I think I feel good about the amount of evidence we sent. We have a birth certificate for our son born last year, 3 years of joint tax returns, home and auto insurance policies, a house deed and car deed with both our names, statements from a joint checking account, my benefits info from work showing her (and now son) as plan members, as well as a fair amount of pictures and a few affidavit letters. I also think we covered the time period pretty well - for the first year we were married she wasn't in the US yet, but we have pictures (including wedding pics) and plane tickets from that time. Then for '20-'23 we have the more "official" stuff I just mentioned. I know it takes a while to get a decision but man, that's crazy it can take that long just to acknowledge receipt. I guess we just buckle down for a nerve-wracking wait then.

Hello, We filed our I-751 for my wife back in September 2021, along with all the normal evidence of relationship as instructed. At the end of June 2023 we got a letter requesting evidence of relationship with a deadline of September 11. I thought it was odd but someone here pointed out it's likely a good sign as they are waiving the interview. I sent an updated packet and got confirmation that it was delivered a few days ago. Our case status on uscis says "initial request for evidence sent", I wonder if this will update to say they've received it or if we just have to wait until they make a final decision on our case. They don't want you to call unless it's been 60 days. Since that's after the deadline it would just feel better to see that status change to something like "we're reviewing your submission". Anyone else in this situation? Thanks, Burt

Hello, My wife got an RFE on her CR-1, which I guess isn't all that uncommon. However, what seems odd is that there is no mention of anything missing, only the whole list of suggested items to show we share a married life together, exactly the same as for the I-751. We were very meticulous and included all of that and more in our original packet, submitted Sept. 2021. For this next round we wouldn't really be able to provide anything additional, except for: birth certificate for our baby born last fall, and then more recent copies of the same stuff again (tax returns, insurance policies, etc). If I didn't know any better I would think they just lost our first packet or never looked at it. I found it odd also that a couple months ago her temporary green card was extended another 2 years to fall 2025. Could it be that they are just so far behind that they are not even reviewing packets and asking for evidence all over again? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks and best regards, Burt
