  1. Hello! We are June filers as well.

Haven't recieved the biometrics appointment though it's been 2 weeks since we recieved the NOA. And we can't check the case status online (MSCxxxxxxxxxx). I desperately need the EAD ASAP since I have a job lined up waiting for me to have a permit. Just have to keep playing this waiting game I guess. I am worried that we haven't recieved the biometrics appointment letter, as I see lots of folks here get it within a couple of days of their NOAs.

Please add us to the list. These dates are both for the EAD and the AOS:

Date filed: June 9 Date Recieved: June 12 NOA 1: June 17 Biometrics Appointment: Still waiting for Appointment

    Thanks!

  2. Hi Guys,

After a long stressful wait we have recieved our approvals!!! I was in the mountains with no cell phone signal and miracoulously had half a bar, enough to get my husbands message to call him back for some great news.

I hope everyone else that is waiting gets their approval soon, especially Nita and Assad. We've ALL suffered a lot with this process and it simply sucks.

  3. Hi Guys,

my husband just called the RFE line. NOW he is told that both our I-130 and I-129F are going to be looked at and that they would be both forwarded to NVC. (I know that the I-130 is supposed to stay at USCIS, but that's what he said).

ANYWAYS, my question is this: The officer told my husband that my "alien number" is an eight-digit number. It doesn't start with an "A", but he said it is my alien number. What is this number? Does it mean anything? It is not on any of our NOA-1s.

    Thanks.

  4. Hey guys,

I was taking a break from VJ and obsesively checking USCIS. We are still waiting as well. The senator/congressmen reps came back to us with the same info we heard from CSC officer rep: Our case has been assigned an adjucating officer. Thing is, it's been in his hands for a month now. Maybe we are stuck in security checks, I don't know.

Also, we recieved a letter from one of the reps saying they were told our "I129F was administratively closed".

Nita, I can't believe you are still waiting. That is so unfair. :(

  5. AJS,

you are not alone. We are also still waiting. Our congressmen & senators have been enquiring for us, but USCIS doesn't respond to them either. All they say is that we are with an "adjucation officer" but that has been their story since the 27th of Jan...and still nothing. If we do have an RFE, we would like to know to send them the information ASAP, but there is NOTHING!!! This is so frustrating...so many aspects of our lives revolve around this approval, and we have many things on hold becasue of it. Sorry to vent...

So, no, you are not alone. (see our timeline below). -mary

  6. Hey guys!! I am writing to you from beautiful McAllen, Texas. My POE was Houston Intl Airport, and it was a breeze! The agent was very nice. He asked "What brings you to the U.S."'; Me: "I'm attending a conference where I present the findings of my thesis"; Agent: "Oh, what was your thesis about?". While he asked this he was already wrting on my Customs form and typing on the keyboard. So I told him about my thesis, and he said it sounded interesting. He then asked me to place my index finger on the thingy, and then to look into the camera. Something he did that was interesting to me was that he scanned my visa, not my passport. I have an old passport that has the visa in it, he didn't do anything with the new passport. Anyways, he even chit-chatted with me about my thesis/field. And that was it, stamped for 3 months on B1 status. It took less than 5 minutes. I want to thank mikeandlani and mateo for the support. You are right, you just have to be confident and straightforward with them. Oh, and another thing, he didnt ask to see any documentation, not regarding employment or regarding the conference. But I am so happy I had those papers with me, I am sure they helped boost mty confidence. Sorry I didnt write early, things at the conference are crazy! So busy! And I'm so excited, my husband is flying in tonight, his plane should land in about 30 minutes! Yeah!!! :)

  7. I've come to believe it really isn't much help. Everytime my husband called they said it wasn't assigned to an ajucator yet. Last time he called they were RUDE to him and said it has been assigned, but no approval or RFE since then and it's been a week. I don't know how long it's suppose to take once it's in the hands of an adjucating officer.

I am very skeptical to what they say on the RFE lines...just take VJer Mateo as an example. He called and was told that he wasn't even asigned an adjuactor yet; and then that evening he was approved! I think they have no idea what they are talking about most of the time.

They also always say things like 'call in 2 weeks', 'don't call for another month', 'your case should be approved soon', 'be patient' (that one pisses me off the most), blah, blah, blah.

Sorry, just so tired of all of this. Stupid K3 cancellation really screwed us over...If we'd only gone for I130 we probably would have been approved by now.

  8. Congratulations on your approvals, but you guys are K1's so your timelines aren't comparable to K3s and IR-1/CR-1.

I would be very happy if there were any September approvals for IR-1/CR-1/K3, but it would also make me very confused, irritated and upset. Sorry, I've just been waiting for so long to be reunited with my husband and we keep encountring obstacles. And I know my case isn't as complicated as many folks here on VJ. There are folks from May still waiting! #######!!??? I would really need an explanation because I wouldn't understand.

I truely am happy for all the VSC folks, it seems this service center is working faster than CSC, I wonder if they are recieving less applications, or are just more efficient?

  9. Hello Nita,

I can't imagine your anguish right now. I don't want to add to your confusion, but the K3 is suppose to reunite you with your husband quicker...BUT...we all know that dealing with USCIS is hell. If they already cancelled it, what makes you think that reopening the case isn't going to cause problems and further delays? The lady you talked to seemed to sympathetic, but not enough to call you back. I'd say stick with the I-130, trying to reopen the K3 might delay it longer and you have no guarantees that it will in fact be quicker. I know you just want to get him home ASAP, but I am so skeptical, and dissilusioned with dealing with USCIS. I hope this gets resolved soon.
