  1. Hi everyone!! I have a concern. my wife has to do her tax... I would like to know if this concerns me? because I am still waiting for my adjustment status(waiting for the interview) , and I dont have yet my social security number, I do not work and I do not make any income for the now.

    if this concerns me too which are the paper to fill and which tax should be chosen?

    Please want someone to help me bu giving me some details about that. Thanks !!

      best and fastest way to check is to ask Emma on the USCIS website

      press "ask Emma" button and then type in "talk to representative" during their business hours, they will give you the most accurate answers for any questions

      check the link to be 100% certain but if there's a chance not to claim residency for tax purposes, I'd take that.

      If you spent less than 183 days in the US in 2019, your wife can file her taxes stating she's MFS (married filing separately) and that is the easiest option.

      Otherwise, if you choose to file with her and have no SSN yet, you'd need to apply for TIN and that takes 6 weeks according to the IRS website.
