  1. Hello!

Thought I'd answer this question as my fiance also included my nickname on the I-129F form. I'm done with my interview and is recommended for visa approval, status of my case is still AP tho.

As per the USEM website (https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/), AKAs are names and/or aliases that the applicant used that also appears on civil documents (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.), even if these names or spellings have never been routinely used.

If your fiancee's nickname isn't listed on any of her legal and civil documents, there's no need to get an NBI with her AKA. Just make sure that her NBI Clearance matches her name of the Passport and the rest of her civil documents.

PS: My nickname wasn't questioned by any of the consul who spoke with me during the interview.

    Hope this helps!

  2. I'm sorry to hear this. I have high hopes that both of you will ace this interview.

I was there earlier and the place was a little packed. I might have even seen your fiancee but wouldn't know for sure.

Sending positive vibes on your way!

How did you email the confirmation page as a .PDF file?  Email that to the embassy.

    Hello Hank,

They were able to clarify that they need the scanned copy of the DS 160 confirmation page. Such relief!

Once I have finished the form and is on the confirmation page, they give you the option to print or email the confirmation.

    Thanks again!

  4. Hi Guys,

I've just finished my DS 160 a couple of days ago and have emailed the confirmation page to my personal email to eventually print it before I go to my interview.

There is an instruction on the email fro the USEM Manila (IVMNL, Appointments <IVMNLAppointments@state.gov) that says to email the embassy through support-philippines@ustraveldocs.com and advise them once you have completed the form. I have sent the said email a message and confirmed about the completion of the DS 160 which they have replied to and is now asking for a scanned copy of the DS 160 Form.

I am confused about this as I only have the confirmation page and the ceac website isn't allowing me to print the application/form now.

Any ideas on what is being asked?

PS: I have sent a clarification email but they'd probably reply tomorrow.

    Would appreciate your insights.

But NVC does NOT send anything via USPS

    I think sometimes they do.

Just received the NVC letter via post yesterday. That's the letter saying that they will forward the case to USEM Manila.

It took at least 1 month and half to receive that letter via post. Lol. PhilPost sucks.

    :)

  6. Hello!

Have you paid the Visa Fee yet?

You need to pay first before you can schedule an interview.

You can visit this link to check the instructions on how to make a payment: http://ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-paymentinfo.asp

Note that you can only pay through BPI.  Once you have made the payment, you can use this link to schedule the interview: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph

Side note: All these information are included on the Embassy Letter which will be sent to you (Petitioner) via email.

    Hope this helps!

So my case has been "At NVC" since DEC 14.  On DEC 19 they assigned the case number.  I've heard nothing since.  When I track it, it still says "At NVC".

Is this in the normal processing time?  Seems a bit slow.  I half expected it to be sent to Manila by now.  Any thoughts?

Hi! Saw your post and thought of letting you know my timeline from NVC Case assigned until USEM Manila have received it.

My NVC Case Number was assigned on 11/29/18 and the USEM Manila received it on 12/04/18. There might be a slight delay in your shipment due to the previous holidays. I hope it resumes to the normal processing times.

If you have questions on the following steps or something is not clear, you can send me a message. I'm done with the Medical and CFO. Will be having my interview on the 24th.

    Wish you the best! :)

That must be a new person at CFO.. and very ill informed.   The person that posted that needs to go back to CFO and ask for a supervisor.    CFO is not only for those emigrating to a foreign country, it is also for spouses of foreign citizens who want to get their passport in their married name.   Certificates are issued upon completion of the GCP seminar ... STICKER is not issued until the visa is in the passport.

    Hello Hank,

Thank you for providing further information.

I'll see to it that I'll ask for a supervisor just in case the same scenario happens to me.

    Hi!

Should it be the "certificate" first (if you don't have the visa yet) and then the sticker?

I am referring to one case wherein they went to the CFO but since they haven't been interviewed at the USEM the certificate wasn't issued since there is no assurance that they will be approved.  Below is the post of @Pbchief2 on another thread.

    CFO issues....

The lady that was assigned to her says she thinks she forgot her paper work at the Clark satellite office.  When she took the seminar she had told her she would not issue the certificate since there was no guarantee she would pass the interview. Now CFO May have misplaced the paperwork. We'll find out Wednesday at Clark.

So my worry right now is I may have the same issue/concern as the one listed above.

    :)

The ever so amazing and informative @Greenbaum has answered my concern and explain it fully.

Thank you guys for all your help.

When you attend the CFO before you have your USEM interview they will place the sticker in your passport. When you attend and don't have your passport they will issue a certificate whereupon when you have your passport with visa you return to CFO and have your sticker placed within your passport by means of presenting your certificate. You can do this at any CFO location including NAIA (with special instructions).

    Hi @Greenbaum

Thank you so much for answering! It eased my worries.

I still have my passport with me and it's nice to know that I won't make 2 trips to CFO.

Thanks again! You are always a big help!

I hope you and your fiancee are both well.

I'm schedule to attend the CFO-GCP on Monday the 7th and I haven't done my USEM interview yet.

I'd like to know how did they give you the sticker since you weren't given a certificate? I mean, do they list or keep track of your case/name?

    Thanks for your answer!

Ooops sorry, I think I was able to find the answer on your previous post.

    Thanks!

Yes.  You will get the sticker after you have the Visa in the passport.   This will require a second visit to CFO or get it at NAIA CFO desk if departing from Manila

  14. Hello!

Quick question. I have my CFO scheduled on Monday the 7th and the USEM interview on the 24th. I am still able to complete the GCP even if my interview is set on a later date - correct?

Also, I read somewhere that if you haven't gone through the interview yet then they wouldn't issue the certificate - is this the case for all?

    Thanks!

  15. @Greenbaum Thanks! I was able to access the link where you can schedule by removing the https:// on the URL however, after filling out the information about me and fiance (and uploading the photo) when I click next I get an error 404 site not found error.

I tried using all the browsers I have but I can't seem to move past that bit. Ugh! This is getting me frustrated. 😠

  16. Hi Guys,

I hope all of you are well.

I just completed my 2nd day medical at SLEC for Psych Eval. They have advised me to call after 2-3 working days to check for the results and have the immunization.

I'm now trying to schedule my CFO appointment but I keep on getting an error on the website when trying to access the link for scheduling  saying "error loading this page." Any other way of scheduling the CFO?

    Thanks!

True, 17k php is so much higher than the other countries represented at slec

Yeah. It is expensive. Too bad they don't accept health insurance/coverage. LOL! My fiance and I would be able to save a ton.

Hoping my medical will be that quick too. Keeping my fingers crossed.

So far so good.   Tomorrow is vaccinations and psych evaluation and then get the results.   She wants to wait until medical in hand before scheduling the interview.   Ds160 is locked and loaded.   She needs to go to bpi and pay the fee and then we can schedule

I see. So she was able to get inside without the interview appt at USEM. Good to know! I'm planning to do the same thing next week. Did she only bring the letter with the MNL case #?

If you don't mind me asking what was the cause of the psych eval? If it's too personal, no need to answer. :)

I don't know why so many fear the medical exam.  My so left cebu at 8am, arrived Manila at 9:30, arrived slec by 10:30am, was finished by 2:30pm.  Easy peasy

Ooh! How was the experience? :) Have you scheduled your interview at the Embassy yet?

Check your ceac status,  ours went to ready today

Hello! Just checked mine and it shows ready. :) I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

I'd probably do my medical by the 17th to 18th (due to work schedule, ugh!). Wishing your fiancee have a smooth and hassle free medical! :)

Just tracked the package of petitions from NVC, scheduled to arrive in Manila on Monday December 3

Thanks for the update! This is great to hear.

Did you already schedule an interview for your fiancee? Or are you planning on taking the same route as I which is to get the medical done first before scheduling the interview at USEM.

  22. 2 hours ago, Hank_ said:

Ready status isn't necessary.   SLEC just likes having a document with the MNL# on it.       You do want to wait for READY status on CEAC before scheduling the interview.   You can pay the  visa fee early.

Don't stress on the medical, it is a simple 2 day process (3 days if you have kids of a certain age).   TB obviously is the only real concern for delays.

I see. Thanks again! Might do my medical next week or week after. :)
