  1. Hi all!

I got an AOS interview date through for myself (K1) and my daughter (K2) for September, but we have different times... I had assumed that we would go in together for just one interview, but then what do I know!!!

Anyway, my question is, what do they ask the K2 applicant? My daughter is only 4 years old... will they just be going through her paperwork? I just want to be prepared lol!

    Thanks for looking x

  2. HOOOOOOORAY!!!!!! I just got my email that EAD card production was ordered!!!! I'm seriously nearly about to cry I'm so excited! This simplies soo much the transition from my H1-B to GC. HOOOORAAAAAAY!

I hope other June filers have some good news this week as well. :)

    Hey there and congratulations!!!!

Got some more good news today... seems they updated their website and it now shows that my I131 and I765 were approved last week!!!! Things seem to be moving fast round here lol!!!

  3. Hi all!

I'm a June filer too. I've been checking my status online on and off and nothing had changed since I filed, so I was kind of surprised when I opened my mail just now and found that I have an interview date for the 18th September!!! My daughter (who is 4) also has an interview an hour before mine... I thought we would all be going in together!!! Shows how much I know

  4. I will begin the process of informing the relevant people that her name has been changed at the same time as mine - after the wedding. I was told on the phone by the deed poll people that I need to actually obtain the document while I am still living in this country, so I have less than 6 weeks to do so.

And you are assuming that I have not discussed this with her? Obviously I have or I would not be doing this. If she did not want to change her name then I would not be changing mine.

  5. I'll be changing my name on the passport once the AOS is completed I guess, for all other purposes straight away. As for what the rush is, like I said I want her new name to be in place (and her used to using it) for the Autumn.

  6. Evening all!

I want to change my daughters' surname by deed poll, so that when I get married we all have the same surname. I'm going to do it here before I go, but was wondering how much sway an English deed poll form will have in the States? My daughter will be starting kindergarten in the autumn so would like her to start with her new name, but I'm not sure if changing her passport will be a good idea when we'll be undergoing AOS obviously after the wedding!

Anyone have any ideas on how best to go about this?

  7. Ditto to what others have said! I took a few print outs of phone records, emails, messenger chats as well as photos from Christmas etc but they didn't ask to see any of it! Bet if I hadn't taken they would've asked though ;)

  8. I've never learnt to drive over here either... I guess I'm just lazy as I always knew people with cars and lived near good bus routes lol! But I'm going to learn in the States... Jeff said he's going to take me to a big field and show me in his truck!!! It's one of those massive Ford trucks and is his pride and joy so I'm going to be p**ing my pants in case I hurt it LOL!

  9. Hey there does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get the visa after approval from the Embassy courier service.

I had my medical 16th January , interview 17th January, however still no visa delivered.

Any ideas if its coming tomorrow ? heres hoping :clock:

Sorry just would like to order some plane tickets asap.

    Thanks for any advice

    Hi Shadow,

I had mine on the 17th as well, and got a text on Friday to say it would arrive on Monday. Best bet is to phone the SMS number you have on the receipt you got from the Embassy.

  10. Hey there, and good luck for your journey! Me and Jeff decided today that he's going to book flights for the 7th March but it's not been confirmed as yet. Now that everything is more concrete, I've realised how much we have still to do in terms of closing down the house etc... plus, now we have a date (ish!) all my friends are crying down the phone to me! :crying:

  11. I had a text on Friday to say that the visa would be delivered this morning before 10 as arranged... I was watching the clock repeatedly (like at school!) and 10 o'clock came and went. I phoned the number on the receipt I got from the courier and they said he had been delayed due to the weather (it was bucketing down), and that they would reimburse the extra money I had paid to get it early. He finally turned up at 1o'clock and I felt like it was Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one lol! I can't believe we finally have it after all this wait... it feels fantastic! We're planning to fly out the first week of March which gives me some time to start packing the house down and selling stuff... I don't think I've stopped smiling all day!!!
