Anyone applied in May and have received an interview notice?
I have applied in April and no interview notice yet. My estimated completion time shows June 2020 and wait time shows 7 months.

I think her estimated completion time elapsed by two months before she was scheduled for interview.
@Citizendan Mine shows completion by June 2020. I applied in April 2019. So it might take around 14 months for my interview to get scheduled if I’m lucky. It’s misleading when CIS gives metrics that are unreliable.

@floricika009 Congrats on your interview. It was a long wait. Hope you get your oath scheduled soon.
Before your interview was scheduled what was the online application timeline? What was your estimated waiting time and estimated time to complete application processing?

No. That's the trend. All those who have been interviewed waited between 16 to 20 months. I have check from other people and they also havnt received anything
Did you apply on 5 year basis or 3 years? Is your application tied to any other application that is pending?

That’s scary to hear. I thought few applications are anomaly from ND that didn’t receive interview notice, but if that’s the trend, it’s worrying. I was in MN before I applied but applied for my N400 after I moved to ND. That sucks.

It's worse to be in ND. as I said, I applied in August 2018, interview is not scheduled.
Wow that sucks. Did you contact uscis about it?

Thanks! She filed March 31 of this year and her estimated wait time (earlier today) was 8 months. It showed June 2020 for estimated completion time. Not sure what it's saying now that the interview letter has gone out. Hopefully you hear something soon!
Thank you 🙏
I am really hoping I get my interview gets scheduled this year. As per trend, I should get my interview notice in November and interview in December. But you never know with the uscis timing. Also, I have heard processing for ND applicants is slower.

Got the notification from USCIS today that an interview date for my wife has been set. Now we wait for the letter. I'm very surprised, as she had literally logged in earlier today and it still said the estimated time of completion was still June 2020. We live in the Minneapolis suburbs, for reference.
Congratulations! When did she file her application? I applied in April and eagerly awaiting my interview. I live in ND. My estimated wait time shows 7 months and estimated completion time shows June 2020. What does her wait time show?

We’ve been waiting for notification by email that my husbands oath ceremony has been scheduled, yesterday was 2 weeks since his interview, and nothing. For the heck of it, just now, we logged in to check, and what do you know, his oath ceremony has been scheduled, the letter was dated 5/21. It’s scheduled for 6/24 in St. Paul.
That’s Awesome! Congratulations 👏

One of the best ways to get a handle on processing times and intermediate times on your journey is to use the google spreadsheet below. The times that are shown on the USCIS websites are misleading as they show the median/ 50% and 93% processing times. We often see times that approximate or even better than the 50% mark. The spreadsheet also shows that some people especially from Western Wisconsin seem to do much better. Not sure if the Dakotas have the same advantage, but when my wife had her interview, I noticed 50+ people waiting for same day oath, and presumably they were not from Minnesota, but from Wisconsin and/or Dakotas.
Good luck
@BruceW Thanks for sharing the spreadsheet.
North Dakota has same day oath ceremony? Or only few from ND have it? What does it depend on?

Looking at the trend in North Dakota, you may have your oath ceremony in first quarter of 2020. If you are lucky, then it could be end of this year. I submitted my application on August 11, 2018 and I'm still waiting
What is the estimated wait time and case completion time on yours? Hope you get your interview scheduled soon

Wow. That's exciting.
I was reading online that sometimes the wait times increase. Hope that's not the case here. I am trying to be optimistic

I think it is calculated based on the backlog and how fast they are processing cases. if your estimated wait time has decreased, then I think they are now moving faster than before. I just checked mine. My estimated wait time has also reduced. Great news!!!
My estimated case completion and estimated wait time is 13 months

had to check for myself if the wait times went down for our case as well. Sure enough it did! Estimated case completion time is 14 months, and in the reviewed biometrics section says "estimated wait time of 11 months". Woohoo!
Was hoping husband would be a citizen by the end of this year but seeing as ND has only 3 or 4 ceremonies in a year, I'm not sure that's gonna happen; I certainly won't hold my breath. I know better than that with immigrations ha!
Yayyy! That’s awesome. I live in GF. Went for my biometrics to Fargo ASC. Interview is long way but not sure where it’ll be. I agree about ND oath ceremonies. I would be surprised if I get my interview scheduled this year.
When did your husband apply and did he give biometrics in Fargo ASC?

@Citizendan If that’s the case, then it’s great news! But don’t want to raise my hopes as it might change again as the uscis website still shows 17.5 months to 33 months to process n400.
Also, do you know if the estimated case completion include time till oath or till interview scheduled?

Hi everyone!
How accurate is the estimated case completion time shown in the online account? Mine was 19 months and it changed to 13 months yesterday. Not sure what factors impact this and how it’s calculated.
I applied for n400 in April 2019, done with biometrics. I fall under MN field office.

Hi guys! I wanted to update my biometrics experience at Fargo ASC.
I went for a walk-in for my biometrics at Fargo ASC. I was leaving out of country, so I wanted to walk-in and try if they’ll let me give my biometrics early. I drove from GF to Fargo about 1.5 hours drive. I reached Fargo at 9am.
Fargo USCIS Office is in the same building as USPS. I parked my car across the street in a church parking lot. Parking fee was $1.5 an hour, I took all day pass for $7 as I didn’t know how long it’s going to take and the guy said the proceeds ho towards church. I Walked into the building and there was a security screening (same as airport security check) and they guided me towards the elevator and I went to the 2nd floor. The room was very small and had around 7 chairs. There was a lady at the counter who called me once I entered the room. I went to the counter and said I was there for biometrics and I was earlier than my scheduled date and she said the date doesn’t matter and I was fine to give biometrics anytime before my scheduled date once I received the notice. Then she took my Green Card and called me inside. She took my photo and my right hand four finger prints (no thumb) and said that there is a long wait for interview and asked me to be patient. I was out in 5 minutes. Overall very friendly and welcoming experience.
Hope this helps someone who’s looking to go for an early walk-in to Fargo ASC.
Thanks!

Hopefully they'll let you walk in! And yes, my wife's letter also shows NBC as the service center.
I hope so. I’m getting married, so traveling out of country for the wedding. If they don’t accept walk-in, worst case scenario, I will travel back to US just for the fingerprints.

The online notification just said they'd sent the letter with the appointment, it didn't give a date or anything. The letter itself had the date (which is 23 April, so just over 3 weeks after they sent the letter out). I don't know where the letters are sent out from, but we live in the Minneapolis suburbs so we're very close to the field office.
I checked my account today and received the biometrics appointment 😊. It’s scheduled on 5/8 in Fargo. I will be traveling out of country in May, so I will try to go for a walk-in this Thursday and see if they will accept it.
It shows service center as NBC. Is it same for you guys as well?

My wife's online account was updated on 6 April (a Saturday, like yours) saying they'd sent the biometrics letter. It didn't arrive until the following Thursday.
Oh wow! Did she get a notice in documents in online account or did she receive a mail? Thanks for sharing. I was planning on going for a walkin at Fargo ASC and was waiting for the appointment letter to arrive.

Hi everyone!
Glad to see there’s a ND group 😂
I applied for my n400 on 4/14 based on 5year rule. I live in GF and my biometrics appointment is scheduled, still waiting for the letter to see which ASC am I scheduled at. Fargo is 1.5 hours away, so I hope it is in Fargo. I’m way too far from getting an appointment for interview (maybe next year based on MN service center wait times! I wish they had a separate office for ND to reduce the case load and expedite processing times 😞) but will watch this thread closely to get any help/suggestions.
Hope everyone in this thread gets their murican citizenship soon ☺️

End 'o January. And just think if you get the interview sooner, you can be pleasantly surprised instead of wringing your hands in prolonged, disappointment as each month passes
Hi!
I’m confused about the biometrics appointment notice. Please provide your experience. I checked my uscis online account and I see my notice receipt only. There was no biometrics appointment letter. But, when I checked case status online with my case number in my uscis, it’s showing that my biometrics appointment was scheduled on April 20th and a mail was sent. I was not notified via email and it doesn’t show up in my online account either. I don’t know what ASC do I go to and when is my appointment date or other details yet. Will I receive these later via mail? Will my online account get updated later? Just making sure I didn’t miss my appointment. Please help!
TIA!

Greetings from bismarck! Our Biometrics were/have been in Fargo. Not sure if they do walk-ins or not.
And yes, the processing times are ridiculous. Even more so that they only have they like 3 or 4 citizenship ceremonies in ND every year 😫
at least the end is in sight...even if it's really, really far away lol!
Thanks for your response 😊. I will set my expectations straight on how long it’s going to take to get interview scheduled 😂
When did you file?
N400 filers at Minneapolis,MN
in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports

MN office processing is slooowww... But as per trend, folks who applied in May should get interview notice in December/January. Unfortunately it’s not 100% accurate.
I live in ND, it’s worse for us. People who applied in October 2018 are still waiting for the interview 😞
