  1. Short question...an n40p was filed and I realize the hire date of my first job in the USA was off by 1 day. So I was approved to work starting Feb 2 but listed February 1. Is this a big deal? Bring it up during the interview or not a big deal?

  2. Hello

So my wife just filed her n400 a few days back and already has a biometric appointment for early February. I know well that the paper says approximately 7 months time-frame.

That said anyone here used the Pittsburgh office as your interview office? If so...after the biometric appointment how long until the interview?

Also we will not miss the interview but international travel to visit her family should not be a problem, correct?

And yes, I'm aware of the physical presence  test.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks to all the help. Another question...

So for the first day in the USA I put down was dec 12 2020. Same date on her card and passport as she was IR1. please correct me if I'm wrong.

We took one trip out of the USA to visit her family in Manila. Departed USA on 6/4/23 and landed in California on 6/26. How do we count those days?

    Thank you

  4. Ok so I'm a tad confused, sorry. Ok the date on her card is dec 12, 2020.we are filing now based on marriage.

So under 5 years of her address history do I list going back the full 5? Or just 3? Based on 5 it shows like 2 full years in Philippines.

Also...if I base it on 5 years...do I actually put down "dec 24 2018" as the start of her 5 years.....even though she was in Manila for a while before that?

I cannot find clear information anywhere.

  5. Hello all

I've looked through the n400 instructions but am still unsure.

So my wife arrived here in December 2020 from Philippines and automatically got her permanent residency based on marriage. She qualifies for the 3 years.

    So my questions...

We are filing now and am unsure how to answer her 5 years residency. So essentially she lived back in Philippines from say June 1 2018 to Dec 10 2020 then arrived here. Ok. So do I still put down for the 5 years "December 24th (5 years from today) 2018 to the date she left the Philippines? Or what? I'm confused. Or just do the last 3 years? Help is appreciated.

    Also...

I'm not counting a closed loop  cruise from Florida as our passports were not stamped.

  6. Hello all

My wife is applying for her citizenship based on our marriage. I had a couple questions...

    1. We are in WV, I am not sure our processing center. Anyone aware of it or the processing time?

    2. Are closed loop cruises ( Florida out n back to the same port) considered travel outside the country?

    3. For evidence I have our 3 years of irs transcripts, joint bank statements going back a year, our joint house deed and our names on the home insurance. My birth certificate, our marriage certificate, her greencard copies and her state id copy, my divorce decree. No kids 😔

    This sound pretty good?

    Thanks

  7. Hello all

My filipina wife has her greencard and we are flying to Manila from the USA to see her parents. We want to pop up to Korea mainland for a few days. Cannot find good information. I don't need a visa but I'm wondering if she does or not?

  8. Hey guys. My wife has her 10 year greencard and we have decided to visit her family in the Philippines, where her passport is from, this summer. I found a great ticket that connects in incheon korea.

I checked the Korean embassy website, called, but no answers no help.

Does she need a special visa to transfer in Korea on the way to Manila and back? Thanks

  9. So my wife just got her visa in hand. I just paid her fee online. When I filed the DS260 over 2 years ago I was at my old address.

The lady at the interview asked her for our address (current one). I assume she updated it? Will the ss card automatically come with the greencard?

Will CBP also ask her when she arrives? I just want to make sure the ss card and greencard both arrive.

  10. Ok, I have read up some but a few questions.

My wife should get the visa delivered in 2-4 weeks. I was told the visa would come with instructions to pay the greencard fee online, is this correct?

Also, the online form has a space to put in the address that the card is to be delivered to, is this correct? (NVC did not update the mailing with Embassy)

Does the greencard automatically have a social security card sent with it?

  11. So my wife just told me she was approved for her visa in Manila. They said her passport will be returned in 2-4 weeks. She is an IR visa.

I am curious, where, where, and how much will we have to pay for her greencard?

The Embassy had my old address on file, even though I updated it with NVC months ago.

Will the greencard and social security card automatically be mailed to our home?

  12. Hello

My wife's expedited interview is coming this week. She already did the medical. But I heard something about her needing (me, lol) to pay another fee for the embassy/visa or greencard? I am lost.

    How much, where? Please help.

Also, about registering to have her visa delivered?

    Thank You

  13. Hello all

My wife just got approved for an expedited interview in Manila. I was told by some helpful folks here that she can get her medical prior to getting the interview date set. My question is...can she simply make the appointment and go WITHOUT A VISA APPOINTMENT LETTER?

Also, how long are these medicals good for?

This is for an IR1 (spousal). Thanks!

I just do not want to give her the wrong information. She is very moody and I do not want to deal with her wrath if I am wrong and she goes there for nothing.

Contacting NVC is pointless as they are done with you.   The process has been to get everything ready including medical.   Once complete you email them requesting the interview appointment.

So does she get an email from the embassy in instruction for the medical or just show up at st Luke's?

Unfortunately, you may still have a wait ahead of you. My senator also asked for expedite appointment and interview for my son.  His case and my wife's were approved by the embassy on 18 Sep.  My wife case was immediately transferred but for some reason my son case was not transferred for about 2+ weeks after.  It took submitting an inquiry asking why to get the case sent a inquiry got a reply saying that they looking into the case and it was finally transferred after almost another week. Both cases were updated recently on 26 October but still no appointments. So like many we continue to wait despite senator's involvement.

I'm thinking an interview about January. What do you think?
