  1. Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I understand there are many forums for everything I will mention below but I am getting lost as to where to get my information and its giving me a headache. 🤕 It would be GREAT if someone was able to help...

So, I have all of my forms filled out for the Adjustment of status package I-485 (I have the checklist printed and that is what I have used to gather everything together)...Just waiting on my sponsorship forms to come back from my sponsor (form I-864)...I'm concerned by the expiry dates that are on the forms. On the application for employment authorization form (in the right hand corner) it says it expires 05/31/2020? is this an issue where I just need to reprint the document?

Also, I have been in the US for a year now and haven't filed yet. How does this affect my medical status? will I need to book a medical or have shots before I send this package off?

My other two questions refer to SSN and passport. I am unsure if I will need to wait to know about how to acquire these after my package is sent out and processed?  is my legal name now my married name? should be doing something now while I wait. My husband is in the military right now so I appreciate any help from you guys. 😄

Wow, getting an email is a bonus. I didn't know they did that. Or was it an answer to an email you sent them?

The visa is the same size as a passport page. It is glued inside covering one empty page of your passport. The passport and white envelope will have an outer mailing wrapper around them that the courier people use to bundle them for delivery. You open the wrapper to get the passport and sealed immigration envelope out. My outer wrapper was a sort of clear plastic. Not sure what they are using currently.

Yes, sorry, it was a response to a question my fiance had asked them about what was happening with our case. They just said that the medical was now being processed and that as soon as that is complete it will be sent to me :)

My status just changed to "issued"!! this morning :D  thank you for all of your help.

  3. Hey everyone! :D

Thank you so much for all of your help...I have some good news and my case is now set to "ready"! and I have received an email saying they are now processing my medical. (yay)

Once the visa is sent back to me is it placed inside the passport? and also does the envelope get sent with the passport or separately?

    thanks guys! :)

Yes, our interview was last year! We're past the AOS point now but we were only delayed by a week. We also ran into Memorial Day weekend.

    Oh, that's awesome! :) congratulations

I'm hoping that will be the case with me, only a week or so delay. Did you receive an email from the embassy or get any updates?

So that is an indication they have not either 1)received the medical or 2)just haven't caught up backtracking to pick up cases that needed something further sent in. Keep watching the dates for changes.

Okay, I will keep checking. thank you :)

  5. Hi all,

I'm a little worried... :( I had my interview on April 1st. They said everything else was fine but they hadn't yet received my medical. So this meant that they had to refuse the visa. I had done my medical 12 days before on March 20th. She said it usually takes 2 weeks for it to get transferred across. Which would have been by today, April 3rd. She said I should await an email saying they have received it and the visa should be processed from that date.

I was wondering if this had happened to anyone beforehand or if anyone knew about this happening. I'm not sure if I can do anything or just wait for the email. The medical said it was sent on March 25th so it would mean 5-7 days to the embassy would be today's date but I haven't heard anything yet. My CEAC is saying Administrative processing.

    Thanks in advance :)

  7. Hi all,

I had my interview at the embassy this morning, all went well... EXCEPT, I'd had my medical 12 days prior and this didn't give it enough time to get to the embassy before the interview, so everything else was okay but it was refused on a green piece of paper that was given back to me until they receive my medical. In 2 days it will be the 2-week mark since I had the medical done (the amount of time they suggest to wait until booking the interview), I've been told to wait for an email from the embassy saying that the medical has got there. And I'm guessing after that confirmation of the visa processing ready to be couriered back to me.

Has anyone else gone through this or heard of this? I guess what I'm asking is should I be worried?

    thank you in advance! :)

Did you book the interview yourself or did the embassy schedule it for you? I've just filled in DS160 and wondering where to pay visa fee and if I need to schedule interview myself and if so, how.

    Good luck for tomorrow!! :D

I waited until after my medical (over a week to give it enough time to get sent to the embassy), my status changed to “ready” on CEAC and I’d done my DS-160 already so I went ahead and booked the interview myself online. You are able to register your account and it takes you through everything. Remember to print the instruction page, it prompts you to do so. You take it to the interview. Once you book the appointment through there you are able to pay the fee and if you want your passport couried back to your address after the interview you can pay a fee to do so. It takes you through all of that.

Log in on the immigrant section then your appointment should appear. I clicked the green 'continue' button but yours could say something else because i've had my interview already

I’ve found it. Thank you! :)

When you scheduled the interview and paid the fee, you got a confirmation that said to print and show at interview.

Not needed anymore. They used to want hard copies of your personal documents. Now they scan your documents and give them back.

Thank you so much! panic over, haha. I have everything else ready so hopefully its all going to go well tomorrow and I'm one step closer. Very excited and only a little anxious! :)

  11. Hi, I have my interview tomorrow and just wondering about the appointment email... I have everything else. I'm wondering if this the instructions page to print? and if not, I haven't received an email saying the appointment date/time...I just scheduled it myself...

    thank you in advance :)

Hi everyone, I was wondering if the Notification of Applicant readiness form is still needed for the K-1 visa? If so, would anyone know where I would be able to get this form?

I have had my medical and my case is "In transit" to the London Embassy (Expected to arrive around the 29th). I'm just trying to be productive where I can be. When is the point where I am able to book my interview?

Also, for the interview, is it best to make photocopies of everything I will be handing over?

    many thanks in advance! :)

  14. Hi, me again lol

my status changed to "ready", yay! I've had my medical so all of that is done and I have done the D2-160, gathered all of the documents. My question is for the scheduling of the interview. The fee will be £217.30. Is this the right thing for the K1 fiance visa

Thank you! its so close I don't want to mess anything up and apply for the wrong visa lol any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!

No, the readiness form is now redundant, you need to complete the Ds160 and print out the confirmation page as you will need this for the interview. Once you have done this you can go ahead and book your interview appointment . It is advisable but not necessary to leave at least 2 weeks between medical and interview if you want your results to arrive there in time.

Photocopies are not required for London

    Thank you so much! :)

I have worked out that the medical results and case should arrive in London around the 29th, so I will go ahead and try to schedule the interview on that day for asap. Exciting!
