  1. Don't be discouraged. The processing time listed is for the OLDEST case they are working on. I submitted my husband's I-30 and it was approved in 68 days. (See my timeline below.) If you case is relatively straight forward, you shouldn't have a problem and will get through the system soon enough.

Just get your papers together, triple check everything for accuracy and send it off.

  2. Thanks for the support. You're right. This won't be the only baby.. my husband wants 10! We've decided on two for right now. I told him he can have the other eight. :jest:

I'm due at the end of May but my doctor says I'm probably going to be late. (ALL the girls in my family including myself were late and so was his sister.) I'm counting every extra day so he might be able to come back in time but at the rate things are going things aren't looking so good.

My family has volunteered to be with me so I won't be alone and I plan to ask my doctor when is the earliest I can fly. (If my husband can't be here, then we'll go to him!)

I do have one question: how sleep deprived are you for the first few weeks? Can you function like normal? I have to be able to go back to work asap after the birth so I'm a little worried about being coherent! Any experienced mom's out there know the answer to that?

We have 3 months until our little one arrives and I haven't bought anything! Tomorrow I will hopefully buy a crib so she has a place to sleep!

  3. I went to the doctor today and found out that I'm measuring "small" and anemic... all the stress in my life isn't helping!

I'm slowly coming to terms with the idea that my husband will not be by my side when I give birth. At first I was depressed but then I realized all those women that have husbands overseas have the same problem as me and at least my husband isn't in any danger! Plus I'm sure I'm not the first person on VJ to have this happen, the immigration process being what it is.... Ok maybe I haven't completely given up hope. If his I129F comes through before the end of March, we still have a shot of him being here.

The good news is that I passed the glucose test. I was 107.. and you're supposed to be below 140. Yay!!

  4. Hi all,

I received an approval notice in the mail for my husband's I-130 weeks ago. Only today did I get not one but TWO emails from uscis stating this was approved and the they mailed me the approval notice today?!

They must be seriously out of sync because I've had that piece of paper in hand for awhile now. They couldn't have sent it today! I wonder if that means my I-129F is approved and just don't know it yet.. :innocent:

  5. Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this thread and basically new to this forum. My husband and I are expecting our first at the beginning of June. :star: She is a bit of a suprise but we're thrilled. We're waiting on his K-3 to come through so hopefully he'll be here before the baby arrives!

(And as someone that just took the glucose test.. I agree. Its the worst thing ever!)

  6. Hi !

I am French and just married and my american wife who lives in the US is going to file the I130. I want to be able to visit her while the I130 is on process. So I called the department of state (number on travel.state.gov ) and the women I spoke to told me that I can come to the us as usual with the waiver program and that it is not going to disturb anything... I was surprise and ask for confirmation and she said that it was like this.

So I am very surprised and preoccupied by reading that some customs officers did not let enter some of you in this situation !

It seems so hard to know by to do !!!

Sorry, I was using an American expression "read us the riot act" just meant that he yelled at us and gave us a hard time. I would go with whatever information you received from the embassy/consulate.

  7. Hi Folks,

Had a question concerning visitor visas during spouse visa processing. Sorry for beating a dead horse if this question is similar to any previous posts, but couldn't locate anything on this.

    Details:

    - Husband (me), US Citizen, reside in California

    - My wife, Indian Citizen

    - Married on Jan 25th 2007

She had a visitor visa appointment at the Mumbai Embassy prior to meeting me, to visit her friends in US and appear for a physical therapy law exam. However after we decided to get engaged in Aug 2006, she changed her visitor visa appointment date to March 20th 2007.

I recently sent in the I-130 application packet to begin her K3 visa process. (still haven't got NOA1)

    The question I had was:

Does she 'legally' have a chance to secure the visitor visa on March 20th which she had planned for before our marriage, or does this immigrant (I-130) visa application preclude her from getting the visa based on law? She intends to fully disclose all facts at the interview... no secrets. And she does intend to return to India after her visit and wait out the rest of the K3 processing.

Anybody see any problems? Will this have any negative impact on the K3 process?

    :help:

    /UM

My recent experience: My husband was almost turned back at immigration at the airport. He is from Singapore and under the visa waiver program they are automatically granted 90 days. They read us the riot act saying that he is not allowed to visit under the visa waiver program because he has an application in for I-130 which was in their computer. After a lot of conferring with a VERY NICE immigration officer that went through the immigration process with his wife, they let my husband into the country. We're not risking this again so unless I go to him, we won't be together until after his K-3 comes through.

I've read other postings about people being turned back at the border. Maybe she can consult the embassy before trying to enter the country.

  8. Here's my deal. Sent out my I-130 (Filing for K-3). I got the I-130 NOA1. I sent out the I-129F, BUT I sent it to Vermont instead of Chicago. Weeks went by I hadn't heard anything about the I-129F, so I sent out another one, but this time to Chicago. Well, I got my NOA1 back for the one I sent to Chicago. today, I got an email that my I-129F(Chicago) had been sent to the NVC. Then in mail (snail mail), I got a NOA1 for the one I sent directly to Vermont. I know they're diffrent cause they both have different reciept numbers. What should I do?

I'm actually in the same situation because of the post office. They never sent back the signature delivery notice... so we have two NOA 1's for I-129F too. I've been tracking them both on the status page. Both have been "touched" and the check was never cashed for the second I-129F so I guess they figured it out. Meanwhile our I-130 was approved so I'm hoping to hear about our I-129F soon.

  9. I would not put your married name on the forms unless you have legally changed it. (I have not changed to my married name yet either because of all this. Once my husband's visa is through then I will change it.) Besides, you never know. They might take your SS# look at the form, see conflicting names and send out an RFE. Why risk wasting the extra time?

  10. I honestly think they keep the date delayed so they don't have to answer questions from over eager people. ( like me! :P ) Plus there are some really complicated cases out there.. the information that needs to go back and forth etc..

And we all know this system isn't "blind" the way its supposed to be. People with education or from countries with lower immigration rates seem to get through the system faster.

  11. I have filed the I-129F for my husband and we're patiently waiting for approval. (Touched Feb 13, 2007) We have already received our approval for our I-130...

I keep reading all these posts about both forms being approved at the same time.... so I guess I'm getting my hopes up. (And stalking the status website plus the postman!)

Is there any chance he will have his visa by the end of May?
