Yes, assume it is going to be a combo interview and go with your wife.

I would not try to reschedule my interview as it will almost definitely further delay everything.

Thanks.  Going to NYC is a logistical issue.  And from reading the related post @HRQX provided others who have tried to move their cases closer failed unless there was a disability reason.

Waited so long and finally got something.  Plan is to go.

  2. My wife received her N400 interview notice while the I751 case is still pending.  She applied for N400 when she became eligible while waiting for the I751.  The notice doesn't mention anything about the I751.  Do we assume it is going to be a combo interview?  I read in past posts that some mentioned their letters asked their spouse also be present.  Her letter doesn't say anything like that; basically just ask for her, an interpreter (if needed) or attorney be present (If needed).  I plan to go anyway just in case it is a combo.

We live in North NJ and all along we are expecting the interview to be held in Newark NJ.  For whatever reason her N400 interview is in NYC.  Has anyone tried moving the case to their home state and reschedule?  Or is it better to just go instead of moving things around?  Any insights will be appreciated.  Thanks.

Second? I'm on my ninth...or is it tenth. I've lost count 😂

Phone the number, say 'infopass' and it will put you through to someone to schedule a callback. Lowest recent hold time for me was 12 mins, longest 80 mins.

Current standard callback time is stated as 20 days....in practice, they are routinely are taking up to 30 days right now.

'Urgent' callbacks - imminent travel or documents expiring for example - get a callback scheduled within 72 hours, often within just a few hours.

There is currently no other method of obtaining an infoass

We finally got through the line after about 30min wait.  Calling in the morning helped.  Thanks for the info btw.

My wife's stamp expires in less than 25 days and I pleaded with the agent for a more immediate appointment but was declined.  I was told someone would contact us w/n 30 calendar days.  If I don't hear back from anyone next week, I'm calling them again.  I hope the 2nd stamp will last another year.  I read some people are only getting 6 months at a time.

  4. I want to know if anyone has had any success getting a second ADIT stamp.

We applied for the I-751 in Feb 2019 and it's been pending for interview since April 2020.

Last year my wife got an infopass appointment after numerous tries calling the 800#s.  So far we haven't had much success....just today the line hung up on me once after 15 min and then twice more after more than an hour on the queue.  I'm most interested to find out if anyone had more than one ADIT stamp.  Any tips or experience are appreciated.  Thanks.

There is no need for a new stamp unless you need evidence of your status for travel or work.  We filed my wife's I-751 case in March of 2019.  We are still waiting for an interview, too.

Try asking for technical assistance at each prompt when you call USCIS.  It has worked for some people.

I kind of disagree.  A stamp is needed to renew her driver's license so she could drive to work and etc. And the DL is the photo ID she could use when banks or doctor's offices ask for ID.  When time comes for the interview, going into a gov't building will require some form of photo ID as well.  We filed ours in Feb 2019.

Will try your technical assistance idea the next time I call.  Thanks.

  6. My wife's I751 "ready to schedule for interview" status has been unchanged since April 2020.  Oct 2020 we scheduled an InfoPass appointment and got an ADIT stamp (I551 Stamp) because her extension letter was expiring.  Now we're almost where we were a year ago and with the stamp expiring soon.  I tried calling the 800 number with hopes to speak to a real person but time and again got turned down by the robot on the phone.  Apparently having an expiring I551 stamp doesn't meet their criteria to speak to an agent.  Is anyone having the same issue?   I'm guessing the expiration date is not close enough yet.  But I don't recall it was this difficult to get through to a real person last year.  Any tips to get through?

We also tried submitting an inquiry on the uscis processing times site but weeks went by and received no reply from the agency.

She also has her N400 pending.  Want to find out if anyone is having combo interview recently?  And want to know if USCIS will notify you about the cases will become a combo and how soon they'll inform you before the interview.  Thanks for any help in advance.

I continued to check for the official appointment letter and even sitting in the parking lot of USCIS today it said no appointment was found. Hubby went in at 7:25 a.m. this morning and was out around 7:56. He said he passed through airport like security and showed the guard the confirmation e-mail and appointment letter. He said he then went to reception and they told him to sit and wait. After about 10 minutes (there were 2 people ahead of him) he was called up to a little window. He gave the worker his passport and it was stamped for 1 year. They kept his green card. The worker also wrote in his passport that the I-751 and N-400 are pending. When my husband asked about that, the worker said "don't worry about your cases, they're coming soon". Unfortunately, no further clarification was provided. Both cases should be at the field office, so fingers crossed will get an appointment notice before the end of the year.

That's good the stamp is for 1 year.  So were you able to accompany your husband inside the USCIS office?  Or did you choose to wait outside?
Btw, finally I got that confirmation email 10 days later.  I guess better late than never.

This is the e-mail we received:

Dear PONJOR Thank you for your inquiry dated September 30, 2020. About scheduling an appointment: We are pleased we could assist you with your inquiry today via telephone. As discussed in our conversation, we have determined that this issue will best be addressed by your local USCIS Field Office. We scheduled an appointment for you at the Atlanta Field Office on DATE at TIME The Atlanta Field Office is located at 2150 PARKLAKE DRIVE , Atlanta, GA 30345, US. In an effort to minimize the number of individuals accessing USCIS offices during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, please do not bring additional individuals to your emergency appointment (except in the instances of minor children who cannot be left home, attorney representation, or if interpretation is needed). Also, face masks are required to enter a USCIS facility. You may print your appointment letter here.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to go through the security checkpoint and check in. You will need to bring documents that will help explain your question or problem with your case and valid government-issued identification. For more information about your local office, including parking and transportation details, please click here. In the future, you can visit myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov to sign up for a USCIS online account where you can explore filing online, send us secure messages and get instant updates on the status of your case. You can see your account information and make inquiries any time and on any device. We hope this information is helpful.

When we click on the link it takes us here:

    https://my.uscis.gov/en/appointment/v2

We click on view appointment and put in the information to reprint appointment letter.  At this time, we are still receiving No appointment found for that name and date of birth error message. Put if we click on change or cancel the appointment we see this:

We're bringing the confirmation e-mail as well as the Appointment Details page. See if you can login to the change/cancel appointment and print the information details.

Thanks so much for sharing the info PonJor!

I'm able to print out the appointment letter using the infopass webpage found on the USCIS site which i believe it's the same link you listed.  My appointment letter only has my wife's name, time and date and office address but none of the DOB, email, A# and receipt number details.  Not sure if each field office has different letter format?  My appointment letter has the barcode that you talked about before.  And the confirmation code next to the barcode matches the one that was given to us over the phone.  I'm guessing the pin # is to verify the appointment when you go there.  Still no confirmation email but when I reprint this info there's an area that says our appointment is confirmed.  I hope having this print-out letter will be enough.  Certainly we will bring all of our other documents with us when we go.  Many Thanks!!!

I don't think you need to fill out another form. I received the confirmation e-mail within 30 minutes. They told us as long as you have your date, confirmation, and pin you're good.

Curious does the confirmation letter have any info like where to go or who to ask to meet?  Sounds like you have the option to print the confirmation letter.  I still haven't received the confirmation email.  My concern is the person at the door won't let us in without that email or appointment print out.

Or we could request the extension letter by mail

Here's an update....I'm able to get through the 800# and also spoke with a Tier 2 today.  The agent gave me confirmation # and pin but I'm waiting for the confirmation email.  I read from other posts that it seems you need to bring a print-out confirmation to the infopass appointment.

I wish. I originally called on the 1st and was told we would be placed in a queue and should expect a call back within 5 days. However, they sent a confirmation e-mail saying we should hear back within 42-72 hours. I was getting antsy as I read other experiences saying how they were transferred to a tier 2 officer or waited on hold for one.. Because we called exactly at 8, I thought it was odd that she placed us in a queue (no one was available?). So, I called back on the 6th and immediately asked to be transferred to tier 2. This time, I was strong and stated we needed to be transferred to tier 2 as the extension letter was expiring (I told the first worker that, but maybe with less conviction?). The worker continuously asked if there was anything they could do and I had to repeatedly request to be transferred. They told me I might need to wait or even leave a message before tier 2 picked up and they gave me a reference number. Within 10 seconds of receiving the reference number, a tier 2 officer picked up and told me the only appointment they had was in 2 weeks. So we took it and they gave us the confirmation and pin number.

If you need an appointment, I recommend you call exactly at 8 and basically demand to be transferred to a tier 2 officer (none of that waiting in queue nonsense).

A tier 2 called back and gave us a date, confirmation and pin today but so far no email back....Am I supposed to fill out another online form using this info?  The agent talked super fast and after I gave him my email address he hung up like the very next second.  How long did you have to wait to get the confirmation email?

  12. Hi, I'm experiencing the same issues trying to get an Infopass appt for I551 stamp.  My wife's extension letter expires in less than 30 days.  When I called in Aug I was told to call again within the 30 day window.  Now I'm reading a lot of posts about now it's a 10-day window versus 30 days.  Monday I called the 800 # 3x and waited like an hour to speak to an agent.  On the call I was told that another agent (Tier 2 I'm guessing) will call me back from a specific phone number within 5 business days.  It's Day 5 now and still no call with the long weekend coming.

Cdn_Ali and Mr and Mrs Umer, did the Tier 2 agent call you back with the specific phone number they gave you?  How long did you have to wait when the Tier 2 agent call you back?

This happened to me while I was in the middle of filling the form. Whenever I log back in the stuff I filled out on the forms stayed but the documents I uploaded disappear every time. I think it's just buggy? I suggest to just fill out the entire form and just upload all the files you want to send when you're about to finalize everything and ready to actually file the application. When you finalize it, it will list all the documents that will go with your form so you'll know if they're attached to your application or not.

Also, once you do file the N-400 and USCIS notifies you that they're working on it, a tab will appear on your account where you can add more documents should you forget some when you initially sent out your application. I didn't necessarily forget anything from when I filed mine but decided to add more evidences to my case so I just uploaded them a few days after I initially filed the form online.

    Good luck! :)

Thanks for the tips!  Ended up uploading everything a third time and submitted during the same session.  Like you said the list of docs were listed in the snapshot.

  14. Having a lot of problems uploading the evidence docs online.  Notice that after logging out and signing in that the uploaded docs don't show up in the evidence area.  It's as if I didn't upload anything at all but I uploaded plenty.  My understanding is the website is supposed to save the information up 30 days and allows the applicant to return and review at later time.  I only started filling in out yesterday.

I used Chrome last night so I decided to try Firefox today.  After uploading the GC and marriage cert a second time along with other stuff I logged off.  When I sign back in to check the area is blanked again.  Is anyone having similar issue?  Do docs uploading have to be at the same session as reviewing the application?  Any tips would be appreciated.  Thanks!

  15. Hi,

Want to find out if anyone in NJ has gotten an interview for I-751 since the field offices reopened.  My wife's case status has been unchanged since early April.  USCIS stated our case is ready to schedule for interview and that they will send out a notice but haven't gotten any notice in the mail.  When COVID hit and the state in shutdown, our thinking was let's just wait and fully expecting everything to be delayed.  We'd go on the site everyday to see check for status but nothing changed.  And now there are news of USCIS furloughing staff due to budget issues.  The extension letter expires in Nov.  We applied in Feb 2019.

Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks.

  16. Hi,

My wife's extension letter is expiring in Nov.  Her last USCIS case status has been that they are ready to schedule for an interview and will send notice.  It's been the same status since early April but we haven't actually received a letter or appointment for the interview.

I checked the USCIS site for information about extension due to COVID19 but such extensions (EOS or COS) seem to only apply to visa holders (work or k3 etc).  I didn't see anything mentioned on those currently waiting to remove conditions (I751).

USCIS says the offices are supposed to reopen on 6/4.  We live in NJ and so far NJ gov't is slowly reopening.  I know there is still a bit of time.  At what point do you think we need to reach out to an attorney to get involved?  I read some have suggested contacting local congressman or senators but not sure how much help elected officials can lend at this juncture.  Does anyone know if there is a form to fill out to get the extension letter extended?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion and help.  Hope everyone is safe and well.

    Regards,

    JK

Hey JK2019, I am currently in the same situation you were in February... sent my I-751 on Saturday to the PO Box in Dallas, TX to be delivered today and it now says “Available for Pickup” on the USPS tracking website. How long did it take for you to receive a response from USCIS that they had received it? Or did it update to delivered when someone from USCIS picked it up? I am now growing more and more worried about my information not getting there, hopefully you can give me some insight!

Hi Shayden10, I received notice that the check was processed about a week after I sent the package.  USPS never updated the status during that week for me though.  When I called USPS, I was told that the person who's doing the pick-up likely did not sign for it and the package itself was picked-up along with other packages from the PO Box.  If you want to call USPS, be prepared to be on hold for a while.  I remember waiting on-line for 1hr 10 min before a real person answered.  Good luck!

That message is meant for the receiver, not you @JK2019.

USPS works closely with USCIS in the lockbox locations.  They won’t be the one rejecting the package.

GBOS, you're correct.  Finally got off the phone with USPS, that message is indeed for the recipient.  The rep on phone suspected that the package was left behind because it was waiting for a signature or whoever supposed to pick up didn't go to sign for them.  Nothing to do except to wait.  If no one signs for it, it will be returned.  Didn't have this problem mailing the K1 or AOS.  Thanks for your feedback.

  19. 1 minute ago, GBOS said:

I understand, but the fact that you filed is a proof and by law (has long been settled in court) mailing is a proof that you have filed it, if it ever comes to that legal dispute.

Also - The 90-day filing rule is to help mitigate this issue.  In the mean time, until you receive your I-797, if your card expires, there is not much you can do.

GBOS, appreciate your feedback.  I may try contacting the lockbox email later to see.

  20. Jwaiver2019, I have similar issue with my I751 filing to the Dallas PO box.  Just received the same action needed notice from USPS today.  My package arrived on Tuesday and it's been 2+ days now.  Getting very worried.  Don't know whether to wait, reschedule or let the package come back.  How were you able to contact the destination post office?  Appreciate any insight or tips.
