  1. I applied under the 3 year, while also having my I-751 / ROC pending. I applied in Aug 2022 and was naturalized in April 2023 (8 months). My case was straightforward as well - no divorce waivers, commingling of finances, no arrests / criminal charges. The only hiccup was my N-400 interview was held in February but a decision could not be made because they didn't have my file. It took about 3-4 weeks to get the oath ceremony notice. The Minneapolis office is processing N-400 applications faster than the posted processing times. My recommendation is that you apply and not wait.
  2. I was lucky to get to the front of the line. I don't think it's an urgent must to do thing, but good to get out of the way!
  3. 4/12 - Application submitted at post office (expedited service, 1-2 day return shipping) 4/18 - Application shows "In Process" on tracking website with receive date of 4/17. Check cashed as well. Record locator starts with 69
  4. I had my oath ceremony on 4/11 at the St. Paul River Center. Similar to @elmers experience, there were around 1000 people. The oath ceremony letter said to arrive at 12.45pm but the ceremony started at 2pm. Guests were allowed but seating is limited, so I suggest to arrive early so your guests can get a good spot. You cannot sit with your guests (they have seats at the back) and you get seated in specific rows that aids with distribution of certificates after the ceremony. The ceremony lasted for about 45 min. One nice thing is that give you a SSN form to fill out & submit to SSA officials after the ceremony to get your SSN citizenship status updated. This saves you a trip to the local SSA office. The submission of the form is a bit chaotic but still worth waiting after the ceremony.
  5. Do you remember what the guest situation was like at the oath ceremony? Were you sitting with your guests or did they have a different area? I have a bunch of family and friends who want to come along but I don't want them turned away at the ceremony for whatever reason.
  6. Update: 3/16/23 - We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review. 3/16/23 - Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled
  7. Update on 3/16: We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review. Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled One more step closer. Glad that this didn't take too long!
  8. I received approval on 2/16/2023, filed in 8/5/2021. I wonder if it was due to my pending N-400. The ROC got approved exactly a week prior to my N-400 interview.
  9. Congratulations on passing your test! Sounds like your interview was just like mine. Fingers crossed that we get the oath scheduled for April!
  10. Adding my case to this tracker. N-400 - 3 year rule, I-751 approved 1 week prior the N-400 interview, Minneapolis FO. 2/24/23 - Interview completed, passed but decision could not be made due to A-file "in transit". No timeline provided. No requests or indications for any additional evidence needed at interview. Status says "Interview Scheduled"
  11. Received the 10 year card today. Also completed my N-400 interview today and outcome was decision could not be made.
  12. I had my N-400 interview this morning at the Minneapolis FO. Thankfully, the office was open today and I didn't have to deal with rescheduling due to the office being closed the last two days because of the snow storm. The interview was pretty straight forward and I passed the civics test but the outcome was "decision could not be made". The IO explained that my A-file is in transit and that needs to be reviewed as well. I asked if it was due to my I-751 but also reiterated that my I-751 was approved. The IO said they have to do some "due diligence". N-400 status still shows Interview Was Scheduled. The interview itself and questions were straightforward, nothing out of the ordinary. The IO was personable and made me feel very comfortable. I brought some additional evidence along like W2s for 2022, more recent statements for the evidence I had already submitted and any originals (as applicable) but the IO did not ask for anything specific. The IO did not allow my spouse to accompany me to the interview. The IO asked personals questions about my application (address, # of times both of us were married, # of kids, plans to have kids, international trips, club membership) that she updated and then the standard questions that go with each application (are you willing to take the oath of allegiance, etc.). Documentation provided to the IO (all of it was returned back to me): Expired Green Card I-751 Approval (since I don't have the new green card yet) Driver's license List of international trips I've taken since N-400 filing Civics questions: Rights of US citizens Who wrote the Federalist Papers? How many amendments does the constitution have? We elect a president for how many years? One of the longest rivers in the US Why does the flag have 50 stars? Reading: Who lives in the White House? Writing: The president lives in the White House.

  14. N400 interview scheduled for 2/24 I-751 approved on 2/17, new card production ordered. Not sure if I will receive my card in time for my interview. Fingers crossed!
  15. Interesting, OK. I was under the impression that they won't let your spouse in for the interview unless you have a pending I-751 as well.
  16. Got an email on 2/16/23 saying "New Card Being Produced". I was planning and preparing for a combo N-400 interview next week. Now hoping that my card arrives within a week, in time for the interview. Hopefully not a big deal if it doesn't.
  17. Thanks for posting your experience. I'm with you... facial recognition it is! If I'm able to board Delta international flights with just my face, I'm pretty sure USCIS's facial recognition capabilities are far more advanced. Were you able to take guests? And a short update on my end... last night I got the "Card being Produced" email for my I-751. So I guess no combo interview next Friday.
  18. No questions, I handed my passport, green card and the extension letter. They stamped my passport with the entry stamp. The entry fees for the tourist card should be included in the tickets. You have to fill out the Entry and Exit card online - https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/. This is required for everyone travelling to the DR, regardless of what passport you hold.
  19. I have travelled to the DR with an expired green card and I-797 extension letter twice (Dec 2021 and Dec 2022). I have an Indian passport and can confirm that I had no issues both times travelling to the DR. Your wife will not be able to use the E-Gates (while leaving the DR) and will have to wait in line to get processed by an immigration official. You can wait in line with her with your US passport as well or use the E-Gates. The only minor inconvenience is that the airline (Delta) employees wanted to go through all my paperwork during boarding (while traveling back to the US) even though the person at the check in desk verified all my documents. Some of the airline employees took some time to read and understand the extension letter. I had no issues leaving the US either.
  20. Thank you! That is my plan... hoping that my I-751 gets transferred and I see that on case status. Regardless, still planning for a combo interview.
