    hi everyone

does anyone know how long it takes after the second medical to issue the visa. I have been in AP 18 months now. also I have heard some say that they will probably ask to do a re-oath but some others say that they haven’t asked for a re-oath. how about your experiences did they ask you guys for re-oath?

My fiance's second medical was in May. My lawyer said since my fiance's interview was over a year ago, the Embassy will most likely do an interview again but the Embassy is closed. So i am pretty sure his medical exam will expire before they can do that 😭  Has anyone heard when the Embassy in Kabul will open again?

@NeHAZ16 Did you or or anyone you know go through administrative processing while trying to come to the United States?

My fiancé has been in AP for 13 months. I know a couple other Afghans  who are also in AP and have been for a while. There are also several  Afghans on here too who have been waiting for a year or more. Like GreenBaum said, there is no way to predict how long AP will take. Good luck!

Hello eveyone I have noticed a trend happening at the US Consulate in Kabul, Afghanistan. I looked up every K1 visa timelines concerning visas received for the last year and a half after the interview at the Kabul Embassy. What I have noticed is this nearly 13 couples have been faced with what's called Administrative Procedure after the interview has been done. This worries me because I been hearing it can weeks up to years before you are given a decision with the administrative procedure process. I would like to know how many people are being faced with this process and what countries besides Afghanistan are being effected. I have made it to the point where the application is approved and now is being sent to the Kabul Embassy. The issue is will it be worth the effort and money to go ahead with paying for all of the fees if there really is no hope that my fiance will have slim odds of receiving a visa any ways. If anyone has received their visas after this Administrative Procedure after the interview at Kabul Embassy please inform of how long it tock and if the recepiant is female or male. Thanks for reading this post and I will appreciate all your input on this subject.

My fiancé (a malehas been in AP for almost 13 months. We started the process almost two years ago. Almost everyone who has a case with the Kabul embassy is still waiting especially if the person wanting a visa is a male. I remember a month or two ago, one or two people on this website got their visa after 17 months on AP so I’m hoping my case will get approved in a few months. It’s so unfortunate that so many people are on AP but there’s nothing applicants can do except make sure they have  a strong case and do the paperwork right. It seems like your unsure if you want to apply but I would advise you to since  there is really no other way and it is definitely worth it  if you want to be with your fiancé. Also it seems like many cases do get approved as long as there’s nothing suspicious  but it just takes a while so just be ready to wait a 1 1/2- 2 years. Good luck!

    Hey guys,

So my fiancée has taken my MFA-CERTIFIED translation of taskera with her to USA by mistake. As you all know it's a requirement to have it with you in your interview. Is it ok if I take a copy of it with me? Or do I need the original one?

("Taskera (Original Dari version) and MFA-certified English translation.")

The above quote is email from the embassy.

Hey, Im not sure if you got your answer yet but I think you need the original taskira for the interview.

My fiancé just had his interview yesterday and was put in Administrative Processing.  All the collected from him was the financial packet and engagement photos.  Today they sent him an email and word document to fill out.  Did you get this as well?

Has anyone heard of a man getting a fiancé visa from Afghanistan recently?

My fiancé is there now and has been waiting 6 months since his interview. Our case is in AP. Has anyone heard of AP taking less than a year for a man from Afghanistan in 2018/2019?

I know 2 women who were only in AP for less than 2 months. But I haven’t heard of any men getting visas.

Nope. My fiancé has been in AP for around ten months and we haven’t heard anything since then. Unfortunately for many people it’s taking a year or more  which is really frustrating.

The embassy said it was no problem if we took the passport back to travel. I have traveled with my Afghan fiancé to Dubai, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan.

Ohhh okay that’s really interesting ! I didn’t know those countries  would even let someone with an Afghan passport travel there. Thanks for letting me know!!

Salam, Hopefully your fiance got his/ her visa by now. Just a quick question.

When you were informed about your interview date, did the embassy email you and also called your fiance? Or just emailed you? Because I have missed my interview once, don't really know how and what was the cause. ( Found out about it from the reply for my inquiry email). Now they put it back in the queue. I am just trying to not miss it again. TIA

Walaykum Asalaam, no visa yet unfortunately. I think the embassy just emailed me for the interview date and for my fiancé’s appointment at the  medical center. I am so sorry that happened to you. Make sure the embassy has your correct email address and even though they didn’t email my fiancé, make sure both of you are constantly checking. Also check your spam/ junk, just in case it goes in there. Goodluck!

Hi everyone! My husband’s case is a CR1 in AP at the kabul embassy. I’ve emailed them countless times, almost every morning😅, and I have yet to hear back from them. They have his passport but we haven’t gotten any information for almost 4 months now. Anyone else had any luck?

Hi! It usually takes the embassy a few days to reply to my emails but when I emailed them in December it took them almost a month to reply. They always reply with a generic email about AP so I haven’t really gotten any information either.

I know some people get responses and some dont and I’m not sure how the embassy decides who to respond to. Maybe just stop emailing them so often and wait a few weeks before you email them ?

I’ve heard it’s a good sign if they have his passport so hopefully  you will hear something soon!

Salam to my fellow K1-visa applicants,

My case was sent from NVC to Kabul embassy about 4 months ago. And as it shows on ( visa status check site) the case was created on 12th Oct in Kabul embassy, then updated the status on 12th November to ( READY). It's been more than 3 months that the case was created, but I still haven't got notified for interview appointment. Anyone else in the same situation?

Walaykum Asalaam, I remember my case was sent from the NVC to the embassy and then 5 months later I got an interview date. I’m not sure how long others had to wait but this is what happened to me. Be patient and hopefully you will get a interview date soon!

So, they replied after one month?

Did your case get updated during this one months or it got updated when you got the reply? I am asking this because i emailed them on January 7th, I got an update on January 8th but haven't got any response yet.

Yes, after one month. They updated my case January 15 and then when they emailed me on January 17, they updated my case again.
