Just talked to NVC and they said exactly as it says from the email, that they are currently working on locating the approved petition.
She did say tho that we can ask NVC to recreate our petition since they take copies of everything.
We called USCIS and was just told the standard reply that it can take up to 90 days before they can do anything, if they still havent received it yet.
This is just the worst thing....
Yup 90 days. Quiet absurd!

I am in the situation. It's been almost 3 months, and no one seems to know. I keep getting the same standard emails from NVC, and USCIS is not providing a solution.
Do you guys have any updates regarding your case?
Same here. We try to contact USCIS and they told us to send email on nvcresearch but until now no response.

Heard back from NVCResearch today. Petition had been sent back to USCIS about 3 weeks after I received the NOA2 (no explanation given, although they did provide the date that it was sent back). The email from NVC said to direct further inquiries to USCIS, so I did... (would recommend the "do nothing" strategy on the phone to get through to a rep) - the folks were helpful both times I called (though I believe I went straight through to a Tier 2 Immigration Officer the first time). I was able to get some details about the transit back and forth. My petition was sent back to the NVC a few days ago, so hoping that it gets there soon and stays there and is processed as normal this time.
There are some threads on why this might occur - it tends to be a paperwork snafu where not everything is sent, the petition is improperly or not stamped, or information was missing from the petition and USCIS did not catch it (which I would guess is the rarest).
If you are in a similar situation, I would recommend talking to humans at both agencies to track it down. There is not much you can learn besides through those channels. Best of luck to everyone.

This is the response I got from NVCresearch
Dear Sir/Madam:
The National Visa Center (NVC) received your previous inquiry regarding the status of your visa petition. We reached out to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to locate your petition, but have not received a reply. We will provide more information as soon as USCIS replies.
Why do u think they haven't receive some of the petitions? We haven't received a response from them.
