  1. Hello ! How is the nvc process going for you ? Please I had a quick question, I’ve read people saying submit files horizontally to read but not landscape. All our IDs like passport, driver licenses and even our marriage license from Abuja is horizontal and all been submitted to be read across. Isn’t it considered landscape? Just real confused here

If you would like to join the whatsapp where you can learn more about NVC's timelines, as well as share in the experiences and timelines of other Nigerian IR1/CR1 visa applicants that will be interviewing at the US consulate here in Lagos, then drop your name and number. I will add you.

The whatsapp group was created for Nigerians and their spouses in the US, who are currently at the NVC stage.

The group was also created for the purpose of helping each other out and following up on our visa journey progress to the USA and fulfill our goals of reuniting with our loved ones in the USA.

In my whatsapp group of CR1/IR1 visa applicants for Nigerians and their USC spouses, I see wait times of 1month and 2weeks, to receive IL after DQ.

What's the confusion about, MrsEze? There's no need for that. As long as you submitted your documents in a PDf format, then there is nothing to worry about. PDf automatically saves your documents horizontally.

I have been documentarily qualified since the 3rd of September. I'm waiting for interview letter from NVC now.

  4. Hello, I came to see how things were progressing on your end with the NVC. I noticed that you heard back them a little over a week ago. With the I-864, if your wife's total income was lower than required, your mother-in-law would need to be the co-sponsor. When my brother petitioned for his wife and son (also from Nigeria), my mom and dad were co-sponsors even though my brother lives in the same household.

We finally received my husband's passport which I sent to him. We were able to gather the necessary things and got everything submitted. I called the NVC yesterday morning to double check that they received our stuff (the status on the ceac site looked as if we hadn't), and this morning we got the email about being "Documentarily Qualified."

Hopefully, there will be no more delays in the process for you and your wife! Godspeed!

      Thanks for the info..

I'm Arinze and I reside here in Lagos. Hopefully, I will be in Florida between September and October, going by the timelines. Where in Lagos, is your husband? I can refer him to the hospital in Ikeja, here in Lagos - where he can get the vaccininations at an affordable cost. The same hospital where I got mine. You can give him my number: 08063878947 and ask him to give me a call.

Alright dear. It's nice to hear from you again. I will urge my wife to make that call after next week Tuesday, if we don't hear from them. What's the best number to call to get across to NVC? What time is the best time to call and get a response? I am hopeful that NVC will respond to us without us having to call them. So now that you have been DQ'd, I believe you should receive your IL within the next 2 weeks, going by other timelines here. Then as soon as you receive your IL, your husband should go for his medical examination at the US designated hospital. But before the IL comes, I advise you to inform your husband to go and get the necessary immigrant vaccinations at a local hospital now. He should do this now becos if he waits till when the I.L comes and he goes to the U.S designated hospital for the M.E, he will be required to provide evidence of his vaccination history and if he can't provide it, he will be required to get it at the US designated hospital during his M.E and there he will pay 3-4 times the real cost of the vaccinations he hasn't taken and provided evidence for, in addition to the medical examination fee. I have done that already.. I have gotten the required vaccinations from a local hospital here in Lagos and I have a vaccination record with me. All I'm waiting for now, is to be DQ'd.. and then my I.L will follow. Alright, that's all for now. I don't even know your name. Are you in Florida? My wife is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Bye for now.

      Hello,

Thanks for your message. It's nice hearing back from you again. Yes, we last heard from NVC on July 27th, after our 1st submission. It took them less than 2 weeks to reply us - they accepted all the documents we sent but rejected my wife's i-864ez AOS form. They said she wasn't qualified for that form bcos 2 of her total income for the last 3 years was below the requirement. My wife was studying and working during that time but today, she earns well above the minimum income requirement.

Well, my wife resubmitted the i-864 AOS form, and my mother-in-law submitted the i-864a AOS form and other supporting documents. She is a Household member, bcos they live in the same house. We resubmitted back on the 30th, so it's been 8days now. Hopefully, we will get DQ'd before next Tuesday. Did your parents co-sponsor your husband as household member or joint sponsor? Was your total income for the last 3 years sufficient that you didn't need them? Do you live in the same house with your parents? I'm glad you and your husband are finally done with the 2nd stage of the process. Now, you are on to the last stage which involves the medical examination & visa interview. Thank God for everything. I await your reply. Best regards.

  9. Good day, have you heard anything from the NVC?

Okay. It's nice hearing back from you again. I hope they have your husband's released asap. I already have my police certificate. I got it 2weeks ago. Right now, my wife is in the process of getting the Tax Transcripts from IRS. She had tried to request for them online but has been having difficulty making that happen, so just yesterday she called IRS to request for the Tax Transcripts to be mailed to her but it will take 5-10 days for her to receive it. She already has the W-2s and 6months PayStubs ready. So when she receives the Tax Transcript next week, she can complete the I-864EZ form she started filling last Sunday. Meanwhile, both AOS and IV fees have been paid. Infact, the IV fee was just confirmed PAID on the ceac website, about an hour ago. The AOS fee was confirmed PAID last week. So tomorrow, I will start filling out the DS-260.That's the position we are, at the moment.

Oh, wow! It's nice hearing back from you again. I was practically waiting to hear from NVC before coming on here again. And just this morning, I received an email with my case number and invoice ID before I saw your message, the moment I came back here to update my account. About the fees: I understand both fees cannot be paid same time. So how soon we can pay the IV fee, as soon as the AOS fee is paid? What about the documents you have to provide from your end, has that been confirmed by NVC? When you said you are waiting for IRS to send your husband's passport, I didn't understand what you meant exactly. Can you please explain? Reply soon.
