now with no approval, denial or RFI. Every time I call I get BS stories about my case not being 6 months of business days, or some other excuse. I have finally came to the since that they have lost my case.

I contacted my local Congressman Peter Defazzio and they sent a e-mail to California Service Center. This was about a week ago no response yet.

I called USCIS Thursday and made a request for a service expedite on my case. The officer on the phone was trying to give me some BS excuse that I have to wait 30 days outside of the 6-month processing time. I called them on the 7th month from my petition being received May 19, 2007. I called them December 19, 2007 and had to argued with three different officers and one supervisor to get them to start a expedite service. I called them out on their BS excuses.

I’m at the point to just pack up and move to Colombia with my wife. But I know that it will be very challenging if I do. But my wife is very much feeling the same as me.

So my self and my wife have decided to give it until February to see some sort of decision or change. If not well then my Visa friends I have to pull out. I do not understand what is going on with these people at USCIS. But they have their ways of trying to wreak marriages.

God bless you all and please feel free to send your helpful replies. My wife is already showing signs of weakness from this process of waiting. I’m afraid to lose her. Our attorney suggested that I should take a break and go down there for one month to strengthen things up? My wife feels the same; we need energy and positive strength here.

    God bless every one. :help:

  9. Hi VJ'ers,

Sorry for the late post about my interview experienced last Dec. 05, 2007. I went to USEM around 5:30am thn get inside around 6:45am. Thn we went to the booth where my DS156 & 157 were submitted together with my appointment letter and passport. The lady in the booth gave me d number 073 (lol my lucky number).

Then i went back to my seat after 30 minutes of waiting my number flash on the screen and i went to the pre-screener, she collected my MC (i gave here our NSO copy of the civil wedding and the original copy of our church wedding), BC, proof of relationship (photos, cards, email, chat transcript and voice chat transcript). I offer her my CEMNAR but she said she don't need it. Before i told her that we have our CR1 scheduled interview on Dec 18, she asked me that i have CR1 also and if i want to process it on the same time..i said yes mam thanks..

She asked me the following questions:

My bday, my husband's name & bday, wat his work if he owns the house here, where did we met and when, how long have we been married, how old is he and how old i am..

It went smoothly in the Filipino pre-screener then she said that i will go back to seat and wait for my name to be called for the finger scanning. I waited again for about 30 mins. then my name was called in window 33 for the finger scanning then back to seat again. After 30 minutes i was called for the final interview in window 28 f i remember it correctly..

The consul was friendly i greeted him with a smile and i said good morning he said good morning too.. The consul look young in mid 30's i think. He said that he will only ask me few questions.. His questions were almost the same to what the pre-screener asked me. He look at the photos one by one and read the caption in it he smiled and told me that for sure Keith, my husband, loves me so much since we have 2 weddings and he even let his whole family come here in the Philippines during our church wedding hahaha i noded and smiled at him..He asked also if it does not hard for us that we are not in the same religion, since, Keith is a presbyterian and im a catholic.. i said that religion where never been the issue n our relationship since we believe in the same savior, Jesus Christ, he smiled again and after a few minutes of checking our documents he said congratulations ur approved. I said, thank you. And i ask if can i request for visa pick-up he said sure when u want to get the visa? I said does it ok on Friday? He said that he can't promise but he will try. Then after that i asked him if they did able to received Congressman Bartley's assistant (Ashley) email about the request for visa pick in our case..He laugh and said wow ur husband gets the congressman for the request and he said we will try on friday. Then i said thank you. He said ur welcome and told me to go to window 38 for further instructions.

When i went to window 38 they return to me my photos, cards, email and voice & chat transcipt and gave me a pink stub. I put thr my contact number and complete name and signed it. He gave me the other half and advised me to wait for a call for visa pick-up.

I got my visa Dec. 11, 2007 at window 33. They gave me the packet and instructed me not to open it, this will be needing in my Port of Entry.

I'm now finally with my Husband. I leave Philippines last Dec 12, 2007 6:40am. And my Port of Entry is in Detroit.. So far people there are so kind and I got no problem.

I hope that this experienced will help other members of this forum who are still not finish the journey.

yet another good reason to not hire an attorney

I don't know, there are a lot of positive points to having one, but you just can't always take what they tell you as absolute truth. I'm glad I've had one so far, it does make things less stressful. But if I had to do it again, knowing more about the whole process, I don't think I would pay for one again.

  13. Hi VJ'er,

Got approved from my interview this morning..:innocent::whistle: The pre screener and the consul was so friendly.. the entire process went smoothly.. I got my CR1 visa and they change my interview to CR1 instead of K3 that was supposedly assigned on this date. I'm so happy the consul grant our request for visa pick-up..

I will post the details of my interview whn i finally in the US.. My flight is on Dec 8. So hopefully USEM will call me 2moro to give me the date and time whn i possibly get the visa on friday.

Thanks again guys for all the HELP.. :luv: B)

Good Luck to those who have up coming interview..

Finally, I had a chance to write down my visa interview at US embassy in Manila last Nov. 21. Been very busy since I arrived US last Nov. 28. I just want to help others who are not yet done with the journey. Well, it is very easy, I am just paranoid with the result. lol

I went to my interview with my husband. We had a 8:30 am schedule but I told him to be there 2 hours before the appointment time since I read to some site that better to be early since its a case to case basis. We arrived in USEM 6:30 am of that day and as we are very lucky, no line outside and the guard asked for my appointment letter, and ID and my husband's passport and allowed us to go straight to the embassy premises. Scanned my purse and ourselves too. lol :D Advice us to go to the immigrant visa unit. Few people are there. The guard inside let us sat down for awhile. Then called me after 30 minutes fall in line in a window that I forgot, asked for my appointment letter and gave me my queue number for the whole interview process. It was 6062. Go back to my seat where my hubby is sitting too. lol :P After a few minutes, I heard my name called for finger scanning. I fall in line in window 32. I was the last one on the batch but the only one who did the finger scanning very clear. lol The lady from the window and the guy outside who is holding my fingers and pressing it are talking about hollywood actors. Hehehe. And after scanning all my fingers. lol The lady whose doing the computer stuff said that I did very good job. Hehehe. My fingers are not sweating. lol :P They advised me to go back to my seat and wait for my number to be flash on the queue board. I never get bored since hubby has a lot of story and it was all funny. lol But I got nervous as time passed by. Whew! I dont know whats wrong with me then that I am not talking and felt like I want to faint. lol My husband told me to relax and everything will be ok. Oh, glad I went there with him. Hay. My number flashed for window 22 (this is for the Filipino pre-screener ha?) Me and hubby went there holding my very cold hands. Obviously, I am nervous. I greet the lady "Good morning" while smiling of course. She didn't noticed that I am nervous. She replied with a good morning and a smile too. She asked my husband first if he is Mr. ____. Of course he said yes. She then asked my birthday. I saw her holding all the stuff that we sent to NVC. She let me sign the DS230 part II. She asked my husband when did he arrived in Manila and they talked like they were friends. lol She then asked me how me and hubby met. :) She is very nice. She asked me for all the proofs of our relationship that I gathered. I gave her our wedding pictures and pictures together, phone bills, money remittances, emails, chat logs (I just got one printed and she said its ok), cards and letters, cards and letters from my mom in law too. That's it. She gave back 2 copies of my husband's phone bill since I gave her 5 copies. lol She just told me that the Consul might ask for it. She then advised us to go back to our seat and wait for my number to be flash again for the Consul's interview. We are watching those who are having their interview with the Consul since we can see it. I noticed this Consul from window 42 who is always laughing and having a good time interviewing the applicants. I told my husband then that I wish he will be our Consul interviewer. AFter an hour or less waiting my number flashed on window 41. :( I am sad since I like to be in window 42. We went inside and this American Consul is busy doing and talking to somebody inside. I looked at my husband and gave mne a wink. ;) After doing his stuff, he went back to us and so we greeted him good morning. He greeted us back. He is nice and smiling face too. He looked at our papers and asked us to raise our hand and swear that our relationship is true. He then, asked me again where did we met and my birthday. He looked at my proofs and laughed with my pictures coz I made a scrapbook out of it. He said I make fun with the pictures. Hehehehe. Since I put lots of stickers and design it on my own taste. lol :P We are all laughing. My husband asked him from what state is he from and answered Chicago. They were talking like they were long lost friends. lol He then asked me what part of Florida is our place. *wink* of course, I knew it. Hehehehe. He then said, "ok guys, you are approved. Congratulations." As I heard those words, I felt good and very much happy. He told us to wait for my name to be called again for the visa delivery and giving back my stuff. My husband seemed so very excited and forgot to ask for a visa pick up. We went to window 38 and talked to the lady in the window for the visa pickup since we already had a confirmed flight on Nov. 28. She said that she dont have the right to decied with it and just told us that she will asked the Consul about it and wait for she will call us again. Seated and waited for about 5 minutes. She went back and called us and gave me a violet slip. Asked me to write my contact number and the person who will pickup the visa. SO that means we are approved on visa pickup too. We are both very happy. I asked her then, for how long it will take and she told me, she didnt know and it depends on how fast they will review my stuff. Oh my, I got nervous again coz I though we are on Administrative Review. Hay. But I am still happy coz the Consul told us we are approved. We left USEM around 10 am. We ate lunch at Rob and as we went back to our hotel room, my cellphone rang with inknown number. I answered it and shocked when the lady on the other line told me that my visa is ready for pickup on Friday, Nov 23 around 10 am at window 34. Yehey! I hugged my husband and gave him a sweet kiss. Finally, the long wait will be over. We went back Friday Nov. 23 and hand my violet slip at the guard and proceed to window 34. A guy inside get my slip and id and told me to wait for my name to be called. After 2 minutes, a lady called my name and handed me the brown sealed envelope and told me not to open it. Gave me the stuff for CFO stamping and gave me my passport with my visa on it. Yehey! Im very happy. All of our wait is worth it. We went to CFO for stamping after. No worries about the stamping since I am already done with my seminar. We went to our provibce for a vacation. Now with no worries and less hassle. lol

I am now here in Florida. I arrived last Nov. 28. I will never forget all the experience I had during the whole process. It made me a strong and positive person. Good luck to the rest who are still waiting. Just be patient and trust in our dear Lord, for He will never let us down. Good luck. :DHope this one would help. :)
