Unlike in the US, in Indonesia one's signature does not necessarily legible as or even resemble one's name. Hence OP said her signature is merely a "scribble". Us, Indonesian, basically experimented during primary school on how to create the coolest signature because at the end of Primary School we would have to sign our Diploma.

Also, OP why bother changing your signature, keep the old one and make your life simple. My advice is just to streamline everything to avoid unnecessary hassle. So what if your signature does not follow the US norm, keep it simple. But do as you wish. Take care.

Oh God i already submitted my RFE with new signature hahaha. I always overthinking over stuff 😭. So why should i do now? On interview/biometric should i give any signature again? Or just do fingerprints there 🤔 i haven't look up about it. This covid pandemic slowing us down, makes my brain kinda sleep now 🙃.

If you filed your AOS in your married name why did you sign it with your maiden name?

Yah that was my mistakes, and my maiden signature just like a scribble. But everything i sumbitted was already under my married name. Just the signature that i forgot to change.

Your signature is your personal "mark"  You can sign as you wish

Thank God. Thanks for the reply 💛

  3. Hi! I just got RFE for my AOS submission, it was about birth certificate (no surprise about it)

The question is, i just wanna add my new signature with my new last name at my cover letter, but my original AOS submission it was sign by my old signature (without my new last name) so is that all right if i started using my new signature just now and forward? Before i get my GC, driver license, bank account and so on.

My old signature it doesn't even related to my name looks more like a scribble :'), thats why i wanna started a new one clearly saying my name and my new last name as my signature.

Everything is tied back to the BC so correct the one that is wrong.

Ahhhhhh. Thank you so much. Your answer gives me much strenght and faithfull. I will fix my passport and sync everything to my BC. Before i got Noa2. My fiance just has to email them about this. Its better to explain our mistakes in advance and fix it than just make it worse. Thank you so much.

So, i've been stress for months about this issues.

So i submitted my birthplace and parents name according my ID card here in indoneisa on K1 petition form.

since when i will have interview ahead. I have to bring my birth certificate. and the data (birth place and parents name) on my birth certificate will be different with the data i filled at the form.

    my options are 2 here:

    1. changing my birth certificate according to the form i submitted.

    2. FIXING my ID card and passport( no worries, its empty, i havent going abroad)  matches it to my birth certificate data (birth place and Parents name) . so it will be different as the form we submitted for visa.

its more way easy to fix false data than changing it into new one. i have to attend courts and blah2. plus i moved from my birth place. so its really complicated.

so if im going to do options 2.. will it be okay? do we have to email USCIS due to correcting my birth place and parents name. because of birrocracy stuffs. because honestly the birth certificate is the right data.

so its hard to change it :(

well i dunno too, it happens a lot in here. we didn't get it until we have to deal with passport and visa. so we have to fix it.

about my parents name its about spelling. and about my birth place they put the city name, and at my birth certificate they put the district name. not the city.

  7. So..we already submit our K1 petition. I filled my parents name with the current spelling. According my family card information. But...my birth certificate stated different spelling. I already asked them to change my parents name but they can't. Because thats my parents original name. What should i do? Should it be a trouble when i doing the interview? My name is completely right. But just different birth place aswell. Same city but different distict.

    I write at the from as : H-----ika S--rce, M-- J----i

    But on my birth certificate : H-----ica S--rtje , M-- Dj----i

    Please help. Thank you :)

Review the I-129F instructions carefully. It describes the forms and evidence necessary with the petition packet.

Also check current K-1 guide on this website (https://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide).

yah, i read it, but a woman who just done her k1 visa says her fiance didnt filled the 325 form for k1. they just starting to filled it for the permanent resident purpose, because they are already married.
