  1. I have the I-130, I-130a, I-485, I-864, I-944, I-765, I-131, and g-1445. can I send them all in one giant envelope/package? I currently have each form in a different folder with its supporting documents (6 folders total). Can I mail the physical folders like that in one envelope or just combine everything into one envelope without folders ? I am using many paper clips within a folder to separate certain supporting evidence from one another and from the form itself. Thoughts?
  2. So almost done with the paperwork part and going through the process of obtaining the required documentation for my Spouse’s adjustment of status. she was an aupair from August 2016 until April 2018 on a J-1 visa. since then she has always traveled and visited on her B2 tourist visa. we are now married and I got to this question on the I-485: ”13. Documentation Regarding J-1 or J-2 Exchange Visitor Status If you previously held or currently hold J-1 (principal) or J-2 (dependent) nonimmigrant exchange visitor status, you must submit copies of all relevant Forms IAP-66 and/or Forms DS-2019, Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J-1) Status, ever issued to you (if available). You must also submit copies of all available J-1 or J-2 nonimmigrant visas issued to you, and copies of all available Form I-94 and passport pages with entry stamps showing your admission to the United States in J-1 or J-2 status.” I imagine this applies to us unless it is in reference to someone who overstayed their J1 as “previously having”. The old visa itself and passport Pages she still has back in her home country. However the sponsor would have the IAP-66 and the DA-2019. If it’s the host family I imagine it’s gone, or is it something the Au Pair Conpany would have? Or can I obtain it from the USCIS? Anyone been through a similar situation or have any insight?
  3. Did anyone hear back about this? I checked off “Yes, I am enrolled” because my wife is on my health insurance. “
  4. In order to be considered “fluent” do you need to have passed the TOEFL if English is the second language?
  5. My beneficiary wife's documents are in a foreign language. We have to submit a copy of her diploma and transcript with the I-944. Since it's in a foreign language it seems like we need it translated to English. Can we use Google Translate? Or can she do the translation herself?
  6. Did you send them all together in one package to: If you are filing Form I-130 with Form I-485, and you live in the United States Mail your application to: USCIS Chicago Lockbox For U.S. Postal Service (USPS) deliveries: USCIS P.O. Box 805887 Chicago, IL 60680-4120 For FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries: USCIS FBAS 131 South Dearborn, 3rd Floor Chicago, IL 60603-5517
  7. My spouse was not living here at all in 2019. She most recently came here in 2020, and since that arrival we married. For household income, do I list her name and check NO for filing a tax return or do I just list my name (since I did). The question is confusing because it wants to list all household members in Part 2, but the checkbox for each person encompasses the entire household. This is Question 1A + 1B for Part 3 on the I-944. Also for assets, if I have 5 brokerage accounts, 1 checking account, 2 savings account; do a list all accounts separately or just 3 items... BROKERAGES, CHECKING, SAVINGS. It also looks like Assets are for both of us, and debt would just be her debts.
  8. Spouse was formerly an au pair (2 years before we got married), do we list this as a “job” on her work history even though it is an exchange program?
  9. I’ve noticed City of birth does not ever ask for a state or province. Just City and Country
  10. A lot of times the form asks for City and Country but not state. I have been putting Springfield,MA for city ... should I not be doing this? also on page 5 question 11... for beneficiary’s current address, it’s here in the USA. Question 12 is same. Is physical address outside the US blank or the address she lived at before Coming here?
  11. Thanks for the help everyone. also does anyone know if I am allowed to add her to my company’s health insurance while the paperwork is processing? Or do I have to wait until she receives her residency card.
  12. If you don’t mind me asking... what kind of errors? Also for places where it asks for her current address, i would put our US address and not her Mexico address?
  13. My girlfriend came to visit me on a tourist visa; I popped the question and since then we have gotten married. Do I need to file the I-130 or the I-485 if she is still in the United States? thanks!
