  1. My wife and I have decided that we are really not meant for each other and so have decided to divorce. The question comes in that September is the time that we should file for the removal of conditions so she and her son can get their ten year green cards. There is no angst between us just two people who can't live together. She wants to be able to stay in the US as we have a two year old together and of course I want her to stay for this same reason. What should we do to make this work for the both of us?

  2. for example with healthcare.
well, if the government takes all our money, we will not have any.

why do u make the smilies the other way?? (: instead of :)
It's just a more natural way to do it. Hold the shift key down with the left hand - then the right hand finds the ( then the : then the <return> key as it sweeps from left to right. If you make it the other way, the right hand has to switch direction mid-flight.

For one thing the way you are making it it is not a smile it is a frown. Note: :)= smile (: = frown

  3. William Miliken was hardly a republican when he was in office. And as far as the guy from Minnesota well let's just look at the basic politics there. I have my doubts that he was much more than a RINO either.

  4. Excuse me I forgot to add military installations, diplomatic missions, U.S protectorates. You can keep trying all you want if he doesn't meet those criteria he is not natural born.

I happen to know just a little about this as my son was born in Ukraine. He is considered in the same manner as a person born in the U.S. as far as passports etc. are concerned but he connot run for the office of the President of the United States.

  5. I realize that this thread might be all in fun, but here is the definition of a natural born citizen:

The requirements for citizenship and the very definition thereof have changed since the Constitution was ratified in 1788. Congress first recognized the citizenship of children born to U.S. parents overseas on March 26, 1790, under the first naturalization law: "And the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond sea, or outside the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens." (See ref. for the Act of 1795)

Even if he was born in Kenya, which he wasn't, he is still a natural born citizen due to his mother being from the US.

Racist, bigoted idiots!!!! And on an immigration website no less!

Well if you actually knew what you were talking about you would know that for a person to become president of the United States they have to be born IN the United states. Being the offspring of a U.S. citizen and being born outside the borders of the U.S. doesn't qualify you.

  6. Well if you are so well versed then you know (my paraphrase) "a day is like a thousand years"? Meaning quite obviously that the seven days of creation were not literal 24 hour days. Even the most diehard fundamentalists pretty much agree on this point.

Is it not conceivable to you that there were a lot of thing happening during that time other than just the few things mentioned in Genisis? It seems to me that the strict eveloutionists are the ones who have the brain cramp. Very few of the more mainstream Christian religions teach in the way you are mentioning.

Since God is eternal the being and the end is it not coveivable to you that his view of time is quite different than our finite view? For instance we can only see the time that has passed whereas God can see both the past and the future.

I find it pretty amusing for those that say they are so "Well versed" and yet can't think. This is called being educated beyond your intellect.

  7. Last time I went through Odessa (admitedly three years ago) There was no metal detector or wanding going on for those coming into the country. Heck they don't even have such things in Borisypol. The only thing they did was put my bags through an x-ray machine.

Now if it was me I would have the ring in my carry on and before disembarking the plane in Odessa put it in my pocket. and then follow the green line. If they ask you if you have anything to declare just say "no" I have never seen them pursue it further.

The reason they ask about womens jewlwery is because so many guys go to Odessa. On most flights I've been on there's more foreign guys than Ukrainian. So this why the customs guys/gals are looking for a shake down.

This is also a good reason to not try to bring western ideas of engagement with you it encourages problems.

  9. We are approved!!!!!:dance: Talked to NVC about 10:00pm last night and was told we were appoved. So now on to Kiev for medicals and interview!!!:dance::dance:

Congrats, it won't be long now. Follow the paperwork requirements closely and call the embassy in about 4 weeks if you haven't received the information packet from them. It's pretty easy stuff once you get past the NVC. Good Luck!

Hey Blake thanks for the congrats  Just so you know CR-1 works a bit different than the K-1 process at this point. Embassy should have her paperwork from NVC in about two weeks then they will set up the interview.

  10. Congratulations! Now to speed things along...some tips.

DO NOT wait for the consulate to receive the petition and then send Packet 3. You could be waiting a LONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG time. Go to the embassy webiste and download Packet 3 and get to work on it. (if you haven't already) Your fiancee can get the police check now if she has not already. You can get the medical exam as soon as you have your KEV number which will be on the letter you receive from the NVC.

Email the consulate 2 weeks after you receive your letter from NVC. Reference your case number and ask if your case has been received. Email them at kyiviv@state.us By the time they receive this you should be able to have all your documents for the interview. As soon as they say they have your case, call the "call center" and make your appointment. Even with this effort, you can expect to wait until perhaps 2 months from the NOA2 date before your interview. Perhaps faster. Our NOA2 date was May 15, the first interview date we were offered was June 23 but we could not make it to that date. The next date was August 7 and we made that one! So be prepared and take the first date offered if you can, because the next may be another 6 weeks or so.

Good luck, the interviews in Kiev are super easy IF you have all the documents in order.

    Gary

Hey Gary, Thanks for all the tips. I noticed that you have filed for a K-1 we filed a CR-1 so had to send the police report to NVC along with the DS-230 only document she has to provide for the interview will be the travel approval for her son. All the rest will come to the embassy from NVC.

Since you filed a K-1 your procedure is a bit different. Thanks again.

  11. The better system would be to go back to the pre 1900 system where you ran for president or vice president and you could end up with say a Republican president and a Democrat for vice president. Really the only way a third party will ever get a viable candidate in the or near the white house. Of course this why now both president and vice president run on the same ticket. Don't want anybody shaking up the status quo.

  12. Being that I live just outside(thank God) the S***hole that trys to put its self out as a cultural mecca etc. etc. I have found that a good share of the people that live in this area are just plain lazy and stupid. It's all about having a good time. Your freaking house can be falling apart, but it's more important to have an expensive big party than to fix your house.

Oh and nearly three years later you've still got blue tarps on your roof rather than get it fixed. Or your still living in FEMA trailer crying about your road home money instead of getting your A$$ to work and getting the repairs done.

Streets three years later still lined with flooded out houses sitting empty and vacant an eyesore and just asking for more trouble. These people build houses in places where you wouldn't be allowed to build in most states. You ask them why would you build in an area that floods and they have no good answer.

By the way back when New Orleans was founded the indians to them where the best places to build were that wouldn't flood and those places didn't flood during Katrina. Now if you go look at where the breach in the canal was, there is the top of the canal and thirty feet below are houses. Now I don't know about you but if I build a house I want it to be above water not thirty feet below.

It's not all bad here I have met some sweet and genuine people but they are by far the minority. Most are whiners looking for a handout or to do the least work possible with the lowest quality. And they don't even care if they make crappy wages just as long as they don't have to work too hard. The others are totally arrogant whiners expecting that you should do something for them just because they think they deserve it. After all they're "somebody".

Government should have just let the place remain a dead zone and moved on.

  13. Not one person in this topic has prayed for that poor old woman who is now a widow. Shame on you folks! May she find peace in her terrible awakening and sadness of losing her husband. Sick. These unfortunate crimes happens ALL the time ALL around the world.

i pray she finds smith&wesson to prevent any repeats.

Amen to that Charles! No better way for a bad guy to get religion.

  14. OK we're finally getting into the final stages have received the IV bill and will pay that on Monday. Lena has all her documents ready and the DS-230 filled out. Now we are planning for the interview.

We know she has to take the ability to ommigrate document for her son as well as her medical vaccination records. The I-134 and proofs of on going relationship besides her passport and and copies of all the documents she sent to NVC what other paperwork does she need to take with her to the interview? We're hoping that we might have an interview by the end of September.

    Thanks

  15. All the above is why I no longer waste my time, money or patience at the gym. Bought a kettlebell get a workout better than at the gym. No wasted dues, No wasted time in travel or waiting for a machine. And no wasted emotions being frustrated.
