  1. Hello everyone, just wanted to give an update. We received an RFE on mon, the 14, mailed it back out on Tues the 15 via express mail. It was received on the 17th (USPS confirmation of delivery). Since then, nothin. I called immigration this morning and got through to an officer. I was all fired up to list my complaints: no noa1 notice, no email notifications of noa1, rfe, etc. Of course, NOW I get a nice guy, so I couldn't be pissy. He told me that they have an overload of RFEs right now, but to expect an answer in about a week. So, my last resort...oh yeah, I begged. I asked him if he could just give me an early birthday present and approve it!!! Of course I was kidding, well kinda. He laughed and said he wished he could. I then said, "you just don't know how difficult it has been being separated, every day is hard". He empathized and said he has been through it, and he understands what I am going through. Da*n, why did I have to get a nice guy???!!! I needed to yell at someone!!! Anyhow, thats the sitch. Hope everyone is having a good monday.

  2. Hey, I called with the RFE trick (it is frightening when you hit the RFE keys and it says "you need to send the information specified"; presumably it says this to anyone that hits those keys whether their case got an RFE or not.

Anyway, the guy told me that my case was marked to be approved on the 4th!

But, he said it was not send to the NVC yet, and the NOA2 has not been generated or sent yet. Why would there be a 2 week delay in that?

It sounds like this is the same story that everyone else is going - what have people's experiences been between being told they were approved, and actually being sent to the NVC and receiving the NOA2?

    But overall, good news!!

Marked to be approved on the 4th? It's now the 18th, thats 14 days. Did they run out of paper? Ink maybe? Officers stuck in the bathroom due to constipation problems? I praise you for your positive attitude, but I would be pissed. USCIS has been markedly more innefficient than their usual totally innefficient way. Well, I am all riled up once more about those turds. I hope you get your approval soon, and kudos once again for being positive.

  3. geez. i can't believe it...nvc mailed our info to kiev on the 16th!!! we now have our new case number KEVXXXXXXXXXX...no e-mails from our noa1 to our noa2...nothing, nada...the only time uscis has contacted me was when we got our noa1 in the mail...

now all we are waiting for is maryna to get her police certificate from london...she had a medical done in sumy a month ago, just to have some peace of mind until she has to get the "real" medical done in kiev...and all is good there...we downloaded packets 3 and 4 from our embassy website, and so all that is ready...next week i'll e-mail and call the embassy to see where we stand and when to schedule the interview...OMG, it's all coming together!!!

Hurray!!! Congratulations. Sounds like you have everything ready for round 2!!! Good luck to you, you must be so happy!!!

  4. OK, I called and did the RFE thing because I actually did change my home address during this process. I tried the change of address menu yesterday and got a guy that would not tell me a thing.

Using the RFE menu, I got connected to California. A very nice woman verified they have the correct address. Then she said that said my case is "ready to process", "in transit to an officer" and will be ready "soon." When I pressed further, she said "give it another 30 to 60 days" but I detected a wink in her voice like she was giving the standard cover your butt required answer.

I told her in a very nice way that this was sooooo difficult for my fiancee and myself, and she repeated "don't worry it is ready to process" and we are "almost there." She was very kind.

At least I verified they have the correct mailing address, but other than that I don't think I know anything. At least I spoke with a human worker at CSC.

Hopefully with all your hard work you have done with the stats, good karma will endure and you will have an approval today or tomorrow!!! Fingers crossed for you, bud!!! Jen

  5. Sometimes I question the efficiency of the damn CSC! I called again today and guy #2 proceeded to tell me that there is no record of them having received my RFE and he said the first lady I spoke with on Monday was wrong! OMG! I wish these people would pull their heads out of their arses and get on the same page! :ranting::protest::girlwerewolf2xn:

Sorry, I am just plain tired of everything and if I didn't love Marlon so much I would give up! Dear God please help ALL of us!

I will call my congressmen again to see if they were told anything different yesterday...

I'm sorry your feeling so distressed. I understand the difficulty of this process and the unnerving USCIS. This whole RFE thing has thrown me into a complete tizzy, with the thought that it might now get stuck in the black hole of petitions sitting somewhere, like we have seen happen. I am with you in your despair!!!! Chin up. I hope you hear something soon. Tell your congressman to light a fire under their booties!!!

  6. Every embassy is different. I'm not sure how the UK embassy runs things. I will be faxing and snail mailing immediately. I will not wait until I receive packet 3 from the embassy, when I can just get it from the website right now.

If we get packet 3 in by May 15th (Bogota's cutoff date) we are assured a June interview. I wonder if other embassys work with this same cutoff date???

I've never heard of a cutoff date? Did you find that on the embassy website? If so, where at? I know it would be different for UK, but just curious???

  7. Jen/Barney,

I was told by everyone in the Colombian club thread that it is OK to send them the packet 3 as soon as they receive the approval from NVC. I do not have to wait for the embassy to send me packet 3. Packet 3 is available online at the Colombian embassy website. This is great because it speeds up the process by weeks. Because once packet 3 is faxed/mailed to the embassy. They will reply with packet 4 & the interview date which is about a month or so later.

Check the U.K. embassy page for their packet 3. It's good to get a jumpstart on this.

    Thanks Lucho!!!

If you check some threads in the UK forum: general wisdom/advice there is not to send the packet 3 forms until you are SURE they have entered your file into the system - which means waiting for it to get from NVC to the London Embassy. You can, of course, start collecting the documents requried and checking out the forms that will need to be filled out, so you can send them back as soon as you're in the system.

There was concern that getting your materials there before you were entered would land them in the bin. Check the UK forum for more. (The checklist is on the London Embassy site and scans of actual packet 3 documents are available in the "gallery" section here on VJ)

Thanks Daisy. I have searched on the UK forum, not with much luck though. I must not be doing my search correctly. There is like 65 threads to go through. I will try again. I have downloaded the required forms...I'm headed for England in three days so Barney and I will be spending some time getting them ready.

  8. I think I pretty much spelled out my question in the title. I read in another forum that some consulates will allow you to send in packet three (before you actually receive it from them) once they have received your case from NVC, and that this will actually speed up the process in receiving packet 4. Does anyone have any insight on this? I tried to search around for the answer to this before posting, but was unable to find any answers. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jen

  10. The USCIS case # will be on the NOA2 or is it the old # that is on the NOA1? I'm getting too pumped up now.

I think you only have one USCIS number throughout the process. That should be the WACxxxxx one. Not sure though, not there yet.

    Lenka and Howard,

I thought you got a new (maybe visa) case number at the NVC. Thats the way I understood it anyhow.

  11. Hello all,

I received my NOA2 notification on friday the 27th. I also got touched on saturday the 28th. I have not received the hard copy yet.

The touch on saturday could be that CSC mailed my approval to NVC???

Also what is needed to get my case # from NVC? Do I have to wait to receive hard copy of the NOA2 to give NVC my approval number?

I have packet 3 ready to go, just waiting for NVC to send off my approval to the embassy in Colombia.

    Thanks!

    Lucho,

If you don't already have the number for NVC: 603-334-0700. I don't see any harm in trying before you get your hardcopy, however I doubt if they have your case yet. But let me ask you something. So, your going to send packet 3 off before you actually get it in the mail from the embassy? Can you do that?

  12. You've got one more NOA2 than I've got. When I have time, I'll try to make sense of it. You have bigger numbers so I like your data better!

LOL, I make occaissional errirs, so I cheked me numbers. I think they are krect.

Any explanation for the 5 day February NOA1-NOA2 result of member "rebex05" from the U.S. and Cuba/Armenia?

    George

I would only believe that one when I saw the NVC receipt date, or confirmation from the member. Otherwise I can't come up with a justifiable reason why it would be approved so quickly on a K visa. I'm thinking maybe a bit of confusion. But thats just me.

  13. Okay guys, I really have a good feeling about next week approvals. Judging by the weekly stats, it looks like CSC really kicks out those approvals towards the end of the month...at least for the last couple the numbers are high towards the end. I really hope for all of you that are up for an approval soon that it comes next week. On another note, I just found out today that I am headed for England to see my sweetheart. I am so excited I am just peeing myself. It will be a quick trip, but most importantly I get to see him. I have missed him so much. 11 days and counting...yippeeeeee!!!!!!

  14. Concerning the medical exam and the police certificate. Who needs this? The USC or the beneficiary? I'm assuming the beneficiary, but please confirm.

Beneficiary needs both. And they need a police cert for each country they have lived in for 6 months or more. You might want to get on that right away because it takes a while for those (police certs) to come in, in some countries

    :)

    Karoline

How long is the police certificates valid for? I have heard two conflicting timeframes...3 months and 1 year.

This may be consular specific (but I doubt it). I asked my consulate specifically this question. The response I received was that for there purposes, a PC from ANY country is valid for 1 year.

Ok, gotcha. I will check with the London consulate, just to make sure. So many da#$ ducks to get in a row!!! Each day, after more time than I care to admit to obsessing over this petition, I find out a bit more info. Thanks for your reply.

Check out the UK regional forum. The issue has been discussed there many times.

will do. Any action for you? Regarding your petition of course!!!! Hope it is soon for you. BTW, I just called USCIS trying to speak with someone in regards to if we get a RFE. I think we will. So, I told the guy I was concerned, told him what we sent in for evidence (pics but they don't have dates, and passport pages, which is all the atty told us to send in). I told him I wanted to be prepared for RFE if we got one. Then I said that although we have many pics in UK and US, none have dates on them. I said we went to a professional photographer and they could print pics up with the date on them as evidence. I said we also have copies of airline itineraries with both of our names on them but not the actual boarding passes. After going through all of this, he said he does not have the answer and that I would have to make an info pass. Unfortunately, the nearest local office is two and a half hours away. I fear that if I make the appt, I will get the same lack of answers that I just got...wait and follow the instructions on the RFE. DRRRRR. After reading someone elses RFE, I still don't know if the evidence I just listed would suffice.

  17. Wow, that is quite a story. Congratulations. It looks like there is finally starting to be some movement at CSC again, so hopefully you will be approved here shortly and on to the next step!!! Have you had any touches from CSC? Well, thanks for the story. I enjoyed reading it. I think a lot of us here on VJ have some pretty unique stories, I always like to hear them!!!! Take care, Jen

How is it that 2 Feb CSC filers received their noa2 already?!?!?!?!?!?

    See link below

    http://fwaguy.250free.com/February2.htm

    I noticed that. How BIZARRE.

If I remember correctly, they sent their petition out Jan 10. So they probably counted when they received via snail mail their NOA1, and not the actual notice date. So therefore, USCIS probably received their petition somewhere around the 16 of Jan. Of course I am just guestimating here, but that would be my interpretation of what has happened.
