I had my Citizenship interview last week, Tuesday, September 10th, 2019 I passed the test, and the officer has recommended my application for approval. My online account has been not updated and still shows the same “We scheduled your interview.”

    Please advise.

Hi! My husbands case status stayed on “we scheduled your interview also. One month after his interview we received a “notice of continuance” they wanted him to sign and date a copy of the oath of allegiance. I guess his signature was not readable or somthing. So once he signed and dated it I express mailed it back to them and exactly one week later  his case status updated to his oath ceremony. During the interview the immigration officer told him it can take from 30-60 days to schedule the oath so Sometimes it goes to a supervisor for review before they schedule it. Hang in there it shouldn’t be long! If u were recommended for approval during the interview then it is just a matter of time.

Then no need to call, call around Friday to get any status update.  However, I am very hopeful that your application is fine , USCIS can’t schedule the oath without those signed documents.  Once the will receive it, you will get update under review & then you will get oath letter.

Hi dilip! U were right! One week after they received the documents my husband was scheduled for oath!

  3. Thanks  dilip! Tier 2 officer could not even see rfe in the system. That’s why she sent a request for the field office to resend the notice. So u don’t think I should call Monday morning and see if they can cancel that request for second copy?? Hopefully he gets the oath ceremony notice soon! I feel like we are so close.

  4. So my hubby had his n400 interview on July 23. He was recommended for approval and and we were just waiting for his oath ceremony. A month later we received a notice of continuance for him to sign and date a copy of the oath of allegiance. (My hubby has a tendency to have an unreadable signature he just kinda signs it quick, I’m guessing they wanted a more clear signature)) Anyway it was 3 papers long. The first paper was the cover letter with the bar code and instructions. The second paper was the oath of allegiance. And the third paper was just the sign and date part. My husband signed and dated it. I sent the cover letter and the last paper that was signed and didn’t realize that I was suppose to send back all 3. The whole thing. So I intercepted the papers and there was a problem with the intercept and the papers were bouncing back and forth and there was a possibility that we were not gonna get them back. We called and spoke to a tier 2 officer and they put in a request for our field office to resend us another copy of the continuance. I asked the tier 2 if we received our missing papers can we go ahead and send those? And she said “sure! That’s fine! Anyway we finally got our missing papers back the very next day after speaking to tier 2. So now we are ready to send in our complete continuance first thing Monday morning express mail with tracking. So with that being said, now that we received our missing papers and all is well, should we call and speak to a tier 2 again and cancel our request for a second copy??? Or should we just send it and it will get processed and they will not send us a second copy??? PLEASE ADVISE!! Thankyou for taking the time to read! Someone please give me their opinions and experiences!??

    Hello Nina,

was the estimate wait time after biometrics to get the interview scheduled accurate accurate? and the estimate completion time!

Hello! The estimated wait time is just an estimate. My husbands estimated wait time after biometrics was May 2020 but a few months later he was scheduled for his interview in June 2019. So your interview could be very well before your estimated completion time.

Update: got today an email (and had a change in my profile at the USCIS webpage) stating that I'm in line for the oath ceremony. Will receive a letter with date and location soon.

Congrats I’m sure your relieved. So your status went from interview scheduled to “in line? My husband still hasn’t gotten an update. He was told 30-60 days. It’s almost a month. I did a chat with a representative and they said everything is good just keep waiting and that it’s in final process after interview whatever that means.

  7. Hi guys. So my hubby had his n400 interview on July 23rd. He was recommended for approval and told it will take from 30-60 days to schedule for the oath ceremony. Today is 3 weeks after his interview and there is no online update. It still says “interview scheduled”” it has not been updated. I check his status on just the regular case status where u enter receipt number because somehow I got locked out of our account so I can’t see his case completion and the previous documents sent and etc... I have read about plenty of people who have similar case update problems. Should we just wait it out  hopefully just like the io said 30-60 days?? I just want this all the be over and close this chapter of our lives!!!!!

    Depends on your location.

I'm in LA. Approved interview June 7th. Still waiting for oath schedule.

Did your case status update online? My husband had his interview about 3 weeks ago and was recommended for approval and told 30-60 days for oath. And status online still says we scheduled your interview.

Please do keep us posted as you see movement on your case. If you dont mind me asking, which centered was your husband interviewed at?

He was interviewed in New Orleans, Louisiana. I don’t see many posts from people who interviewed here so I hope we hear somthing soon regardless!

  10. Hi guys. So my hubby had his n400 interview on Tuesday. The io was such a sweet nice lady and recommended him for approval that day. She gave him the paper with the box checked Congratulations and said he should get his oath in 30-60 days. She told him to bring his green cards and passport to the ceremony. Today is the 3 rd day after his interview and approval and his case online is still showing “we scheduled your interview” it has not updated. Is this normal?? Shouldn’t it have updated the same day after his interview??

  11. Hey there! So my hubbys interview for n400  is finally around the corner. He had a charge that happened after we sent his n400 for simple damage to property. His court docket says

    plea: Not guilty

    Verdict: NP-Nolle Process

    total charged: 0.00

    total paid: 0.00

    total due: 0.00

basically everything is 0. Does he have to go into specifics about his charge? Can he just say that I had a charge that happened after I sent in my n 400 and the charges were dropped ? I read that nolle process is basically them dropping the charges and it’s not a conviction for immigration. What do y’all think??

  12. So my hubby has his interview coming up in 2 weeks. I’m getting a few of his things ready and I notice that his passport last name is not spelled the same as his green cards. For example. His conditional and permanent resident cards are both spelled Hmoud as his last name. In the passport it is spelled Hammoud. Is this gonna cause any problems during his interview??? Will they just process everything underneath his green card spelling. Anyone went through anything similar???? I’m stressing out over everything I can’t wait for this to be over!!

  13. Hi everyone! So me and my hubby were going over a copy of the n400 application just getting ready for his upcoming interview later this month. And I noticed that I picked  filing under the 3 year rule just because it mentioned being married to a us citizen and whatnot..... so even tho we’ve been married for significantly longer will there still be extra scrutiny towards our marriage even tho he’s been here since 2010 and we’ve been married since 2007?

  14. 3 hours ago, Amadia said:

You do not have to stress over this. Please have him disclose this at his interview because they will ask if any convictions (arrested or not) were done.

We will bring the certified court papers to his interview. Do u know anyone who has gone through a similar situation?  It has been hard not to stress over it.

Is he filing based on the 3-year marriage exemption? If so, it is kind of important he proves his marriage to a US citizen -- especially if that marriage was conducted outside the US. The prudent thing to do in that circumstance is to get an original copy, or take compelling evidence explaining why he doesn't have the original. His birth certificate isn't as important, in my view.

So he’s filing the five year not three because we’ve been married 10 years already. So I see online that there are certified translators that can take your foreign document and translate and certify it in English for you. Since I don’t have an original certified copy of my marriage certificate how about I get my foreign marriage certificate translated and certified online?

hard to help you on this question because we don't know from which state you are, if you don't want to fill out your timeline I would suggest try to use google so you would know where to get or to do the certified copy of your marriage certificate.

We live in Louisiana. Married in Palestine. Marriage certificate is one from Palestine.

So my assumption is that you brought several certified copies of the marriage certificate with you.

I only have a copy of the certified marriage certificate. My dad was the sponsor for when we applied my hubby to come here on the cr1. Im for certain he sent all original certified copies when we first did the paperwork. Right now I just have a copy. Just some extra copies that my dad had copied himself in his office. Not an original certified. Just a photocopy of it.

No one actually gets the original of marriage certificates, birth certificates, death certificates, etc., as those are kept at the local clerks office.  The only thing we get are certified copies, so if you do not have a certified copy to take with you to the interview, you should get one.

    Good Luck!

We were married in Palestine. Where could I possibly get a certified copy from down here?

  19. 7 minutes ago, Going through said:

Depends on the officer, sometimes, I believe.

Normally, copies are ok for the marriage certificate, because logically they have already seen the original/certified copy when you did the AOS, and then received a second copy when you did the ROC (if you did the ROC, not sure if you entered on a K1 or CR-1 or whatever).  Just to clarify, when you say "copies" are you talking about certified copies or just "regular" photocopies made yourself?

For my interview the officer asked to see my original birth certificate.  Others haven't been asked for the birth certificate at all.

Its a copy of a certified copy..... yes I believe we sent them originals in the very beginning when we first applied for the cr1. On the uscis website it states to bring a copy of the marriage certificate as one of the items listed. But in the interview letter it states to bring originals of any copies we sent. So I don’t know. I don’t have an original. My marriage certificate is from overseas not the us.

  20. So on my husbands interview  letter it states that if copies of documents  were sent during n400 then we need to bring originals to the interview. I only have copies of our marriage certificate. I do not have an original. We also only have copies of his bc no originals of that either. Will this be a problem from everyone’s experience???

[1] You need to take all the records of the charge completely dismissed 7 years ago, if it  comes up anyway during interview.  Did you disclose the event in your N-400?

[2] Was the property damage action an accident or intentional ?

The dismissed charge from 7 years ago was disclosed in the n400 with court certified documents as well. This property damage was not disclosed because it happened AFTER the n400 was sent. It was definitely not intended. Somthing that just happened. A person was harassing my hubby outside my hubbys business and my husband out of frustration hit the mans side driver window to his car and it cracked.  He paid restitution to the man. He plead not guilty and the charges were dismissed when he payed the restitution. Now I’m just stresssing out about it and hope everything goes well.
