I went this morning and as we already knew the ASC was completely empty . 2 Employees where on duty ; one at the entrance and one inside, they both where just chilling around ! . I tried talking to them , they said if u don't have the appointment yet there is nothing they can do , and gave me bright and exciting idea to call USCIS!

JackP my husband received his biometrics appointment letter!! Did you get yours?

Any one from May filter still hoping and praying for Biometrics ? Or any other updates ?

Any update from you? Nothing in our end...right now processing receipt date for case inquiry for EAD is May 16 so we are close to being able to appeal on outside processing times if it doesn’t change again (a few weeks ago it jumped back in time when the estimated wait time was extended)

Our immigration attorney suggested we could try visiting the ASC office, but I don’t have high hopes, and as you just said, it’s completely empty but nothing is getting done. We called USCIS, and the agent we spoke with since I explained my husband’s situation (within 2 weeks of being outside normal processing time for 1-765, and our ASC has been open well over 90 days) she said she could submit a service request since our ASC has been open over 90 days and we haven’t received biometrics yet. So she submitted a service request for us this morning, but again they say to wait 30 days for a response....by that point our attorney will be submitting a case inquiry because it will be past the receipt date.

I am thinking of going to ASC Columbus next week and see if any one can help me with my BIO , has anyone ever heard of anyone who tried this ?

Did you go over to the ASC office? We still have not heard anything. I just checked the receipt date for submitting a case inquiry for the I-765 and it was May 3rd today...and our receipt date was May 18th so if it doesn’t come soon we will submit a case inquiry.

Doesn't it has to be the case outside of normal processing time to do that ?

I’m not sure...but at this point it’s getting ridiculous. These appointments are 5 minutes long and even if they shut down the office to only allow one person in the office for a biometric appointment at a time they would still get through more people. Someone earlier in the thread mentioned they found out appointments were reduced from like 150 down to 40 per day...yet BMVs are jam packed with people and social distancing with masks and cleaning between people at each window, schools are open with more people than that ...this is out of control slow.

We have all followed all the legal procedures, jumped through their hoops, played by their rules. If I don’t get movement and assistance from my representatives they won’t be getting my vote this year.

That's good , I am PD MAY 15th , and there are others too . I see a pin drop silence in Columbus area movements 😷

JackP, our Receipt Date is MAY 18TH, we have not heard anything from Columbus yet either...has anyone contacted our senators or congressman? In my area it’s Rob Portman, Sherrod Brown and Steve Stivers. I’m thinking of contacting them tomorrow.

Have anyone had Biometrics after reopening in CBUS?

No and it’s so frustrating...we filed AOS mid May and haven’t heard yet...they can’t be THAT backlogged from just closing end of March. I saw another person in a different thread say she actually walked in to just get some info and they people were very nice and said they were never busy and so it makes me wonder what the holdup is?!

Is anyone located in Columbus, Ohio? My husband still hasn’t gotten scheduled for biometrics. We got our NOA on April 20 but nothing yet. I know the offices were closed but they’ve been opened for over a month. I actually decided to go there and they were really nice and said they’re never full. There’s no line. Not that many people. So I’m starting to think we’ve been forgotten.

Hello! I came to search visajourney just for this! We are also in Columbus OH, my husband is applying for AOS from Canada and we have not heard anything about our biometrics appt and it’s so frustrating because I know the appointment is fast and they can’t possibly be THAT backlogged! We applied mid May and haven’t heard anything yet...I just want to know where Columbus is at in the process. All USCIS is saying is that we have to give them 90 days from the date the ASC opened (until OCTOBER 20) before we can really call to get an inquiry.

  9. Hello...we have FINALLY arrived at the point where we can schedule my finale's interview in Montreal for the K-1 France Visa...and there are no appointments available.  It is still on the payment page...but I don't see where I can actually go to pay the fee. When I click home it says to "pay fee" but when I click there it takes be back to the page that shows there are no appointment date available.  How long do you think we will have to wait/how far out will the interview be scheduled?

    Thanks for your help!!

  10. Hi Everyone,

I have read through several posts on here and appreciate everyone's advice, but I was hoping to get some guidance and input on my scenario in particular after providing some background information.

My boyfriend of 7 years is from Canada, and I live in the US (Ohio).  We are trying to decide which path is better for us (K-1 Fiancé Visa or the 1-130/Cr-1 Spousal Visa).

Boyfriend and I have visited back and forth regularly and have a lot of evidence of our bona fide relationship.  I have met his family/friends and he has met mine on many occasions. Neither of us have been married before or have any children.

    1. Boyfriend and I are both Catholic, and it is important to us to plan a wedding mass and reception in a church (and not live together until church ceremony). Does anyone have experience planning a church/religious marriage ceremony at the same time as the immigration visa process?  When is it best/safe to start making deposits and setting a date? Which visa (fiancé or spousal) is better for this scenario?

    2. In many ways it seems the CR-1 Spousal visa has its advantages (he would be able to work right away, and travel back and forth to Canada if needed for family).   Since we are not yet married though, my question/concern is, HOW DO WE ACCOMPLISH THIS?  If boyfriend comes here, does he tell the border security agent "I am going to get married and plan to return to Canada", OR does he simply say "I am going to visit my girlfriend" and then we get married and he goes back to Canada and then we proceed with the CR-1 Spousal visa process?  Does he have to tell Border guard agent upon returning to Canada that we got married? (Boyfriend does not stay here for extended periods of time as he and I both work, so its not like he can be here for 4 months and then we get married...which I have read is what most couples do) so as to not appear to be "planning" to get married ahead of time.

    3. Boyfriend and I are both hyper-aware and hesitant to do ANYTHING that would be suspect to visa fraud or having him denied at the Border.  At first, I thought the K-1 fiancé visa was the best route, because it is the safest way from ever being suspect to visa/immigration fraud, but I have seen CR-1 proposed at the more streamline and less expensive route, but I am concerned that he will have a hassle at the border when he would come to get married (even though he would leave and we would fill out CR-1 spousal visa)

    4. To use an immigration attorney or not? Has anyone used the "Visa Coach"?

    5. Online USCIS account/application or sending everything in via paper?

    6. Another thought that I had is if I go to Canada to get married and then return here and apply for CR-1 spousal visa...but again, do I tell the border agent "I am going to get married and pinky promise I'll return"?  What happens if stye say "no you can't come into the country"??  Has anyone had any problems with this and can share there experience?  (I think I would prefer for him to come here for legal marriage ceremony unless there's an overwhelming reason it would be better/easier to go there). What is involved in going to Canadian courthouse to get married?

Sorry this was so long but I wanted to give you all the information to hopefully provide the best guidance. Thank you all in advance for your assistance and advice!!
