Similar situation happened to us. We called a number of times just to see if we were getting the right answer, and still don't have very much confidence in the answer, but the solutions seems to be to re-upload whatever is missing, and trust that your case is still moving through to the interview.
I think it's a technical error. I got through to the NVC and they said all my documents are fine, so I'm not uploading the additional ones. Good luck!

I would say call NVC. I had isssues with the police record and tried for the life of me to understand what they were looking for because I scanned and sent over clear color documents and I kept getting a denied on that document specifically. I called and spoke to someone in my most sincere voice and he informed me that all four sides of the certificate needed to be visible. My mind was blown but you live and learn. Call them to make sure everyone is on the same page.
Thanks!! Makes sense that you have to take matters into your own hands so ensure it's done right..any advice on when and how to call NVC? Calling sends straight to voicemail

Lol I hear you there, but can trust that whoever's in charge of moving the case forward will do their jobs..?

Hi All, I received an email from the NVC saying that my case is documentarily qualified and the next step is schedule consular interview. However, I received a email a minute before this one saying my case status is updated. After checking CEAC website, the civil documents portion still shows "incomplete" with two new document requirements, which are identical to ones I've already submitted and approved, but with different wording (passport biographic page and police certificate)! I'm thinking this is a website error?? Please help

Thank you for your replies. I originally submitted all required documents including a notarized divorce certificate, and all was approved by the NVC except for the petitioner's birth certificate. I logged in again a month later to resubmit and this new divorce doc requirement suddenly showed up. My original divorce certificate still shows approved
Is it a new requirement by the administration? I'm just surprised anyone reviewed my files again during this one month period, so it looks like an automatic website update

Hi All - I submitted all the required civil documents for IR-5 for bringing parents to the U.S, including marriage termination documentation, which was previously accepted by the NVC. Now there is a second requirement for 1st MARRIAGE-FINAL DIVORCE DECREE?? Anybody know what that is? This JUST appeared on my NVC screen after coming back to the website

Thank you for the reply! My current copy is translated by a certified translator, is that different from notarized version?

Hi everyone, NVC rejected my (petitioner) birth certificate as invalid. For background, I was born in China, naturalized US citizen and now applying for my mother's green card (IR5). The birth certificate I submitted has my mom's name and was accepted through the I-130 process, so I'm not sure what's the issue. However, it is in a different format than my mom's birth certificate, which is translated/notarized according to NVC country specific civil documents guidelines. Do I need to get my birth certificate in the same format, or are they just asking for proof of US citizenship? Thank you

Thanks for the reply. The problem is that on the CEAC portal, I can't submit the rest of the documents unless my marriage certificate is also uploaded.

Hi everyone, I'm a US citizen and am applying for my mom to come to the States. After submitting DS 260, CEAC website/NVC asks for various supporting civil documents such as birth certificates and other records. My question is, one of the required documents that shows up is the petitioner's marriage certificate (mine). However, I've never been married?? Have I mistakenly put "married" somewhere along the process such as on I-130? I'm wondering if it's a technical error, or is it a standard requirement and I can just choose the "not available" option and provide an explanation. My worry is that if it's an mistake it will delay the process. Thank you!!

If you got the email saying you are documentarily qualified I think you're OK, as was the case with me. If not I suggest you call just to confirm
