  1. You asked this yesterday without a response, 99% of the people participating on this site are dealing with immigrant visa issues for spouse, or fiancee of US Citizen.

Your question is outside the scope of this site.

Why don't you PM him and give his question a chance!!?
  2. hi,

May be because of the Lots of applications , they have put your son on hold, check out the USCIS processing dates.

    Jigi

They need two come on with it. Our childs life is being put on hold and it sux.

Is one of his parents a american citizen?? It has to be. Who is where at this point? He is in Panama with whom and who is in America? I am asking to understand your case a little bit.

Yes one parent is U.S. citizen. Both parents are in U.S. Mama has visa and is in U.S. And yes he is in Panama. I had an idiot help me with my paperwork amd now am paying for it. :help:
  3. There have been some articles that have reported that the USCIS contract staff is working a lot of overtime to process their summer 2007 applications. OF course the lazy, shiftless, actual government employees who get lots of leave time and sick time wouldnt dare work any overtime.

Disclaimer: Lazy and shiftless are applied across the board to a group of government morons who look under every rock and behind every bush for imagined terrorists (focusing on the "potential terrorists" who actually send their names, birthdates, family history, work history, and address history in for them to pour through) while leaving our southern borders wide open for every ganster, drug runner, or smuggler who wants to come across and do illicit business here.

  4. Good day everyone,

For the last couple of weeks I have been calling USCIS helpline at 1 800 375 5283 to ask a question regarding my fiancee's K1 visa. I always call during their posted operating hours ( 8am to 6pm ), but I can never through to anyone. The information on the automated messages does not answer my questions.

My question is : does anyone know how to navigate through the helpline to guarantee to get through to a live person? What is the number succession one should push once they are at the main menu of the helpline? I have gotten through to people in the past, but now once I get to place where there previously was an option to talk to someone, the recorded voice just says to call back during normal operating hours (but I'm calliing during normal operating hours).

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

Here is the magic trick to your question: Call the USCIS tele.# And choose the 1 for english or 2 for spanish. the in this sequence push these options. 2-2-6-2-4 Use these options everytime you are prompted.
  5. Did anyone have their K1 interview in Moscow recently? My fiancee had her interview on November 1st and she was approved. I am wondering how long does it take for the Embassy to print the visa and ship it to my fiancee. It is November 7th now and the visa has not been sent yet. How long did it take you to receive the visa?
I have heard that the Consulates no longer issue the visa. They send it back to the states where it is issued and Fed ex to the beneficiary.
  6. What is the first thing you should do if there is a denial?

    1. Make sure you can get a copy of the 221g that is given to your SO--either by Fax or scanned and e-mailed to you to print out.

    2. With the 221g and NOA2 in hand--GO TO YOUR US SENATOR--NOT YOUR LOCAL STATE SENATOR

and request their help- and fill out the form giving them permission to contact the consulate on your behalf.--THIS DOES WORK on occation--at least for me it did.

You may want to read Kiya's post on 221g it's pinned to the top of the Middle East/Noth Africa forum. The link is directly to VERY useful information on how to handle the situation IF it should occur.

Good Luck! and it never hurts to be prepared for any situation. (F)

    Thank you. Will do.
  7. What is the first thing you should do if there is a denial?

There's really no such thing as an outright denial of a visa at the Consulate stage. The worst case is a notice of intent to deny, which returns the case to USCIS for final disposition.

I take it your question is hypothetical. The answer is always going to be circumstancial and energies are best focused on prevention through preparation.

If you have a specific circumstance in mind, please give the details.

I have heard that it is best to keep it at the consulate level. Our case is in order and should not have any problems but IF something were to happen it would be nice to know what to do right away. When you are dealing with these Govt. branches things happen. Thanx guys.
  8. I would surmise that a copy of your settlement agreement (outlining the amount of support you pay) will be enough evidence for the consulate.

You might want to research your consulate (you do not say which one you are processing through) and see if this matter ever comes up.

Ok thank you. I will call them.
