  1. I know that there is a US Consulate that has just started in Hyderabad.

    http://hyderabad.usconsulate.gov/

Your mother will be sent the interview information and in that packet they will state where she has to do the medical - if some things are now done in Hyd, it will say that on the info packet; otherwise, she has to go to Chennai, can't get around that. My husband went on a train Hyd to Chennai, did the medical and returned within 24 hours. Another person we know on VJ went by flight Hyd to Chennai to get the medical done. If your mom is able to make the long long journey to USA, she has to accept going to Chennai once (for medical and interview) or twice (like most people do, going for the medical and several weeks later, going again for the interview). GOod luck to her.

    thank you for info.

the web site ( http://hyderabad.usconsulate.gov/"]http://hyderabad.usconsulate.gov) says that:

The U.S. Consulate – Hyderabad is scheduled to open by the end of 2008. All consulate service are currently handled by the U.S. Consulate – Chennai.

does it mean that they can open any time?

  2. Honda, yes so because your case starts with MDR, Chennai is your consulate where you mother must appear for the interview. It also seems that the medical can only be done with Consulate approved doctors who are only based in Chennai.

I checked the link below, which lists the doctor/medical facilities that are approved by the Consulate. I do not think there are any physicians in Hyderabad who are approved for doing Consulate-related medicals. I find it ridiculous that they don't have anybody in Hyderabad to do medicals but I guess it's true.

    Good Luck

thanks for the info. and i'm very worried that my mom would able to make it or not because my mom lives in Hyderabad and she does not want to travel to consulatate and i wish at least we have medical exam in hyderabad.

is there a way i call and find out if the things might have changed? where should i call if i want to find out?

    thanks a lot

  3. Please read the below as it contains an important amendment!

As embarrassing as it is, I must post this, with apologies to NVC, to remain a good forum citizen. Yesterday I called the NVC and they were surprised that I brought up my mother's birth and marriage certificates. Turned out, this is not at all what they'd requested. They had requested MY birth and marriage certificates! The mistake was totally mine.

What happened was that I saw:

    MISSING DOCUMENT LIST FOR: <My mother's name>

    1) PETITIONER'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE

    ...

I saw, but not register the word "Petitioner's", reading "Beneficiary's" instead. The rep said that this actually happens quite often. There's some consolation in numbers... not much though.

Anyway, NVC processed everything correctly and now I am submitting the missing documents, my own birth and marriage certificates. Previously I had submitted their protocopies to the CIS along with the I-130, but that was not sufficient for NVC. After all, they require originals or certified copies. Since the originals are with me in the US, I'll submit them. I'll report later on whether the NVC make good on their promise of returning them to my mother through the officer at the interview.

i'm in the process of submiting ds-230 for my mother, but where does it say the PETITIONER'S birth certificate and marriage certificate to submit?

    anybody please?

  4. Once you submit the DS-3032, the NVC will send you the IV Bill for $400. After you send your payment and they process it, they will then ask you to send the DS-230. So yes, it would be a good idea to have your mom fill it out, sign part I and mail it to you so you can have it ready.

    Diana

can you please answer my question?

    thanks.

  5.

Sorry but it sure looks like you are applying for your moms visa at NVC ? Not GC.

yes you are correct i'm filing at NVC for my moms visa through i-130

so the above list is still valid even for visa at NVC ?

    thanks.

    Copy of her passport

Certified BC, Certified death certificate, Certified marriage certificate, police clearance. Could have missed something.

my father is deceased still needs marriage certificate ?

  6. I'm filing for my mother's green card and I'm in the process of preparing the certificates and i read somewhere that these are the certificates required, can anybody please confirm or correct me?

    1) Police Certificate based (what exactly want?)

    2) Four (4) Passport size photos (2in.x2in.)

    3) photocopy of the first page

    4) beneficiary birth certificate

    5) beneficiary Death Certificates (my father is deceased)

    thanks.

  7. i received a letter stating that:

before the nvc can continue processing this immigrant visa petition you must pay the affidavit of support (aos) fee $70

along with it, also i have received the form ds-3032 (choice of address and agent), my question is how do i expedite this form?

do i have to send the form to my mother and then she send to:

    national visa center

    attn: wc

    32 Rochester ave

    Portsmouth, NH 03801

    any help?

  8. Explain why you submitted a non available certificate, then the certificate. Seems a resonable question.

Your mother submitted an affadavit? Sounds like they wanted them from independent persons.

Best to just provide them with the information requested.

i have this no available certificate from very long time and i even use for my citizenship and i never realized that this will be a big issue.. first i provide the "non avability certi" because i have used the same for my citizenshiop and when i get the second request to prover further that she is my mother then i thought its time to get the birth certificate (remember i never in my life ever required the birth certificate so i never bother to get one) but since they(ucis) are asking for further prove then i request my mom to get my birth certificate and to get the birth certificate it was hard and painfull because they go through with rigrous process of making sue to whom they are issueing anyway

i think my mother did not realized that she no need to sign on the affidavit but it was mistake that she signed by herself rather then other person.

however what is the best way to approach?

  9. i don't know from where to start but may may 7 i applied for my mother along with my natz certif and my "non availability" (birth certificate) certificate to prove the relationship.

then after 2 months i received letter from USCIS asking me to provide more doc to prove that she is my mother

and i called my mother (India) and ask her to send me the docs

    1) birth certificate (i never ever require in my whole life until now... so my mother has to go through the toughest process in order to get my birth certificate

    2) religious doc stating that she is my mother

    3) affidavit of two person

after i sent the above doc.. last Friday i received letter stating that: the case is denied because

first i submit the non availability certificate and next i submit the birth certificate (i think they start doubting on me)

then second point they mention is that.. in my affidavit by mother signed on the affidavit (which is one more mistake they found).

i have less then 30 days to fightback

    any help or any suggestions?

I'm so pissed of with those idiots.. if they really want to find why the hell they don't call and find out if this is genuine or not?

  10. I'm also waiting for approval from ins and i haven't heard anything as of now... i filed I130 for my mother

please post steps and also I'm interested to know how to save time like you were mentioning about police certificate,? what else do i need? so that i can save time.

my mother is widow do i need anything especial or death certificate of my father or something?

    appreciate any help here.

    thanks.

Also, does anybody know wether US embassy in Abu Dhabi issues visa's the same day or next day?

    Thanks

how much time it took for your father to get interview ?

    thanks.
