  1. In Ohio, they force convicted offenders to display a special red on yellow license plate on their vehicle so all other drivers can point fingers. You'd be surprised how many young drivers look at it as a status tag instead of an embarrassment.

We have the same program in El Paso...

  2. I have gathered all of the usual stuff(listed in the AOS help section) which is forms, photo's vaccination record by uscis recognized physician and so forth. Do I need to send relationship proof with this or do I save it for the interview when filing for AOS. I am not really sure and do not want to send it in if it is not needed or desired at this point. Thanks for your help.

  3. Any ideas on how the feds are going to make up for the loss in tax revenue from those who have taxes taken out of their checks and never get refunds?

Won't be a problem. Illegal aliens are a net burden fiscally. The fewer there are, the better. Always remember that.

Sounds like we can use that money we saved from supporting them to a different area...

  4. where is the option for the second question for "not sure" ??

Marilyn - you live in SoCal, you see them every day, trust me.

I know a few, and I don't live in cal... and why that 'you see them every day, trust me', are you afraid of them? are they gonna try to rob you, kill you or offer you some dope?

They're gonna take her job at mcdonalds.

This poll is severly flawed and only serves the purpose of the inventor...that said...allow the person to stay until the case is over, put away the wife beater and eject the illegal from the country...nuff said...

  5. It is pretty simple, I do not understand all the disagreeing...try the teacher for her sexual misconduct and then deport the kid and his family. If ICE was smart, they would use the family to find the other illegals in the community. Just one question, how the he!! did the kid enroll in school. We have to many systems in place with different ideas. Seems like the school officials should be tried as well for allowing illegals to soak up our tax dollars...but then again, it will never happen because the kid was a victim...shame on us for wasting millions of dollars to construct laws only to not enforce them...oh well.

  6. It is my understanding that you have to file married -- question is whether to file jointly or separately. If you file jointly, then of course you claim her as a deduction. Now, if she worked in her home country earlier this year, and you file jointly, you need to have evidence that she earned less than some significant amount of money (it annualizes to something like $80,000) so that you can exclude her foreign income from your taxes this year.

You may want to study IRS form F2555-EZ and figure out your approach to it.

Thanks, I feel that I should just go see a tax advisor, I just do not want to pay for it yet...

  7. OUt of curiosity, has anyone noticed people seem to have different personalities when they speak in different languages? My husband fluently speaks 4 languages, and I swear he is a different person in each!

i speak spanish and english, and i have been told that in spanish I am sweet and nurturing, and in english I am sarcastic and the tone of my voice is lower... i wonder how that works.

Don't mind it at all...the only thing I get pissed about is when I go to Burger King and have to point at the menu...living in El Paso has got me notorously used to that and I hate it...

  8. I guess they have to say (after declaring "jihad" against Pakistani military--and giving the latter a free-hand to "encounter" their members, plus collateral unaffiliated opponents of Musharraf) "we ain't as stupid as Mush thinks".

Wow...I am scared now...yeah right...run terrorist and may you all encounter death soon...

  9. Thanks guys! Interview went "swimmingly" as Dan said! Approved and all - should have it in hand within the week. We're hoping he gets it before the weekend so he can fly over on Sunday. Looks like we'll make the August 11 wedding after much, much stressing about it!!! Thanks for all the support from you all. I don't know how people go through this process without it.

Congrats and I hope you guys have a great wedding...lets see some wedding pictures when you are finished...I will post some...

  10. just send them home...let our economy collapse...

Shame on you for wishing economic collapse on your fellow citizens.

Honestly I don't think it will cause our economy to collapse...but it seems to be the pro illegal immigration...or amnesty seekers...

  11. Interesting read, especially how opportunities like home ownership seem to drive people to get ITINs.

As long as they're here, it's in everyones best interests that they not be forced to live underground. Their participation in our economy is a good thing.

Which dispels the myth that they're presence here is like that of a leech.

If you keep them underground, then yes - they're more leachlike. But let them deposit their money in our financial institutions, let them take advantage of many of the fine financial products our economy has to offer, and they become contributors - not leeches. When one person produces and another consumes, both benefit.

All this article is saying is, make it easier for them to produce and consume - iow, embrace them, don't vilify them.

Even a better idea comes to mind...instead of forcing them underground or letting them live as normal "Americans" do, just send them home...let our economy collapse...we let this get out of control and sooner or later there is going to have to be a stop to it...although it can't be completely stopped, illegal immigration is not good. Just live in El Paso, where the vehicle accidents with "no insurance" are triple that of nonborder cities. The Home Depot is never empty of potential "cheap labor". Sorry, but i am very bitter about living here. I really did not care about it before, however living here has opened my eyes to the real world that we live in.

  12. do you know this as a fact? Seems like Nike is giving him a chance at proving his innocence.

Perhaps, but he is losing facetime in 3 places...even the Atlanta Falcons website.

    --------------

Donruss, one of four major trading card companies, has decided to pull Vick's card from any future 2007 releases, according to Beckett Media, which covers the collectibles industry.

    ...

The Humane Society of the United States said the companies couldn't ignore the overwhelming opposition to having any association with Vick. He said some 165,000 e-mails were sent to Nike through the group's Web site.

    ...

Although Reebok does not have a business relationship with Vick, the Massachusetts-based company serves as the official supplier of apparel and equipment to all 32 NFL teams. Through that deal, it holds the coveted rights to sell jerseys at the retail level.

"We just find the allegations very upsetting and very disturbing," Reebok spokeswoman Denise Kaigler said. "While this is just the beginning of the legal process and we know that it has to have time to run its course, we felt that making this decision now was important and the right things to do."

Kaigler said she already had received numerous e-mails in support of the decision. Even though numerous NFL players have run afoul of the law, this is the first time Reebok has stopped sales of an individual jersey.

    ----------------------

Endorsement deals can be worth millions to players. Still in place is Vick's deal with Nike, whose worth has not been disclosed. The company declined to comment Wednesday beyond saying it is aware of the indictment and is "reviewing the information."

"Nike is in the toughest position," said Paul Swangard, managing director of the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center at the University of Oregon.

Several experts speculated that Nike will refrain from airing Vick commercials for the time being.

On the Falcons' official Web site, redesigned this month, Vick has gone from face-of-the-franchise to all but faceless.

The front page of the site the past two days has featured, at various times, prominent photos of players Warrick Dunn, Lawyer Milloy, Alge Crumpler and rookie Laurent Robinson — but not Vick.

Bottom line here is that he represents Nike, yet the perception is that he did it...and that perception is reality to the consumers...and that may tarnish their reputation and cause consumers to look at other products...simple really, I know if I owned Nike I would drop him, just like Donruss and Topps trading cards did...

  13. Maybe someone can explain to me what "spousal support" means in this context.

"He must keep writing the checks, $1,250 a month, to his ex-wife"

Why? Do they have children together?

If not, how long is a man expected to support his EX-wife?

Does she not have a job? And if she had a job, would he still have to keep paying her?

From my experience of divorce, it's based on where the two spouses were in terms of career and finances prior to the marriage and then at the end of the marriage. That is an awful lot of money for alimony.

Wow...I thought 300 a month was bad...but 1250, give me a break...spousal support is really unfair and should not exist. Why should I have to pay a woman money, just to get rid of her and her antics...baffles me, but atleast it is tax deductible...
