    Thanks!

Yes and yes. I actually got two separate appointment letters, one for the I-751 and the other for the N-400 (I know at least one other person on this forum who got the same). Both had the same place and time. I think the I-751 letter even referenced my N-400 application.

But regardless, I would highly recommend taking your spouse along with you. At worst, they are not needed and it's a wasted PTO day. For the initial green card application years ago, we had an attorney, and this was the parting recommendation we got back then regarding future removal of conditions.

The total interview time was about one hour. The first half was with my spouse and we walked the officer through the new evidence we had brought. The second half was just me for the N-400.

Thanks for info.  I agree, I will go with my wife  even though notice mentioned only n-400 interview.

So I had my combo interview. The officer was nice and the questions weren't hard. It's good to go with fresh evidence for the I-751, because I think some of it really helped validate our relationship. Do prepare for the civics questions using the booklet because the officer seemed happy to get responses that were straight out of the book. The English test seemed to be really just a literacy test. If you can post here on these forums and make yourself understood, you should be fine!

Congrats. Two questions 1) did ur appointment letter mention about combo interviews? 2) did u go to interview with ur spouse?

I wanted to add, if others from the Chatsworth office can chime in and give some feedback on time between appt notification and actual appt, I'd appreciate it.  I leave next Thursday for Europe, and since green card is also still pending, I HAVE TO BE at the interview as well.  It'd be nice to know if a month+- is the norm for time to wait once you've all be notified.

No update here. I751 August 2017 ( still pending) and N400 September 2018.

So here's the update. I got the stamp, but I have two pieces of advice based on my experience:

    1) Go with EVERYTHING. Yes, this probably includes the kitchen sink LOL. Or at least every travel document you have ever had in your entire life.

    2) Be calm. You have done everything right, obeyed laws, filed on time, etc. So don't get flustered, explain your situation calmly and clearly. Definitely no point getting upset over anything.

Thank you for advice,  Did they take you expired GC or let you keep it?, How long did they extend for?

Oh, good! Hopefully this will all be resolved for you soon! 🤞 It's hard having no driver's license for that long.

I have an update too. Since my local office does not schedule appointments anymore, I had to call. Thankfully, this time I got a call back really quick, so I should hopefully get things set next week.

Nice Did you get info pass appointment?

I cannot answer your specific question, but I would advise you to do whatever you can to get a stamp now. You may be "in status" even without a stamp or card forever, but you have no proof of this if you need to change your job or travel.

As for the N-400, what a mess. First I was advised that it could actually speed up the I-751, now I find the opposite is true 🤷‍♂️ And there is nobody left on these forums from our filing date to offer advice anymore.

Does you local office even do walk-ins anymore? Mine stopped abruptly. Now you have to call to get an appointment, and even that is a two-step process.

Hi, I am in the same boat as you, I live in southern California and office here do not take walk-ins.  I called to get a stamp on the passport (about three weeks ago)  but unfortunately, they can not schedule an appointment because it was two months before 18month expiration date. I will call in next week and schedule an appointment.

My husband had his N-400 interview today and it did not go well. The officer stated that because he had a pending I 751 that his N-400 could not be processed. The officer also stated that things were wrong with our paperwork but refused to state what was wrong. Has anyone else experienced this? My husband's status only lasts through May 2018 w/ the 18 month extension letter that we received.

    Applied for K-1 Visa 10/2014

    Received K-1 Visa - 2/2015

    Applied for AOC - 5/2015

    2 yr GC received - 11/2015

    Applied for ROC - 8/2017

    ROC RFE 9/2018

    Applied for N-400 - 8/2018

    N-400 interview scheduled for 2/26/2018

I am sorry to hear about experience. I had similar kind of situation happen to me during i485 process, officer said something is wrong with my application,  he did not approve i485 but he did approve i131. Then they scheduled second to interviews and approved i485.

  8. Here is my timeline,  I applied for I751 in Agust 2017 and N-400 in October (CSC). I received a letter stating that my status is valid 18 months after the expiration date.  In December I received a letter stating that NBC has jurisdiction over my case.

    1) Should I get my I661 stamp right now or wait till May when status actually expires? 2)  what's wait time for this kind of situation.
