  1. Hello Everyone

The stress of waiting for any new to when this AP will end is something special. Today my husband told me that he believes that the Lady investigator that interviewed us contacted him for additional questions and to check to see if he may have moved while he is in the Ap process... He answered all the questions that she asked.

While we are Happy that in the Embassy contacted us finally. Our excitement will not really begin till he has his visa in hand....We don't want to have our hopes to high to be let down again... It is hard enough to be separated and continue to have a marriage. Only for someone to give you hope only to take it away with just a single word...

I'm praying that this is sign that others will be contact soon also..

  2. Husband went to interview on May 22, the everything was going good he answered all the question, showed them the emails,IM and pictures. I think my husband said the interviewer asked when was the last time you saw your wife and my husband told her she is outside waiting...The CO went to the computer entered something came back gave him the dreaded blue sheet 221g. Which said for him and I to come the need day...We did and say the investigating lawyer. Answered all the question. She said we were approved. Said they would call. Now we are on the waiting game for this turn in the road...Came home immediately called DOS. was told by then that they could only read what the put on computer but as they see all the docs and evidence was proofed but we were put on AR.... Is this our Embassy or theirs is my question? I have stated to compose a letter to my congressman to see if he can figure this out... The people there I understand are Nigerian...But Still I can't figure this is the United States Embassy there....Sorry I'm still hurt that I had to leave there a third time without my husband....I know many have made more trips there and left their love one...This hurts and it is not right.... Yes there is lot of fraud there but there is lot here and all over the world... But don't condemn our love ones for living in that country and falling in love with us, and us with them..

Sorry everyone. I guess need to let off steam. and seeing this post open a this fresh wound more...

Hopefully they will figure that we have did out checking also...With someone that know the answer...GOD...

Take care.. hope everyone that been on this side road call AP and also the one that just turned on it ( like me) will so find the fast express road home in our arms and theirs...GOD is giving the the direction we are following his word...But they are not listening.

Please forgive me for being so long

On AR since 5/22 for his..... 5/23 for ours together

  3. Hello everyone, I just got home from naija and sad that we were put on AP. Husband went to interview on May 22, was given blue paper for second interview May 23 for me to come. Was told we are approved and wait for call. Still waiting.

  4. Hello,

I didn't remember, looked up the copy that I send for my husband. I also asked him to make sure.

We only had to use the barcode to make a cover sheet for the DS-230 when we sent it... I did write on the top right side of the form my husband NVC number and did this will all the document that I sent to NVC. Just in case of being misplace.

The copies of the document that I took to my husband I wrote his NVC number....LOL I just don't want any mistake this far into the journey to be together...

But as far as you children I don't know did have to do this.

Congrads to all that will have interview soon. And to all of us that is still waiting our prayer will so be answered.

I filed my I 130 in June and still waiting for the NOA2, but....your right cause a friend of mine filed in early May and she just got her NOA2 last saturday. she seen it online, it said that they were sending her a letter out on Sept. 6th. and of course she was very happy.

    Aisha

Well is t here is any concilation to all this, I just check out of curiousity at the USCIS site, and it is still saying that my petition is pending and was submitted March 22. I have been approved and almost to the completion with NVC.. So they really need to have someone up date, as I have msgs saying they update he site....But then thinking if they have someone do this, it might take them away from working on some loveones petition... Sorry just wanted to put my two cents in to this that. Should also say that I notified by snail mail of approval not online, even tho I opt for this...

  7. Click on this link. This will give you a better picture and understanding how each forms correlate with each other.

    NVC Flowchart for CR1/IR1

I think I do understand your dilemma, but I could also be wrong.

    (1) Your DS3032 was submitted, once received this will generate your IV Bill.

    (2) IV Bill was received and was just mailed a week ago, right?

    (3) Your AOS fee bill was paid, sent and processed by the NVC. Next step was an I-864 submission

    (4) You were told by NVC that your I-864 was fine, and found no problems. Thus, a checklist was sent to you OF-230-I stating that your

DS230 was required in order to continue on and process your visa application.

A checklist (OF-230-I) is a normal procedure when NVC notifies the petitioner that the next step of the process is the DS230 application forms from the beneficiary, thus will be noted as "missing information". Once your IV Bill payment is processed by NVC, this will generate your actual DS230 coversheet. It will take at least 7-10 days for the IV Bill to be entered in the system from the date you sent and mailed your payment in.

I hope this answers your questions.

Yes this has help so much.. with the checklist of missing documents is the cover Checklist letter of Response to attach to front of documents. Also the envelope with APPT stamped.. So this should be it...

I don't know how I wouldn't have made it this far with other like everyone on Vj. Thank you so much...

Now the praying for the interview to be soon..

    Thank you again

  8. and i guess u only need to send ds-230part 1 along with photocopy of ur wife's passport.ds-230 part 2 will be sent to ur wife when the case will be transfered to respective embassy

    Hi Tamz,

Where did you get this information? All consulates are different and they all have different requirements. While your Embassy/Consulate may only request the DS-230 and a photocopy of the passport biographic page, other countries require the petitioner to send in all the civil documents (birth certificate, marriage cert. etc etc) along with the DS-230 - parts 1 and 2 - with part 2 left unsigned.

So while the above may be true for Pakistan, it may not apply in the original poster's country of application.

Everyone should check the instructions here: Applicant Document Processing before submitting the DS-230.

Good luck with your visas :)

    Hello Credzba, Tamz, Trailmix,

Ok this is how I did this and this what I have received, I sent the DS 3032 to NH and the the AOS to St Louis, Call and found that all have been accept via Operator at NVC. I then sent the I-864 and was waiting and received in the mail a checklist saying Missing Document List for XXXXX, The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support (I-864). However, we are still waiting for the Immigrant Visa fee. Please submit the fee according to the instructions on the IV fee bill sent to you. then says if you haven't received it to call...

I called and was told that this was generated 3 days after this letter...But checking the dates of the correspondence the IV Bill dated 8/26, and the Checklist Missing I230 dated 8/28. Now I am a bit confused...Checklist arrives first, the the IV which I sent to St. Louis approx. 1 week ago..

Oh forgot that to mention that talking to whoever at NVC the said that my I-864 doc seem to be in order??? how is this with out the I-230 or am I wrong?

  9. Hello Everyone on VJ

I haven't posted in a long time. So congrads to all that are nearing the end of their journey to be with loveones. Wishes of the best to all the have their loveone here with them finially after such a long process. And all the patience to those that are either starting the process or in the middle with all the paperwork that is needed, and the waiting time.

I have continued to always read the topics, advice that many have given everyone...

But now I am almost to the end of my journey here in the US and then on to the Over Seas Embassy and the waiting there for the approval for my husband to finally be with me.

Here is what I need advice about:

I have completed and sent the IV bill in and has been accepted... I have the completed DS-230 Part I & II and Part I signed by husband.... But the info that was sent with the IV bill said not to send the DS-230 till I was notified or this could cause a delay in the processing.... I want to send it in now and pray very hard that all this will be processed and sent to the Lagos Embassy about the same time that I will be there visiting my husband...Also with the hopes of us traveling back to the States together....

So should I wait for the package that they said would be sent with the checklist? What is the checklist? Or can I send this sign DS-230 in now... As it is the orginal that has to be sent, I don't want to make mistake and loose this and have to wait for him to send another..

If I use Jame's shortcut again to send DS-230 now before receiving the package will be alright?

Has anyone done this and what experiences has it caused ? Speeding up this process or delaying....

Will be waiting for anyone responses to my dilema.

    Nancy

  10. not to sound like too much of a moron but technically he is the one that fills those out right? I just fill out the 134?

So because they sent it to us officially we're ok to just fill the stuff out and send it in then hopefully. I don't know if it's a checklist...he said it's a letter. He said he'll show it to me tonight but the way his voice sounded he was fading fast so we'll see if he's still awake at 8pm when I'm home. lol

It didn't have the DS156 & 157? If not, that's weird.......but, don't worry you can just download them, fill them out, & send them.

the 10 day thing is definitely standard lingo.....we've been waiting a lot longer than that.

and congrats doodle on the packet 3 checklist!

    :help:

Ok here's the scoop. He called me to say that DHL had a package. I assumed it was packet 3.

He got home to get it and it only has one letter stating that "included is a package with instructions" blah blah blah.

    But they didn't include anything.......

Do you think DHL lost it or did the embassy just forget to put the package in the envelope? Who do I call about this?

    :help:

fyi also it says that once your papers are complete send them in and within 10 days you will receive an interview date.

Is that standard lingo or are they finally getting their act together over there?

I know you will have good luck, and this is just someone not doing their job to put this in the envelope..... Seeing this had made my day brighter that maybe my journey will be short like yours.

My prayer are with you and your husband that you will be together soon

  11. its normal......look at my signature.....and if you hit the search button, you look at some older posts you can see you are like people who just filed like you and got transfered. Its goes to the msc...nbc then either end up in Ca or Vermont offices i believe.

I don't know if this is any help but searching another website I found this posted in the lastest new area.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently announced new filing procedures for Form I-129 (Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker) and Form I-539 (Application to Extend/Change Status). Effective April 2, 2007, these filings will be the first applications affected by the recently implemented Bi-Specialization policy which distributes petition documentation to specialized service centers.

Petitioners will be required to file these applications directly with the service center that has jurisdiction over the place of employment or residence. These forms will be either filed with the Vermont Service Center (VSC) or the California Service Center (CSC). Once the petition is sent to the VSC or CSC, petitioners can expect that the receipt notice and approval notice will come directly from that service center. This revised process should simplify the previous procedure of sending the applications to one service center which would then subsequently distribute to another for adjudication.

A grace period has been announced between April 2 and April 16 during which the USCIS will accept all I-129 and I-539 petitions regardless of the new filing procedures. Also, H-1B petitions that have been prepared in advance of the April 2 filing date do not require a change to the service center address on support letters or documents, but should be sent to the service center that currently has jurisdiction. Beginning April 17, 2007, all cases must be sent to the correct service center or the petition will be rejected and returned with fees and instructions for proper filing.

  12. Hello everyone on vj. If you been reading my threads you have seen that listening to USCIS has not helped me...But everyone here has been wonderful with sending me in the right direction.

Here is the lates I was told. I check my bank account and saw the the check was cashed for my I-130. So I called to just ask a general question.

I have seen here that everyone has sent their I-129F to the lockbox in Chicago, and then it is forwarded to California Service Center. So I ask the person and gave them the petition file number of each the I-129F and I-130. I asked her that seeing that the I-129F was set up like the I130 when I sent it in mistake for spouse... I have also sent a letter explaining the mistake with the I-130.

So I asked her will the send the I129F to the NVC in Chicago?

She said yes the 2 petition are enter in the computer and will connect with each other. I might take a little longer as not they will finish the I-129F processing and then decided if it needs to be sent to Chicago or will be approved there.

I couldn't believe that this could happen? Am I wishing on something that this lady just said to please me?

I am hoping this is correct... I have read here that peoples that sent to lock box in Chicago their petition go to California...

Please help if this lady is not correct then I will have to send the I-129F to lock box and pay another 170.00.

    Sure hope she is right.

  13. Hello Everyone at VJ, I just recieved my REf for both petitions, again the USCIS just cant get the information that they give to me straight supervisor or not. So to end all this stress that they have put me through so far I'm going to follow the information that is given here. I see that here is more crediable by far that the persons that are hired to do our petitions.

I also understand that every case petition is different to some respects. I sent the letter explaining as I was instructed by a supervisor fro USCIS, and when I recieved the petition back with the REF, it was not included even though I had listed it on my cover sheet. So this is a mystery to me.

My I-130 was complete with the letter that I had explained the issue, my REF for this was I didn't sign both for the petitioner and the preparer. This was my fault for this.

Now my issue is should I send both back and since they will not recognize the fact that they made the mistake in accepting my other I-129F. and put in a catagory of Fiance' petition for entry. I included the marriage certificate and pictures. and was told that this should have been rejected but wasn't. Now should I sented the payment like it requests on the I-797. Or should I just take it and send it to the Chicago Lockbox with the new payment? I am thinking this would be the best.

I'm sorry but I'm a little confused. Did you recv a RFE or was your petition rejected for not signing the appropriate forms? What fees are you talking about? The only fee you submit is the $190 for the filing of the I-130 and $170 for the I-129f.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I did both the petition were rejected, and not RFE's. Is is getting so confusing with the information and instructions that USCIS is giving me. One person says this and another says that, Then the supervisor which you think know what is going on tells me to send both in together. ( this is because of the misinformation that started all this.) OH how I wish I would have found this vj sooner and all my stress, headaches, and sleepless nights would be calm. But now I have to continue and hope this will all go well.

I signed all the documents where it is to be signed. My husband signed where he needed to sign the I325, I double and tripled checked to make sure ever question answered and all empty space had a answer or N/A. But still it was rejected saying that the petition was not properly signed.

It stated that the applicant or petitioner must sign the application or petition form in the appropriate place. Any preparer must also sign in the appropriate place.

So I sign where the petitioner, was a also suppose to sign as the prepared? It does say if different that the petitioner. So I didn't.

I don't know what the problem could be.

When I called the person said to just send another one signed and send it back. Well I check to make sure that I didn't forget to fill in every spot.... So l start praying again.

The reason for the I-129F was when I first started this journey. I called and the customer service person told me that the country that I was married was not recognized in the U. S. so I would have to file for Fiance' Which that petition is still pending.

I now am in a delemia as to when I get the NOA-1 for the I-130 do I sent another I-129F to the Chicago Lockbox? The person I spoke to said that it can be processed there? This is now confusing me? I have paid the appropriate fee for both.

  15. I would say Thank you, you are talking about your other aren't you... There is no call to say F to your other.....But to say next time lets choose a band that we together can relate to and enjoy.....You are a special person to endure this for a love one or friend...

    Nancy

  16. I hope soon to. With all the confusion and wrong information.....I wonder now when they say they are check what some of them are doing? Just putting us on hold and coming back with simple answer?

I sure hope now that the supervisor did give me the correct information.... I praying that I am back on the right track and there will be not more delays or suprise REF ahead...

I hope you journey will also be fast.

  17. Hello everyone on VJ. Well after many calls to the USCIS I finally got to a supervisor that knew what to do in my matter.

Giving the all the information on my case which I have done each time I have called since Nov. before getting married overseas.... and getting all the wrong information from the people that I spoke to, (that goodness that I kept a log of all the names and badge numbers of them) I was told to submit the correct petitions with the payment for the I-130, showing that I have already paid for the I_129F but it should not have be processed at the service center, since I was filing marriage not for fiance'( sent copy of marriage cetificate) that i was given this information wrong. But since it was their clerical, human error that has brought me to this point that my file will be reviewed. And that I should not have to pay for the addition cost of $170. to be sent to my NVC center. But now I will have to wait for this and see what will come of this.

Now the praying will start all over again. But coming here I have learned so much to help me. In this small hurtle in this journey to be back together.

I want to thank everyone that has posted here with every question great or small, and the answers given, this has helped me to investigate the knowledge and information that is given by the customer service at USCIS over the phone. It has made me learn to take time out and go to the central office if I have further questions. Not to the call.

    Nancy

  18. It is sad.... That by accident the comforter and sweater were shrunk. This has happen to me with sweater that were in the laundry instead of the dry cleaning basket.... I was told to do this and in some but not all wool sweater it will work. This was told to me by someone that works in a dry cleaning store.

They also put clothes to be dry clean in washer, but they air dry clothes that will shink. But I was told that if you wash they sweater in gentle cycle of hot water then before last spin take sweater out ( this will be very messy, as the sweater will be holding lots of water. so line for with something I used towel to absorb the water.) Now figure out place that you can place it, perferably across a clothes line so you have hanger over. The water will be what will start the stretch processes. I did this in the bathroom over the shower rod.

Next you will have to start pulling gentle grasping the arms and bottom of sweater at the same time, doing this about maybe every 30min. But the sweater must stay soaked while doing this. If it becomes to dry this will not work. So if it does run water in bathtub lay sweater soak and repeat the process.

I hope this works. I have only had to resize a shrunken sweat from a appox. child size 10 to a adult size large.

If you do this remember this will take time to stretch it will not happen right away. The wool was drawn up with heat.

Good luck and hope this work for you as it did for me.

    Nancy

  19. Thank you to all here at the vj. I am going to wait till I recieve the REF. I don't want to start any confusion. The information that USCIS gave in they first place was not correct. As I see here everyone has been through or is going through so you know the process and what some of the pitfalls that could happen. So I consider the information that I get here at vj more accurate at this time.

I have I-130 ready to send, and if further REF is need I have copies of this.

But thank you so much everyone for you suggestions.. I will wait to get a notice before sending it.
