My husband and I got married in Feb 2019 and moved to NZ. We are now wanting to move back to my home and build a life there! So we are working on getting him a Spouse Visa so we can move!

  1. Just wanted to say thanks so much to this community! It’s been a HUGE help throughout this visa process. I will always refer people here if they’re going through any visa process. Such a great community with lots of helpful advice and people! 😁

  2. My husband had his interview today and it went well! He was told he got the visa, but we’ll have to wait about 2 weeks to get his passport back. The interviewer suggested he wait til December to fly to the US. We’ve been apart for long and we really don’t want to wait til December. I have tried looking for answers as to why he would need to wait as there’s flights flying from NZ to the US every week and Spousal Visas are an exception to the Presidential Proclamation made earlier this year. Anyone have insight to this? I will be reaching out to the US embassy, but just thought someone here might have answers. Appreciate the help!
  3. My husband has his IR-1 visa interview on September 30th, 2020 at the US embassy in Auckland, NZ. I'm just wondering how long is the usual wait time to hear if the visa has been approved? I've tried searching for other threads with this info but can't seem to find one. Also, once he gets it approved can he travel to the US? Any help is appreciated! Hoping and praying everything goes smooth!
  4. Interesting, yea they just said what I uploaded wasn't valid and that I needed to upload a valid Police Certificate. Someone said they just marked the Police Certificate as an unavailable document and in the comment section said that it was sent directly to the embassy. I'm trying that now to see if it works.
  5. So I ended up doing this and it got rejected. Any other advice on what to upload for the Police Certificate?
  6. I am in the NVC process and pretty much all my documents have been accepted except for the police certificate! My husband, who we got the police certificate for, is from NEW ZEALAND and they sent the police certificate straight to the embassy, so we don't receive anything but an email confirming the police have sent the info to the embassy. So my question is WHAT IN THE WORLD DO I UPLOAD?? I read somewhere that they uploaded the confirmation email, I tried that and it didn't work. I have absolutely no idea what to do. Any help is appreciated!
  7. This was so helpful! I was wondering what to do as well...
