  1. They are back but they were held up in CUSTOMS for 4 HOURS.

They interrogated my wife for one hour, about our relationship, the nature of her trip abroad, her family ties, etc.

They took her in a secondary line , then they took her passport and docs, and they made her wait 2 hours in this line, then they interrogated her.

With the Russian airlines ( Aeroflot) they delayed her boarding the plane because they didn't know what AP is.

Thankfully she's back but it is a royal pain in the neck traveling with Advance Parole .

  2. Hi VJ Community ,

I just checked my case status online and it said that on July 22,2019 they scheduled an interview for my wife and that we should be expecting a letter in the mail in the next few days.

I receive email notifications images of what's coming in the mail to me through the post office , I checked my email and sure enough there is a USCIS letter addressed to my wife that should be arriving today or on Monday .

My wife is in Russia visiting her mother who is very ill, my wife has a return flight to the USA on August 24,2019.

Is there a chance that USCIS has scheduled the interview before Aug. 24 ?

Should I tell my wife to change her return date back to the United States as soon as possible?

Do you think we have enough time ?

I really don't want to hurry my wife back because of her mother who is not doing good, want to give her as much time with her mother but I also don't want to risk missing the interview .

    Thoughts or suggestions ?

  3. Hello Bill and Katya,

Nothing has changed, Aeroflot and passport control are still saying they will not accept the EAD/AP COMBO CARD.

I made a copy of the CBP AND AEROFLOT LINKS that you sent me, my wife will show this to Aeroflot and passport control at the Moscow airport .

I appreciate very much your help and you checking up on this situation .

My wife is still going to Russia because she needs to see her parents.

  4. My wife has talked with supervisors with Aeroflot Airlines and with someone who works at passport control at Sheremetyevo Intl Airport , all have told her the same thing that they will not accept the EAD/ADVANCE PAROLE COMBO CARD, they don't recognize this and they will only allow her to board the plane with a green card or visa stamp.

They rudely told her fly with an American Airliner who accept such documents !!

We don't have the money to buy another round trip ticket, don't know what to do .

    Thanks for your response !

  5. My wife and stepdaughter will be traveling to their native country of Russia this summer with AP, they will be flying with Aeroflot airlines.

I called Aeroflot Airlines and two different Aeroflot representatives told me that they will not let anyone board the airplane flying back to the U.S without a visa.

They said they will not allow my wife to board with the AP,  that she and my stepdaughter must have visas .

I explained to them what AP is and they told me in a rude way, "then let your wife and stepdaughter fly at their own risk but we will certainly not let them board the plane with this AP " !!

I have heard others having trouble with other airlines with AP, the majority of these airline employees have no clue what AP is , but they have the power not to let you board the plane .

Has anyone gone through this ?

I would be very grateful for any feedback or advice !!

    Thank you VJ community !

  6. My wife and I need to go to the local USCIS office to ask them some questions about our case.

I've been trying for the past 3 months to schedule an info pass appointment from the web site but it always says " NO APPOINTMENT DATES AVAILABLE".

How can I get an info pass appointment if they don't have anything available for such a long time ?

Should I just go to the local field office and try to schedule an appointment in person ?

  7. Hello VJ community !

My wife finally received her EAD/AP combo card.

In the I-765 application form, she asked to have a SS number issued to her .

It has been two weeks since she received her EAD/AP combo card, when will she get her SS card?

Should we wait another week or two for the SS number to be mailed to her from SSA or should I take her to a local SSA office.

I just worry if we go to the SSA office and apply for her SS number/card that things will get mixed up or messy.

    What should we do ?

Also, my wife's daughter is 7 years old and we would also like for her to get a SS number , but the SSA office told us that she can't get a SS number until she gets her green card.

Can my wife's daughter get a SS number if and when my wife gets her SS number ?

They came here on K-1 and K-2 visa.

I need for them to have SS numbers so I can file taxes, I already filed for an extension .

Thanks for your advice and thoughts !

  8. Hello VJ community !

My wife came here on K-1 VISA and we got married within 90 days.

However, we were late filing the I-485, I-131, and I-765 by 30 days .

My wife received her EAD/AP COMBO card last week but now I am scared that this 30 days of out of status stay might be a problem when reentering the United States with Customs.

Is 30 days of out of status stay enough reason for CBP to deny reentry for my wife ?

Thanks for all input and advice !

  9. Today my wife received an update on the USCIS WEB SITE that her I-765 EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION CARD was mailed.

She also filed at the same time for advance parole I-131, I-765, and the I-485.

The card that is coming in the mail for her, is this  the combo EAD/AP COMBO CARD or just an EAD card ?

We checked her case status for her I-131 and it still says the same thing that they received the case on November 6, 2018, it doesn't say anything about approval or that it is being mailed with the EAD.

Also, we filed for her 7 year old daughter for I-131 Advance Parole but nothing new on her case status either .

Should we be worried that USCIS only sent her an EAD CARD and maybe her Advance Parole wasn't approved or hasn't been approved yet ?

Shouldn't her daughter's Advance Parole document come at the same time as her mother's ?

Does the issuance of an EAD CARD automatically become Advance Parole since she filed for both at the same time ?

I have read and heard that it will be a single card with two purposes :  Work and travel .

I will appreciate any feedback on this .

I just hope that they did not do  anything wrong because my wife really needs to travel to her home country to see her parents .

    Thank you VJ community !

  10. Yes, we will try to get some doctors documents from her country.

Obviously the docs will have to be translated into English.

So, in reality you don't think she will receive the EAD/AP combo card anytime soon ?

Will try to make an infopass appointment but our local USCIS office hasn't been accepting any new appointments since the first week of February.

Is everything in USCIS BACKED UP NOW ??

  11. My wife filed for her I-485, I-131, &  I-765 together at the same time.

The receipt date was November 6, 2018 from the National Benefits Center.

We were possibly thinking of going this summer to her country to visit her parents, this is why she filed for the AP I-131.

Unfortunately , her parents have become very sick and they are very old and she's worried.

We have been checking the processing times at the National Benefits Center for the I-131 and it seems to me they are getting backed up and very slow.

They are currently processing August 30,2018.

We are afraid that she will not receive her EAD/AP COMBO card before July.

Should we make an info pass appointment and ask to expedite her advance parole because of family sickness or should we wait a little while longer ?

Do you all think she will get her EAD/AP combo card within the next few months ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

  12. Hello VJ Community,

I filed my I-485, 1-765, and 1-131 ( Advance Parole) at the same time.

I Was planning on taking two trips to see my father and mother who both have serious health issues.

On the I-131 AP Application by mistake I marked  only ONE TRIP instead of MORE THAN ONE TRIP .

Does this mean my advance parole document will only be for one trip instead of multiple trips?

Some people have told me that the Advance Parole is valid for one year with multiple trips, regardless if I marked only ONE TRIP.

Will my Advance parole be valid for only one trip or multiple trips?

Should I try to notify USCIS of my mistake and tell them that the Advance Parole for more than one trip?

I received my I-797 receipt notice for advance parole on November 13, 2018. any possibilities I will get my advance parole by June 2019?

The National Benefits Center has my Advance parole and I heard that they are the slowest service center !

    I welcome all suggestions .

  13. Hello visa journey community.

My wife entered the USA on a K1 VISA

When she did her medical abroad there was some scar tissue on her lungs, so they made her do 3 day sputum tests.

The results for the TB Sputum tests all came back negative for TB.

However, the U.S. Embassy still put on her K1 VISA stamp " CLASS B TB" ANNOTATION, even though she was found negative after the follow up sputum tests.

We got married within 90 days in the U.S. and we just recently submitted our AOS packet ( I-485, I-131, I-765).

One of her friends who also just recently came to the U.S. on a K1 VISA and also had the same " CLASS B TB ANNOTATION"  on her visa stamp told us that she received a letter from a local health clinic saying that she has to go do a new TB exam.

Her friend said that the CDC reports all CLASS B TB immigrants to local health clinics and that they must redo a new TB TEST otherwise you will get reported by the CDC to USCIS and will get denied for green card.

We never received any letter in the mail from a local health clinic, the CDC, or USCIS.

I am now worried that my wife's AOS will get denied because she does not have this follow up TB test in the U.S.

Her friend told us that they health clinic said that all immigrants with " CLASS B TB ANNOTATION" MUST GET A NEW TB TEST within 90 days of arrival .

I've studied the CDC WEB SITE and the USCIS POLICY MANUAL and I can't find anything on this.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback and clarity on this issue.
