To clarify for everyone. I am an american citizen born in the US, moved at age 7 to canada. Married a canadian and had 2 kids. My 2 kids came in to the US as permanent residents. They do not qualify for getting citizenship from the birth abroad. I am getting them citizenship under Child Citizenship Act of 2000.

I am applying for my Canadian daughters (I am a US citizen, we have lived here for 3 years), to get american citizenship through N-600. When I printed out the form and I got to section 6, I only need to fill out if I'm claiming US citizenship for them when my daughters were born. I am not doing that, so I didn't on the paper forms . When I went to file the form online and I came to this part it doesn't say it's optional. Can I skip this part? Or will they think my paperwork is incomplete?

Hello,
I am an american and brought my husband (on the IR1 visa) and 2 daughters (on the IR2 visa) to the US (from Canada). How long do I need to wait until I can apply for citizenship for my husband and 2 daughters? We entered the country 5-1-2021 and they all have their green cards.
Thanks.

My husbands IR-1 visa was approved in January. We are moving to the states in a couple of weeks. Since submitting papers to NVC with the address we will be living at, that address has changed. I don't want my husbands SSN to be sent to the wrong address. How do I update this address?

How is the whole package done these days? Back in the day (15+ years ago), they used to give you the passport and the visa package in a separate envelope
I decided to open the package because it was very thin and only felt like a passport was inside.
Inside was my husbands passport with the visa on one of the pages. As well, a piece of paper explaining that "Your immigration packet of supporting documents is entirely electronic; at the border, you need only present your passport containing your immigrant visa." Along with other information about where to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee and once inside the US my husband is Permanent Resident and can work.

Hello, I received my visa in the mail. I’ve read that you cannot open the visa, which I understand. But is there an envelope inside the envelope that it was mailed in? Am I safe to open the Canada Post envelope it was mailed in and another envelope with the visa will be inside?
this may be a silly question but I don’t want to mess anything up.
thanks

Thank you all for your thoughts. My oldest has special needs and we are going to be applying for some state help. The N600 seems to be necessary when applying for the state help.
