  1. Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has filed for this. My husband (US Citizen) adopted my Canadian born children and now I have to file for this to get it finalized. Just wondering if anyone has had any problems or if there is anything I should know before I send it off.

    thanks

    Vicki

  2. Hello everyone,

I am applying for USA Citizenship at the beginning of 2011 (my 3 years will be up then). I have two 9 year old daughters that my USA Citizen husband has just adopted, they were residents, same as me. I'm not sure how I have to go about this. I will apply for myself, what do I do with my girls that were legally adopted by my husband that were in permanent resident status for 10 years.

Sorry if any of this sounds confusing, but I really don't know how to put the question.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  3. I am traveling to Canada on February 4th. I have yet to receive my new GC. I am assuming I need to take my 1 year extension letter with me in my passport with my GC to re-enter the US on the 7th?

I travel back and forth all the time. No problems I just give them the letter with my card. I live a stone throw from the border, so I'm an old hat at crossing.

.....and playing the waiting game too...lol!

  4. Hello everyone,

I do know that I am still in the waiting process to get my 10 year gg, but thinking ahead I want to get a head start or at least think of everything for my Naturalization before it is a problem.

Here is my problem: I live on the USA/Canada border. I have spent many days in Canada, not more than 4 at a time, but they want a listing for the last 5 years. I do not remember. Wow, I barely remember last year.

Has anyone had this circumstance? or can help us?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Cheers

    Hello everyone,

I have just gotten as much as I can together to send into CSC. I haven't gotten as much as I had hoped, but this is what I'm going to send in:

    - copies of green cards (myself and twin daughters)

    - bank records from when we opened the acct, middle, and the most recent statement

    - joint tax transcripts from 07 and 08

    - copy of car insurance and ownership in both our names

    - copy of health insurance with our names and my kids on it

    - copy of airline/car rental itinerary from our last vacation to Florida

    - copy of Travel Club we purchased together that shows both our names

    - many pics of us through the last 4 years (from when we met to now)

That is it. I wonder if I need any affidavits as well???

We do not have rent/mortgage or any utility/phone bills in "our" name. I live with my husband on the "family homestead" that is all under the families name, we do not pay rent or anything...just repair when required and make sure it is habitable for the next generation of farmers. All the utilities are and have been in just my husbands name for years, so we saw no need to change it.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Vicki

  6. Hi Vicki,

Do you have to go to Fargo for your biometrics? I just went there myself. I was the only one and was super easy and the lady was very nice.

I made the trip in one day 4.5 hours driving there 15 mins to do the biometrics and 4.5 hour drive home. That really sucked!

Yes, I do have to go to Fargo as well. When I went the first time, it was me and my girls and our appointments were 1/2 hr apart. Since we were the only ones they took us in all at once...lol. We were out of there in less than 1 hr. So needless to say, I'm sure it will be the same thing again. The drive from here is about 8 hrs. We live in the far northwest side of ND..about 13 miles from Montana and 7 from Canada. Luckily I have relatives in Fargo and my stepson goes to school in Whapeton, so we can stay at least one night.

Good to see you on here again. Its been a long while since I have been on here, but I guess I haven't had any questions/problems until now!!

  7. Hello everyone,

I am wondering about my situation. My greencard was approved in Dec '07, but my childrens not until Feb '08. They were all filed at the same time, but due to the fact that some of the paperwork was "not received" (ahem really "lost" at their end) I had to get additional paperwork to them before they would approve my children.

Well the time is soon approaching where I have to file my paperwork.

So do I file it all with mine even though theirs was not approved until about 3 mos later? Or do I file mine when I need to and them file theirs the 90 days prior to expiry? This is really going to be a pain simply because I live about 350 miles away from where I have to do my biometrics. So instead of 1 trip it just might be a 2 trip deal.

    Enjoy the day!

  8. Oh thank God. I thought it was gone forever. That was my entire life savings. I was going to purchase some hotels for my properties on Boardwalk and Park Place, but then I was sent directly to jail without passing go and I lost track of it after that. Emancipation, I'll trade you free rent whenever you land on my properties if you give me the number of the guy to call. Thanks a lot.

OK...I just wanna know if you actually ate all the brocolli?
