Your lawyer needs to forward the packet to your fiance.
THANK YOU! That's just what I have though all along. The lawyer sent it to ME, here in the US and she is going to call London on Monday to see what's up. I have some other things to send to that Dear Man in the UK so I will DHL all of it on Monday.
-
We breezed through the US part -- Filed in mid February and got approved fast. On April 7, I received a letter from the NVC saying that information would be sent to London.
On April 14 the US Embassy in London sent a packet to our US lawyer (packet 3, I assume) saying that she needs to collect together the documents....(SHE doesn't need to collect the documents, my fiance, PETER in LONDON is the one who needs to do this.)
Meanwhile, Peter in England hasn't received anything from London!!!
Our lawyer says that the packet she got is just a copy and that London will still send the real one to my fiance. Any thoughts on this?
-
Congratulations!!!!! You sure got touched a lot along the way.

Still waiting for the package 3, does anyone know how to get the information from USE to know when theyll send the package?
Thanx,
I guess this is where the February Filers are........waiting for package three. I received a letter on April 7 saying that my fiance would soon be receiving the packet. Our lawyer (we have a complicated case and had to get a lawyer) received a copy of the packet about a week ago.) I think she said she's going to email the consulate in London to see what's going on. She told me last night that he should go ahead and get the medical appointment anyway and not wait for the packet.

Hi Fabulous February Filers,
Things went fast for us and I received the NVC notice dated April 7th saying that the petition will be forwarded to London. So far my Man in the UK hasn't heard from London -- is this normal?
I feel like we're in limbo. How long does it take London to send the first packet out? Anyone know?
Meanwhile, it's great having all of you journeying along with us, breaks up the monotony and stress somewhat to know that everyone else is going through this stuff.

Thank you for your answers. I couldn't believe it when he said Manchester told him he could go there since everyone else has to travel to London. I'm going to get after him to delve deeper into this subject and get to the bottom of it. He's the most stubborn man on earth though
but I'll get him to get a true answer. I'll let you people know.

I have a question.
My UK fiance says his interview is going to be in MANCHESTER, not LONDON!!!!!
Is this for real? Can he really get his interview and all in Manchester? He says he called the American consulate in Manchester and asked, they called him back and they said OK. It's just a short bus trip for him rather than the ordeal of going down to London.
Is it really all right to do it this way? I don't want any mistakes -- we just got out NOA2 and are waiting to hear from London.
It could be possible, but I never heard of it happening before. Even people who live in Northern Ireland have to travel to London for their interview. I'd double check to be on the safe side if it were me.
Please keep us updated on this one Lois, I'd be very interested to hear the outcome.

YES! Kinda - Blue jeans, skanky brown trainers, kinda a grey/blue zip up cardi and a cream top with turquoise and brown flowers at the bottom
Ha, thats so funny. I'm just a nosey person so whenever an immigrant visa number was called I looked to see who was going. You were the only young one that got up when a number was called so I assumed it had to be you. We were literally sat 7 seats apart. You literally looked as terrified as me
Haha - I looked as well cause I was thinking of you but I had no idea what you looked like or I would have walked over and we could have panicked together!!! What time was yours?
My queuing time was 9.30. Got into the building about 9.45. Then my number (5018) got called round about 10.30ish. I should have guessed it was you on the end cos everyone else in the embassy looked relaxed....apart from those who were called up for immigrant visas
Did you have your medical soon afterwards? I had to wait round til 2.30....though made the big error of turning up at the Knightsbridge doctors at 2.10 when the medical is blatantly not there, hence a mad dash back up to bond street ensued.
Oh you were the time slot after me!! I was so surprised to see so many relaxed people as well!!! I was cacking myself!!!!
I had my medical the day before so I didn't have that to worry about - that was worse than the interview though I was less nervous about it!! Did you have the scary Asian lady doctor?!

Thanks guys! (Alex & Rachel)
I really was just commenting on the fact that i've not seen any ''woohoo's'' or ''yays'' in a while.
So no, there was no need for the eye rolling.
lol
It's just nice to see approvals when they come.
I do have my NOA2 already but that doesn't mean I have to stop being interested in other folks situation right?
Well if there have been approvals, they've kept them pretty quiet that's all. Congratulations to anyone I may have missed
All the best!

SCREAMING and GRINNING ear to ear because I just got the NOA2.
Just spoke with Pete last night by phone and he sounded down and bored -- "can't get there soon enough." Before I went to bed I checked the USCIS site and it was still received and pending. Not even touched. But I knew from here that it's been taking about 39 days so I was thinking maybe soon........
I never did get the email that I had signed up for telling me but our lawyer called this morning and she'd had an email from Vermont. I've been frantically trying to call Pete but can't get through. His computer is down too so he doesn't KNOW YET. Wait until he finds out. Somebody do the numbers for me -- I'm too excited to count. Was it about 40 days?

To get your timeline to show at the end of your message you need to include it in your signature - go to My Controls > Edit Signature. You'll have to type in your timeline manually - there's no way to set your signature to automatically extract data from elsewhere.
If by picture you mean an avatar (i.e. the picture that is displayed under our names whenever we make a post) go to My Controls > Edit Avatar Settings. If uploading doesn't seem to work you might want to try hosting it elsewhere and linking to it (i.e. on photobucket or any personal image gallery).
Thank you! Wow what quick answers you get on here. (Are you listening, VERMONT??)

Thanks for the warm welcome to this forum, you FABULOUS FEBRUARY FILERS.
I keep thinking of reasons why they may have been slow up in Vermont last week -- they did get a lot of new snow. Maybe they had the flu. March in New England is BLEEECH. But April should bring them a daffodil and that may cheer them up and get them going. If the daffodils don't bloom up there I'll SEND them some daffodils!!!!
I want to ask -- how do you get your timeline to show up at the end of your message?
Also, I can't get a pic to show up but that's not so important. I have tried all different sizes and it says it's uploaded but then it's just not there.
-
Ours was received in Vermont on the 21st of Feb. There hasn't been so much as a touch
since then.
From what I've been reading, it could be soon but he's getting really discouraged over there in England AGAIN. Hi to all Fabulous February Filers!

I'm in the US, my fiance is in the UK. We are getting ready to file the K-1 so that we can get married here and live here. Question is: once we have filed the forms here in the US, is he still allowed to come over and visit me? Does he have to wait alone in the UK until he gets the letter from the British Embassy? We want to be here in the US together and Christmas and for 90 days following that.
Coming from he UK shouldn't be a problem. Just bring ties from home just incase and be honest. You should be fine.
Thanks for the answers. I have one more question -- We're right at the beginning of the K-1--is there a chance that the embassy might want to contact him before he goes back? Do we tell them that he can be contacted HERE? or do they send correspondence to his home address? If it goes to his home address, no one's there -- how do we handle that?

Your fiance can visit, however, he will face greater scrutiny at the PoE and could be denied entry if they feel that he intends to stay. He may be asked to show ties to the UK.
THANK YOU!

I have a similar question. Can a UK citizen bring his private insurance over here? My friend is age 66 and has had private insurance in the UK for years and they have told him that they are worldwide. What's the catch? Very high premiums if he continues on with it in the US?
BUPA type thing?
Firstly it is a top up policy, so not comparable. Might be a worldwide extension for overseas trip, a bit like adding travel insurance.
Secondly a pound to a penny says it is for UK Residents only.
Thirdly, the costs increase significantly with every extra year.
I don't know what BUPA thing means but I will ask him. He says they told him he could move over here and still keep it. He's had this insurance for years and years and I don't know about it increasing every year but it's been affordable for him. Thank you for your reply.

To keep us FEB FILERS bumped up to the beginning of the threads, I'll add my 2 cents worth.
We have been waiting most of April and now well into May for Pete to receive packet 3 in London. It's getting really depressing. We now think that London sent the packet to our lawyer in the US and it should have been sent to HIM in London. Tomorrow I'm going to DHL the copy our lawyer sent to us -- get it over there to Pete so he can get started with his side of it.
He STILL has not received his police report after FIVE WEEKS. I'm so worried about his filing out all these new forms and getting something wrong, I wish I could just go over there and help him. Then we could practice interview questions too instead of doing it over the phone.
This is taking too long. With my DHL tomorrow I'll include a birthday card for my poor Man. The second year we have missed being together on his birthday. Hope he's here for the 4th of July.
