  1. My wife lived in Mindanao so after her interview we paid Delbros the fee to transfer her visa... but then I thought "Well, we'll still be here until this weekend in Manila"

So i went back in and was able to have someone talk to our consulate and ask him if we could just get our visa the next day. They said they had to process it in Wash DC and they would call. Sure enough, we were able to get it the next day so I just went back to Delbros and asked for a refund... walay problema.

  2. Here's the million dollar question: what do we do now? My wife will be here in about 10 days with her CR-1 visa. We'll get her Social Security Number and a job as a nurse at the hospital. I know in 90 days we do an adjustment of status??? Is there another interview in the states? Medical exam? Where can I go on this site to see all the steps we need to take to finish everything here.

    Thanks!

  3. Salamat Ginoo, Salamat Visajourney, *removed for spam*, and Ray B.

    2 year relationship

    1 year marriage

9 month CR-1 Visa Application Process from Filing to Visa Receipt.

Our medical: Walay problema, healthy asawa!

Our interview: Documents verified by NSO and in the hands of the Consular

The Consular was very nice, gwapo guy from England I think. I was able to sit in with my wife, window 30. (I prayed we would not get window 32 because she wasn't letting husbands stay in the room). We were approved. Paid Delbros for delivery. We left the Embassy and I realized my wife still needs her passport before we get the visa because she has a plane ticket to her province with her married name and only her passport has her married name. I went back in and explained this to Window 37. He asked the Consular to approve visa pick-up. This was approved and we were told that we should get it in 24 hours. We will also attend CFO in Manila now instead of waiting for her to go to Cebu. Maybe we will book a plane ticket for next week.... or maybe we will just give my wife a few more weeks with her family PLUS its cheaper to fly in September than in August!

At any rate, God is good, answered EVERY prayer! Even the prayer for a different window!!! No criminal check for me. No problems! We'll even get a refund from Delbros! and I can use that money to take my wife out to a nice dinner!!!

Okay, God bless. Thanks everyone.. Our Philippines journey is complete...now on to the next journey..,.

  4. hi all. My wife and i are acros from the embasy. Its late and we need passport photos for interview tomorrow at 630am. How can we make this happen?

If you'll be lucky tomorrow, maybe there are people outside the US embassy that it'll offer to take her photos, hopefully.

i'm just curious, how did it happen that after the long wait, how come your wife forgot all about the passport photos?

good luck with the interview

That would be me. I was responsible to remember because I accepted the responsibility to. But its okay, we were greeted outside our hotel at 6:20AM across from the Embassy by a gentleman that offered us Passport photos so we got them in time. Not only that, we were approved for the visa and will receive the visa tomorrow. Praise God.

  5. Salamat kaayo for all the help!

I guess I am just getting a little nervous as we are now fast-approaching! I will be going to Manila in 10 days!!!

I am so happy to see my wifey. I am also excited to actually spend some time in Manila. As of now, I've been there 4 times in the last 1 1/2 years and have really only spent time in Agusan Del Norte.

We will be hanging out at Glorietta 3, Ayala Market in Makati for shopping and dinner on friday the 8th of August...

  6. WHAT ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS WERE REQUESTED AT THE INTERVIEW.

WE HAVE A LETTER FROM THE NVC SAYING ALL DOCUMENTS NEEDED WERE RECEIVED/ COMPLETED/ REVIEWED . THE LIST ALSO INCLUDES SEVERAL FORMS NOT NEEDED.

IT ALSO STATES THAT EVEN THOUGH THE APPLICANT PROVIDED THE NVC WITH A COPY OF THE DOCUMENT, THE APPLICANT IS STILL REQUIRED TO BRING THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT TO THE INTERVIEW.

WE ONLY SENT ORIGINALS TO THE NVC. NO PHOTOCOPIES!!

IS THIS SOMETHING TO BE ALARMED ABOUT???

    ALL RESPONSES APPRECIATED

    john&Jean

    Hey John.

For our case, I made sure my wife had two sets of ORIGINAL documents plus two sets of COPIES of the originals. We submitted a set of originals and a set of copies to the NVC for the DS-230 and the other set of originals and copies we will bring with us to the interview JUST INCASE.

But the Embassy gets the originals you were supposed to send to the NVC, and then the Embassy sends those to the NSO for DV.

  7. Hi. Is it a REALLY bad idea to have the medical exam only the week before the interview? I see that some have it two weeks before, others, a month before. I understand its better to do it earlier because if something goes wrong, maybe the interview wont be delayed. I believe my wife is in good health.

    What do you all think?

Also, I have called Robbie and he said that they confirmed the payment for the DV. Now, should I call him to see if he has forwarded that to the NSO? And then, do I call NSO to see if they forward back to Delbros? A final call to Delbros to see if they forward that to Embassy? And then a call to the Embassy to confirm that they have received the verified documents before the interview?

What are the numbers to NSO and the US Embassy to check on this information?

  8. My wife paid the 650. We sent a fax to Delbros. I've called many times. Today I called and Robbie confirmed that Delbros has received the payment (I wanna buy that guy lunch!)

Anyway- our interview is next month, approximately 5 weeks away. When will be a good time to call and make sure they received her documents and sent them to the NSO? 2 weeks before the interview? 3 weeks?

Also, once NSO receives them, should we contact NSO and ask when they will send those back to Delbros and then return them to the embassy?

  9. My wife and I paid for Document Verification (DV) very early. She paid on a Manila holiday, too, so Delbros had trouble recovering the information. Even after my wife sent them the text message, she received no response. This weekend I took matters into my own hands and sent the text message to them from the US...

Finally, today (monday) they responded to my text:

"Delbros has successfully received the information you sent! We will send you a text confirmation after we verify your payment. Thank you."

    message 2

"Please fax your machine validated deposit slip with your name and case number written on it to 339-2756. Kindly text us again all the information. Thank you!"

How does my wife send the fax from Mindanao?

The fax number is 339-2756 so does my wife fax it to 2-339-2756 or 02-339-2756?

  10. I would just like to say that it sounds reasonable not to get carried away with paying for DV too long in advance (especially before Delbros even gets your documents).

We paid Delbros a week after we were scheduled (about 2 months prior). To add insult to injury, we paid on "Manila Day" so Robbie said they were having problems retrieving information on payments made that day. My wife sent two text messages, I sent a fax, a text message myself, and talked to Robbie twice. Suffice to say, we haven't received any confirmation yet, and beside that, our documents aren't even at the Embassy yet! So right now I'm doing all of this stressing for nothing...

I will simply wait until 2 weeks before our interview and I will have my wife send the text message again. If no luck, then I'll call Robbie. If no luck then, I will repay the doggone thing

And just a heads-up, I guess Robbie is not allowed to disclose information any longer regarding Document Verification on a case by case basis.

  11. I will be in Manila August 5, tuesday,

My wife and I will go to St. Lukes on Wednesday and Thursday, spend a week in Manila, and go to the Embassy for the interview on the 14th, thursday. I will come back home on the 17th.

Well, if any VJr couples are in Manila, maybe we'll see you there....

    Cheers....

Yes, you should not have used your father as co-sponser but household member...

With this route you will fill out I-864 for yourself and attach:

2007 Tax Return and W-2 (or in your case, your disibility check stubs or other records)

    Plus W-2s for previous years, 2006, 2005

Any other government verification/substantial documentation of your disability income.

    Next: I-864A for your father:

he will need 2007 Tax Return and three years of W-2s

Letter of employment and salary verification on letterhead

    3 recent pay stubs

Copy of his passport (bio-data/picture page)
