  1. I had called them twice and they had insisted that my wife would not be allowed to transit with her Thai passport...I could not argue with them any further and risk them turning her away..Needless to say, we were in disbelief!! A friend on VJ also called them and were told the same thing!!

They cancelled our flight and I had to make new reservations with Cathay Pacific, paid quite a bit more, but we are scheduled to fly through Hong Kong on June 21..Hope for better results....Thanks for your advise!!!

  2. I just was informed by the Asiana Airlines that a thai national with a thai passport is not allowed to enter the United States, even if they are a wife of a US citizen or an LPR..

Maybe this is old news, but my plans to leave next week have been wrecked as they will not let my thai wife with a US visa travel to the USA till June,30, 2020.. I guess I have to find another way home...

This will be the 3rd cancellation for us and my wife's visa expires on the 4th of July...Very disappointing thatI was never informed of it by the airlines or the travel agency...

  3. Hello Guys,

I just want to be sure I am not missing anything,as we are leaving from Thailand to LAX airport on June 9.My wife already has her IR-1 visa in her passport:

    1.passport

    2.sealed medical documents

3.packet that was sent from the US Embassy(sealed)

Is there anything else that she needs as far as documents and is there anyone who has gone through this recently that might have any tips as to what else we might have to deal with at the airports aside from covid-19 related precautions???

  4. At this time, I am not sure if I am able to go back home..I am waiting to hear the details of this "executive order"..I am hoping there will be lawsuits blocking his directive as there was with his previous travel bans which went al the way to the Supreme Court..I think this is just another political move to get him re-elected and divert people's attention from the fact that he mishandled this entire covid_19 sutuation

  5. So, this is terrible news, my wife already received her IV visa and our flight was recently cancelled to the U.S. on April 1...I am 71 years old and have underlying health conditions and need to see my family doctor for treatment where I have Medicare coverage.. I am a US citizen, born and raised in New York. My daughter is my co-sponsor for my wife and now I can't get back to get treatment and I will be stuck in Thailand under the "executive order" by President Trump...It already has cost me a lot emotionally and financially and have already paid my fees including for my wife's green card!!…

Many of you are also in a difficult situation!! I hope that this order will be challenged by congress and should be suspended till the Supreme Court can rule on this.. It is definitely unconstitutional and should be delayed till the Supreme Court votes on this political agenda...Good Luck to all and stay healthy

  6. Thanks, but EVA also shut down operations and I couldn't find a anything with ANA, things are just changing too quickly..I will just take my refund and hope that things will improve by next month and we'll still be able to get home and tend to my medical needs and my family there..Thanks for trying and hope things are improving where you live...

  7. Yes, I realize these are all hypothetical questions and there is still a possibilty that the U.S. will not issue a worldwide ban that would include U.S. citizens and their IV wives. The tax filing is officialy on 7-15-20 and even that can be changed....I imagine the big obstacle at this point is for my wife to find a job during this crisis. She would definitely make a good nanny as so many people who still need to go to work have very few options with child care, but it might be difficult going around looking for work during a lockdown..Thanks again...

  8. Hey guys I have all our plans set to go to California

My wife has her IR-1 visa in hand, but I am 71 years old and have underlying medical conditions, so it is not prudent for us to travel right now. I have diabetes and COPD and therefore it is very dangerous for me to travel, according to all the experts@@

I am a US citizen, but I heard the president say for US citizens to come home now or you might not be able to come back in the near future.

My wife’s visa will expire July 4 and if conditions worsen, will it be possible to get an extension on her visa?

It would seem only fair that they (USCIS) would make some exceptions if we’re unable to enter the USA. Any thoughts would be appreciated. My wife is also terrified to fly at this awful time. Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Having to start the process all over again would be financially and emotionally draining..After all we have followed all the rules and regulations and are legally trying to come home and bring our spouses or fiance's with us..We should not be punished for this, as this is no fault of our own

  9. I'm hoping I can get some continued help in this group, so far you guys have been very helpful.. So, I filed my I-130 petition on June 27,2019, by going to bkk using the DCF option..I received a letter from USCIS saying that my case was approved for processing along with instructions for downloading and filing packet#3..However, it seems that I must have a receipt#, to use my online account and download certain forms..Does anyone know how long it takes to get this Welcome letter from USCIS with the receipt#, so I can try toprocess it before they change the forms on October 14,which by the way is a Thai national holiday, sodoes it have to be postmarked before that date?? so confused?? Thanks in advance..Barry Lipschitz
  10. Well, it could be better...I received the case#, but apparently, I still have to wait for e-mail with receipt# to be able to download certain forms and I am trying to do this all before Oct.14, when they will change forms that will make it more difficult for sponsorship (I-864) petition and also I need proof of why I haven't filed taxes in the US, and that is because I have been retired for 8 years and have no taxable income.. and I believe that takes some time to get, so I am playing the waiting game like every one else..At least DCF filing should be quicker then sending to a lockbox.. Keep in touch, if you'd like..Barry
