    thanks.

  2. Please help me...................

My mother in law had her immigrant visa interview about 3 months ago. The embassy kept their passport and gave 221(g) mentioning that embassy will contact shortly. It's been 3 months and I checked the status with the embassy and they said the embassy administratively refused the case and they are dong standard processing now and will let us know about thier decission. If any of you have the same status and what happened next please let us know. Should we call the embassy and asked them whether they need any more information or documents. Thanks.

what was the reason they said?

i was on same boat for my mother and finally got visa after 2 years.

  3. this is the new battle that i have to fight.

would you tell me what form is the waiver that i need to file?

    thanks all.

First you need to know if your Mother was in the US for over 2 years. Until you know that you will not be able to take the correct action to try and get this sorted out.

i'm trying to understand which battle is the easy one

let say, if we say... yes we live 2 years then what should i do in that regards ?

let say, if we don't live 2 years then what should i do in that regards?

    thanks.

  4. my mother got blue letter with the following:

The consulate general regrets it is unable to issue a visa at this time. Section 221(g) of the US immigration and Nationality act prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone who has failed to present the documents required in connection with his or her visa application or who has otherwise failed to meet the requirements of US law or regulations governing the issuance of a visa.

the following remarks apply in your case:

Documentation issued by the Bureau of Citizenship and immigration service (formerly INS) proving that you were lawfully present in the US from jan 2002 until feb 2004

my mother voluntarily departed from the States without expense to the US government and without an order of removal or deportation having been entered (just to attend my brother wedding) in 2004.

do i have to file for 601 form?

This is saying they think your mother was in the US for 2 years or so (Jan 02 - Feb 04). They want proof that she was there "legally" during that time.

If you cannot provide that information, then she is subject to the 10 year ban and will need to file for a waiver.

Strange - you say 1 month overstay - the US is saying at least 2 years overstay - which is it?

this is the new battle that i have to fight.

would you tell me what form is the waiver that i need to file?

    thanks all.

  8. My husband just had his medical interview at Chennai on Friday May, 9 2009. If you get to the lab by 8am or 9am, you can get the report the same day. My husband was at lab at 7am. He was able to get his lab done in the morning and get his doctor visit done in the evening. He want with Dr. Sanjay John. You want to call the doctor ahead of time to get appointment. Lab cost was Rs. 920 for x-ray test and HIV blood test. He was given 3 shots by Dr. John (Tdap, MMR, and Influenza) for fee of 3000Rs. Additionally, Dr. John's fee is Rs. 600.

    Good Luck!!!

so when was your husband interview? what is the minimum required days to have medical and go for interview? is that 3 days? or so ?

because my mom is going from different state and she is old and I'm bit concern about heat in India.

is that easy smooth process or hard?

also, can you please me which hotel to take that covers in a short distance Lab/Doctor visit and US Consulate?

    thanks for reply.
