  1. when i did my interview I was approved on the spot ( at the end she told me we were approved) for the conditional green card. I got my card 3 days later in the mail and status changed online immediately. Two years later, I was approved without interview to remove condition the 10 year card although this time the whole process took over a year instead of 8 months ( backlog i guess). I seen people wait very long it all vary. Dosne't hurt you to make an info pass

  2. USA allows DUAL citizenship in a way ( no policy) but your other country in your case Philippine has to allow it. I have no idea weather or not Philippine allows but after few seconds of quick research google states" The Philippine government does allow dual citizenship. However, you must go to the nearest Philippine consulate, fill out some paperwork announcing your dual citizenship, and then reapply for a new Philippine passport. The US government has no policy on on dual citizenship." This means you are allowed to hold both. If you are not sure why not call your consulate? I am Canadian and I will be getting my dual once I naturalized with USA. However if you are Chinese or from other country, China dose not allow dual so you can't dual.

"Nevertheless, U.S. practice, as upheld in various court decisions, is to allow dual citizenship. (You can see this on the U.S. State Department’s website, for example, where it explains that: “U.S. law does not . . . require a person to choose one citizenship or another.”)

The United States will not ask naturalizing citizens to take any steps to formally renounce the citizenship of their home country. Nor will it stop U.S. citizens from later adopting citizenship in another country – though if their intention is to give up U.S. citizenship, they can certainly do so. You may continue to vote in your home country, if it allows it.

All this does not mean that the U.S. will tolerate divided loyalties. Dual citizens must obey U.S. laws, uphold the U.S. Constitution, and in every other way adhere to the naturalization oath that they take. They are also required by the I.N.A. to carry their U.S. passport when leaving the U.S., and to present it upon reentry. (I.N.A. Section 215(b).)"

  3. I adjusted from f1 - opt in 2015 then to green card in 2016 in nyc. The whole process of filing to temp GC took 9 months but this was 3 years ago...not sure exactly what was filed it was too long ago. I will share with you the remaining process...

I married on opt and lawyer said it wasn't an issue. My husband purposed to me ( when i was on opt already) out of the blue was excited and my mom suggest we should just get marry in court first then tie the wedding later in the summer since wedding takes forever to plan. Since I am Canadian one of us had to marry in another country either way.   Married in Jan 2016, filed in Feb 2016. Got the bio metric appointment done and my EAD card within 3 months I would say.. * i did stop working after I got married legally while waiting for my EAD* Then I got my interview notice in the summer and my interview in September. I was approved on the spot green card mail 3 days later. We provided ( some was submitted some was brought to the interview ( huge binder))

    1) marriage document

    2) joint title on house ( not a normal case for college student but rent lease would do)

    3) joint utility/ insurance ( health/life/etc)

    4) joint bank account / credit card

    5) photos together ( parents / furbabies included)

    6) wedding planner receipt ./ engagement ring receipt/ wedding dress/ cake etc

    7) joint tax return

8 ) screen shots of social media posts together celebrating / plane ticket vising each other etc

My husband is 5 years older so he sponsored me since he had a full time decent job. At the interview the officer said we were basically approved already she just had to do the process. She mainly chatted with us and wanted to know our story like a friend. She asked us how we met ( in video game), where we are heading next after this, life plan mainly. She told me I got approved again at the end and good luck to me. Got my card 3 days after I left the office. She did ask me to recall his legal name which was very long ( 4 name maiden name) my in law b-day , their names etc in the very beginning.

As long as your marriage is real there is nothing to fear, you can marry on opt I did it. I just got my notice today for my "permanent" green card and my i751 was approved, no interview either. Submitting my naturalization application end of the month. Good luck let me know if you need any insight.

  4. I just updated the google doc,

I filed sometime in June ( no idea exactly when attorney applied)
     06/25/2018
USCIS received it ( for the longest time I could not track my case it was non existence according to online)

07/05.2018 -extension letter  Notice of Action.

     3/09/2019 waived my Bio-metric .

5/11/2019 Transferred from CA to Nebraska Service Center.

6/17/2019 ( came back from a road trip to Canada) letter in mail approval

went online: " On June 17, 2019, the Post Office picked up mail containing your new card for XXXX..We mailed your card to the address you gave us. The tracking basically states that I will be getting mine this Wednesday and USPS already picked it up.

I hope that helps everyone. We did apply for nexus card to Canada ( since I am Canadian from Vancouver) and we both have been approved in Jan 2019 not sure if that did anything to our case. Also we applied from Seattle WA for removal and  the 2 year card was applied in NYC. Canadian student married to american adjusted status on opt got 2 year conditional green card now removal is done. Lawyer is preparing my neutralization status as we speak since he thought I would neutralized before getting this green card LOL. He also told me all his clients had interview recently so he expected the same for me, guess not anymore :3 GOOD LUCK everyone!

We submitted a lot of materials.

    1) photos from trips , dogs etc for xmas card

    2) active joint bank account/ credit card

    3) insurances joint

    4) joint bills

    5) joint titles house and car

    6) joint tax returns etc

  5. Hey Guys

I am new , I just wanted to let you guys know I have also been approved just today for my 10 year green card and i751. I filed in June ( not sure exact date lawyer sent it off) they received on 06/25/2018 and there was no interview asked. They also skipped my bio-metric letting me know that they were using my old ones on 3/09/2019 . Then the next letter I got was that my case was transferred   from CA to on 5/11/2019 to Nebraska Service Center. We thought we weren't going to hear from them for another year or so. Our attorney let us know that everyone he filed for has had interview and we will not be exempt under this administration. To my surprsies... my husband came into the house and told me i got approved. I was confused and I had to track my case online to confirm it. It stated that " On June 17, 2019, the Post Office picked up mail containing your new card for XXXX..We mailed your card to the address you gave us. The tracking basically states that I will be getting mine this Wednesday and USPS already picked it up. I hope that helps everyone. We did apply for nexus card to Canada ( since I am Canadian from Vancouver) and we both have been approved in Jan 2019 not sure if that did anything to our case. We submitted a lot of materials.

    1) photos from trips , dogs etc for xmas card

    2) active joint bank account/ credit card

    3) insurances joint

    4) joint bills

    5) joint titles house and car

    6) joint tax returns etc

I know there are people stating all interview are mandatory , clearly it is not the case.

I have already prepared for my neutralization application with my attorney since we thought I would be neutralized before getting this green card lol.. YAY now i can wait in peace and get ride of that wrinkly extension letter i been holding on for dear life. If it helps during our first conditional green card the officer who interviewed us said we were already approved on paper she just needed to do the interview for the process. She approved on the spot in nyc it was fairly quick and she just chatted with us about future plans.
