  1. Don't worry too much about your interview. As long that you come prepared it will come easy to you.Well, I was told the same thing before my interview and still I wasn't able to sleep too :).Guess you can just catch up on your sleep after the interview like I did :)

  2. Hey, mabu-hey ang Manila thread!!! I'm so touched that some of our members still remember me  [blush]

I do visit our thread once in a while. I tried to invite newcomers to our famous waiting list but only one or two replied. Newcomers seem to want to make their own thread so I just left it at that. I also noticed that there is another member from Manila named "patiently waiting" (my VJ name is PatientlyWaiting) so I was confused for a while there. I thought someone had hijacked my name :star: .

All is well with me. We finally moved to our own house in February. I got busy painting, furnishing and decorating the house and we still have a long way to go. I received my green card back in November. Doug signed an Affidavit of Support and he has no choice but to support me while I take my sweet time in finding work hehehe. Son is doing really well in school. He is in the high school honor roll. I hope he is able to maintain his grades.

It's nice to see that Roy and Yazi, Sheriff Uling, David-Mae Forever, KC_MP are still active. Where is the ever kikay LuzyC? And I see that Danoco, after keeping his silence for more than a year, has popped in.

Here's hoping that our thread will start being active again  It's nice to talk/write to all of you again.

    Cheers!

    Ate Cora (PW)

Hello Ate Cora...it's so nice to hear from you  . Good to know you're just around, silently lurking among us :):). There are so many newcomers now and they're indeed very busy making their own threads. I tried answering some of their questions but no one beats the wisdom of Ate Cora when I was the one asking some of those questions

Congratulations to the green card, new house and the good things that has been going your way.Don't inhale too much paint

  3. Yes, you need to be ready your Emails, chat logs cards and others proof of relationships to your fiance/fiancee.. some consul will asking all of that. but mine they only ask Tax return and Affidavit of support and pictures together with my fiance.

Gudluck and Godbless to your Interview

I mean... will they have that stuff and not return em to you?

I prepare quite a bit and those cards and postcards my fiance has been sending for 7 yrs are too cute to lose~ Haw haw

They only scanned through the cards, letters and pictures that I brought with me during my interview. The Consular officer returned them to me after my interview and was told they already had enough from my file.More likely, it will be returned to you after the interview.

  4. If you like to shop for cloth - go to TJ Max, Ross or similar store.. they have a reasonable price-good stuff.

and dont forget to add tax in the price you see..

Now you also can start your own garden! herbs and vegetables.. especially mint, basil, cilantro and persley.. I alsways need a little of those but have to buy big bunch which go to waste.

Thanks for the idea of just planting herbs and vegetables esp that the weather is good nowadays :). I also end up buying big bunch of those when I only need few stems :(

  5. Try not to make him feel like a ####### if he can't buy you a shirt or pair of jeans that you want.

well, so far i only bought socks since I got here. I bought more than enough clothes to last me a year....hopefully :)

  6. I recommend cutting on what isn't needed.

Phone: get Voip instead of a cellphone

TV: get Netflix instead of paying $100 for channels

Books: borrow from your local library.

Food: Cook, never buy any packaged or processed foods. It is cheaper to cook from scratch and healthier. Buy rudimentary ingredients on sale (like pasta, eggs and such).

And clip coupons! There is nothing wrong in using coupons, the savings do add up!

Buy in bulk if possible, especially for non perishable items like tissue and toilet papers.

Yes, I'm a frequent visitor of libraries here and just borrow my reading materials from them....I was wondering how coupons work.I kept seeing them on sunday newspapers but I'm not sure how to use them. Are they accepted on all grocery stores?....I also notice that stores usually sell items by packs and sometimes I only need 1 or 2 pcs so I sometimes end up buying more than what I need :(

I was going to suggest Costco but then realized that I spend $200 every time I go there.

Great deals if you're disciplined, tho.

Yes, i learned that when shopping discipline is a must :)

  7. I'm also missing the ever helpful Ate Cora :crying:

hope your AOS is going smoothly. PW :star: was a great help to many in this thread.

Thanks. We just sent in our AOS and I'm praying that it will be an easy process.....Yes, Ate Cora was a great help.Wish she would visit us here every now and then :)
