  1. Hey all, starting to get a bit worried here. I sent my I-751 packet to the AZ address back on March 25th. My GC expires April 28th and I still don’t have a receipt notice.

What are my best steps here? Send a copy of the packet again, wait it out? I’m really worried somethings happened and they haven’t got my packet. Foolishly I never sent it with tracking.

    help!

We're in the same boat, only we didn't even get my husbands education in to be equivocated. We're just going to included scanned copies of his GCSE's and A levels. Then in the additional info tell them that due to the shelter in place rules because of coronavirus we cant get them in to be equivocated.  Hopefully they can understand that. We'll get his stuff equivocated for the interview.

Yeah I think that’s what’s gonna have to happen. It’s an absolute nightmare.
have you had any luck with credit score proof or letters saying you don’t have?

  3. Last week I submitted my university transcripts from Scotland to ECE for the education equivalency part of form I-944. This morning I got an email from them stating due to Wisconsin’s safer at home order all operations are suspended. I am now worrying I won’t have the documents ready to send away by April 7th which is my final day. If I don’t get them is it worth me sending the package away with the email attached and wait for an RFE? What’s the best course of action here?

    Hi everyone,

We submitted my wife's i-485 using the OLD i-485 (the 07/15/2019 edition), and it was received on March 3rd. So we missed the 2/24 deadline.

We also haven't received the i-797 receipt (rejection notice) yet.

Should I just fill out another i-485 and send it out ASAP? Is there a need to receive the rejection notice first??

    Thanks!

Should it be the 10/15/2019 edition we use?

So, this number has no one answering it, it's no different than just going to the website.

I did call TransUnion today for some advice. At first they did offer to send a paper letter stating that my wife does not have a SSN and therefore has no credit history here. However, it turns out she DOES have a credit score here, they are going to send me a letter with the report and score.

How did you get through to TransUnion? I’ve really been struggling to get through to a human and I’m going through pretty much the same issue as yourselves.

  6. So my interview went great the interviewing officer was really relaxed and asked a few questions. However I only had a copy of my birth certificate and they need the original. The chap said I need to get the details for sending an original document by courier to the embassy however I can’t find any info on it. I put in an inquiry thing through email on the website but it can often be slow. Does anyone know the procedure for this? I’m dying to get that damn visa!

  7. So I’m not sure if I messed up, my medical is all scheduled for Oct 4th and I was looking through the embassy website and found you could schedule your interview. So I figured I would book it for Oct 28th as that’s plenty time after the medical and it makes it do able for me to travel up and down to London. The embassy didn’t give me a interview date, is this an ok way to go about it or have I messed up?

I assume you're a UK citizen and using ESTA to enter the USA? Proof of a return flight is a requirement, so its not necessarily amazing evidence that you plan to return home. Often (bizarrely) return flights are cheaper than one-way flights (I like many actually therefore bought a return flight when I did eventually move to the USA for good).

I'd be surprised if you have any problems assuming you haven't spent too much time in the USA prior to the trip, and the trip isn't for a very long duration (I assume it isn't if you're going to be 5-6 weeks after NOA2). I'd be most worried about fitting your medical and interview around it!

If you think about it from the USCIS border officer's point of view, its very unlikely you're going to overstay or get married during the trip when you're this far into doing the k1. If you have interview/medical arranged by the time of your trip bring evidence of that along too. It would make absolutely no sense to get this far, have those all arranged, and then decide to stay in the USA without completing the k1 process. The normal advice is don't mention anything about a fiancee and k1 unless asked about who you are visiting and why - if you haven't made frequent long trips then its more than likely they won't even ask. But if they do, the evidence of how far you are through the k1 should be enough to convince them you'll return home as planned.

I made several trips after NOA1, and NOA2 came during my last trip prior to moving permanently. They never asked on any of those trips who I was visiting, but had they done so eg during the last trip, I'd have explained that I'm well through the k1 process, and sorting out final plans for wedding venue, etc. The only issue I ever had entering the USA was before we started k1 process (my wife was still waiting for her divorce) and the USCIS officer said to me I needed to look at something more permanent, alluding to the k1. The fact that I mentioned k1 by name, and said that we were waiting for her divorce to be finalized before applying seemed to be enough to convince him that we'd researched it and were going to take the proper path to marrying in the USA.

Hey Limey, cheers for the solid answer.

Yeah i’d entering on an ESTA, hopefully I can schedule my interview and medical around it.

I’ve not had any problems so far entering the states, simple questions and simple answers thankfully.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a totally stupid idea.

    Thanks again

  9. So my fiancée (sponsor) and I (beneficiary) got our NOA2 today. 2 weeks ago I booked flights from the UK to go visit her. I was under the impression visits are ok as long as you can prove your returning home. But my flights will now be 5/6 weeks after NOA2 and I was wondering if it’s still a good idea to travel?

Any help is is greatly appreciated.
