Her passport isn't expired; it expires in July. But she won't have time to wait for the new one during her trip (she's actually in PH only 11-12 days and can't get an appt until the middle of her trip). So the question is can she get her new passport and travel back to the US on her old one while we wait for them to ship the new one to our address here in the US?

Or does she just forego the entire passport thing and we take a trip to Vancouver when she returns? (the closest embassy)

When she renews her passport, the only way for the 'old' passport to stil be used while waiting for the new one is if choose to PICK up the new passport in person at DFA. If she chooses 'delivery' they will punch 2 holes on the passport, nullifying it.

So if she can still travel back to US on her July 2019 expiring passport better she dont renew her passport anymore if she cant wait for the new one to be issued and just renew it at the closest consulate when she return.

Oh, great :) Well I just paid the visa fee. I am not sure if it's me or ustraveldocs, but I am not able to click any buttons on my dashboard (visa information, fee payment, etc) I tried it on 3 different computers and it's still the same issue.

Be patient it takes a little bit before the reference number you entered is recognized by the system. Try it again now...should be ok now.

Just about everyone goes through this process.  Based on the discussions I had with the case officer he informed me of the steps to complete the processing of a visa:

the first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa

the first ready is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance

the second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork

the second ready is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery

Then "issue" is posted and the visa has left the BIG house to YOUR house.

Once you get that second ready, it should be sent out within a few days, although we received our visa before any of the various websites that allow you to look up the status said that it had been sent out.

Wow! That information is so helpful! Im going through the 2nd AP and it is driving me nuts! Hehe

    Thanks @Greenbaum!!!

  4. Hi please share your experience or thought about my current visa trouble....

My US interview in Manila for K1 visa was on April 25, it was approved. Then April 30, CEAC website status show that the non-immigratant visa was received and case was then currently open and to check again after 2 biz days. I just checked again today and now saying it is undergoing necessary administrative processing. 😱😭 Should I be worried or this is just normal?

    I'm going crazy already 😵😵😵

OP you can check at either sight. They both update and give you the same information. When your status changed from immigrant to non-immigrant you will soon have your visa issued. Just a little more patience.

BTW hank has some nifty websites to help track your visa a little closer.

Thanks! A 'No Status' upon checking is normal for a recently approved visa? (April 25)

Hi! I just wanna ask, i tried to check my visa status this morning and i can't get through with the immigrant option so i tried non-immigrant and input my DS-160 no. So im guessing my status changed from immigrant to non-immigrant, is that normal? I know k1 visa is a non immigrant visa but is processed as immigrant visa lol

Are you trying to check the status of your visa after the interview? If you are, the term now is checking the status of your passport. Here is the right place to check it:

    http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-passportretrieve.asp#collect

Hope it helps. Im also checking my passport status everyday. My interview was on April 25.

  7. I need help! I Recently renewed my passport so I need to update my old passport number I initially entered when I filled out DS-160. I also found out that I entered wrong anwer for my place of birth and need to change it too. I saw online that I can update it on the ceac site but I just need more guidance from anyone of you who knows better. I emailed US embassy but hasn't gotten a response yet and it has been about a week. My interview is still on April 25 but I want to get this issue taken cared of as it is worrying me...

Thanks a lot for those that will respond :)

    Hi good afternoon

Me and my fiance from the US have submitted a petition for a K-1 Visa for me last June 8, 2018. We got NOA 2 last December 19, 2018 and still waiting for NVC to send the case to the US Embassy Manila. However I am worried because it looks like I requested for my Certificate of No Marriage too soon and the date that is printed on my document is June 30, 2018 and we still don't have any confirmation from NVC as well as an interview date at the embassy. What should be the minimum months when the CENOMAR is issued so that it would be valid upon the day of the interview? Thank you!

Cenomar is only valid for 6 months. Yours should be good until June 2019...I dont think your embassy interview would be after June 2019 though...

Ofcourse you can always request for a new Cenomar should you need to.

  9. I need your help as I am confused from some inconsistentent advices.

*If we are able to get our case number through email, will that be enough to schedule a medical exam with SLEC or does SLEC REQUIRE that I also schedule an embassy interview (which requires that NVC application status is 'embassy received'?

Thanks to anyone who will reply 😉😉😉
