    Ok.

It only says “issued” once the visa is actually printed. That is anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks for most embassies for routine approvals.

NEVER make concrete decisions like that until the visa is physically in your hands. Even if they tell you you are approved many things can happen. AP is open ended. You could be in AP for months (although I hope it doesn't take that long) but we have certainly seen it often where AP is longer than anticipated.

There are even cases where the wrong information was printed on the visa so the applicant had to send it back which further delayed the process.

You should have really waited until you received the visa in person and can physically check it for accuracy. It is advised by us and US immigration not to do these type of things until then.

They do actually tell you this in the instructions for DV selectees that your selection letter linked to.

It is important that you do not make arrangements such as selling your house, car or property, resigning from your job or making non-refundable flight or other travel arrangements until you have received your immigrant visa.

Anyway, from everything you’ve said I think this is just the “routine” AP every case goes onto between interview and issuance (would ease so many people’s minds if they had another status to use for approved cases, like “approval in progress” or something) and you’ll probably get your visa soon.

It is rare, but visas can be denied during administrative processing.......Hopefully, you will see "issued" soon.

I don't think the CAEC changes to "Issued" until after the visa is affixed and on its way to you.  Considering what you received, hopefully your AP will be short, some folks spends months in AP.

    Good Luck!

Thanks. Its Really Frustrating. I quit my job thinking it was over. all i can do is hope for the best.

Nothing to be confused about. Everybody goes through administrative processing. It means they are working on it.

Its Just that i Expected to See "Issued"...and it scared the hell outta me when i saw the AP  with the time for the DV 2019 running out and all.

It always says that, before approval too.

What was in the yellow and white paper?

Administrative processing is common after the interview.  The consulates have to do the work to actually place the visa in the passport (administrative processing).  Did the papers you received after the interview request any further information?  If not, all you can do is wait.

    Good Luck!

    - The White Paper Says "Congratulations your Visa Has Been Approved!" And Instructions on how to receive the Visa from the Courier.

    - The Yellow Paper is an Instruction on How to pay the Immigration Fee on The USCIS Site.

I thought the CEAC Site was supposed to say "Issued"for Approved Visas?

  6. Hi Guys,

My Interview was last week on June 20, and it was really good. I had all the required documents with me. The CO told me that he has approved my visa and handed me a Yellow and White papers. He told me i should pay an Immigration fee before travelling to the US and that my Visa will arrive after a week. But when I checked the CEAC Site, it says that My case is on Administrative processing. I'm really confused guys. Please Help.
