It seems like you should be fine if you have your current/old passport. Worst case scenario, they'll probably just ask you to submit your renewed passport before giving you the green card but based on what I read, it shouldn't be an issue.
This was helpful, thank you very much! 😀

My I-485 status changed today and says my interview was scheduled. Still waiting for the letter in the mail but I'm a bit concerned.
I have an appointment to renew my passport on April 20 and my consulate typically sends the new one in 4-8 weeks. From my understanding, the interview is usually set a month after the status changes. I might not have the new passport on hand by the time my interview date rolls around.
I did not apply for an EAD and AP. Should I reschedule the interview or can I just bring the old passport? It expires in June but they punch holes into it when you renew. Will this be a problem?

Congratulations to everyone who got their NOA2! We got an RFE and they are asking us to provide affidavits from friends and family who can attest that we did meet within two years of submission of our packet. Just want to ask if these affidavits will be accepted if they were notarized in the beneficiary's country or if they need to be notarized in the US.

Some do and some don't. I wouldn't worry too much if you get an RFE for this, it's just a hiccup and will cost you about 2 weeks in AP.
That's good to know! Thank you!

Yeah, that's what I thought, too. Thanks for answering!

My fiancé forgot to label our passport photos before he submitted our packet. Will we get an RFE because of this?

Hello! We filed on April 19, got a text on April 24, and got the NOA1 in the mail on April 29. We never got an email. Just worries me a bit since he will be out of the country for a few months and it might be a problem if there are urgent concerns that we won't be notified about. I hope everyone's journeys go well!
