Congrats! And your case had a lot of weird random things in it..Still no movement for me today...I didn't think my case had anything crazy about it that needed this much time.

Just guessing here but Im wondering if it has anything to do with priority dates? Ours was Jan. of 2018 so maybe it was pushed out quicker? When was yours ?

That may be the case. But in regards to the reference I read it in and the way the person used it gives me inidication that the OP might think others slipped through the net with much less scrutiny which is NOT the case. I fought for my K1 and I made sure I didn’t leave the Embassy without an immediate approval. I had a mere filling cabinet with me lmao 😂

Never thought that. And never even indicated I thought the system is lax. And for your information we also went in there with a “mere filing cabinet” and still was put into AP. Congrats you are very fortunate to have a positive outcome on your case. Hoping the same for us as well.

I'm confused. I thought cell phones were not allowed inside the embassies. We have an interview scheduled for early January in Dominican Republic. We were planning on leaving our cell phones home. Please advice

Im not sure about DR but in London there was a sign on the window that said to keep all cell phones turned off. So maybe bring it with you just in case but keep it turned off.

Mine updated straight away, but I’m not sure it means anything. Did they explain why, and give him a form? Was it for missing documents, or just general administrative processing (e.g. security checks)? Did they say it needs to go back to USCIS, as it could be administrative processing in London?

They said it was just to get another set of eyes to review his case. They never mentioned anything about USCIS but as of now the status Still says at London. Im hoping that it will change soon...

  5.      So my husband and I had our interview on Monday and let me start by saying; it wasn’t as easy and comfortable as some folks had said. We got to the Embassy and made it through security up to our designated floor for his CR1 interview. We sat down and the first gentleman who called us up was extremely lovely, making us feel positive and welcomed. So then we sat back down unknowingly right in front of what would be our next window. We sat, and we sat some more, while everyone with numbers after him were being called up. So we couldn’t help but notice the man behind the window directly in front Of us had my husbands ACRO so we knew this would be our guy. But at one point before we got to the window there were about 3-4 other officers looking at his documents, shaking their heads, pointing at the computer screen. We were obviously extremely worried something was wrong.

So finally he calls us up and has us swear underoath. There was a very stern looking woman sitting behind him who had never made eye contact with us so we weren’t sure if this was typical or not. He then proceeds to ask a series of maybe 15-20 questions to which i thought he answered exceptionally. So then he says “How have you and your wife been communicating while you’ve been apart” to which he answered by saying text messages, facetime and letters. So then the officer says “Well pull out your cell phone and show me then.” I think we were both kind of shocked but my husband got his phone out and easily handed it over  because we have nothing to hide. The officer then questions angrily why his phone is in airplane mode and why is your wifes name shortened(my name is Courtney and in his phone it said “Court”). He then scrolls through our text message history for about 5 minutes and eventually hands the phone back over.

So fast forward to the end of the interview and the stern looking lady hands our interviewer a 221g blue slip to which he gives to us, putting us in additional processing for “more review time”. Pretty much what im trying to get at is are cell phone checks actually allowed? I’ve never heard of this happening to anyone, and maybe this could serve as a warning to future couples that this is a possible. We left the Embassy a bit confused and devastated but still hopeful because they kept his passport.

  6. My husband also had his interview on the 17th and was given the 221g due to needing more time to look into his case. But on CEAC it still says our case is at London. Should it have changed into Administrative Processing already or should we give it a few days to see an update? They kept his passport so im hoping thats a positive sign as well?

  7. Adjusting status through previous marriage. Basically the relationship didn’t work out so he withdrew his visa and left. I don’t know anyone else that has re-entered if they truly had overstayed because they would have sent him back to the UK right then and there. We are in a very interesting situation so im just unsure of what to think

how long of a ban did he incur, if any?

if he has been able to re-enter the states, it would seem if there was one, it has since expired. these are things you need to know/find out.

It had been about a year from the time he left until he re-entered the states. To my knowledge there was never a ban because he entered with no problem at all and left within his 90 days. So im hoping they see this the same way?

Waiver for what? Depends on what the issue is.

Sorry forgot to mention. It would be for unlawful presence. Basically a few years ago he was adjusting status in the US and departed the states a few days after he withdrew his visa. He has reentered the states since then without a problem so it makes me think maybe he didn’t overstay afterall?

  10. So my husbands interview(cr1) isn’t until the 17th but Im wondering what the process is like if you have to get a waiver. I know i shouldn’t be paranoid about these things but Im wondering if anyone else had to go through that process (e.g. cost, how long it takes). I know its possible that they could request this so im trying to wrap my brain around all this now. It seems like everyone has been quite successful on here so im hoping it won’t happen. If anyone has gone through this pleass let me know :)

Not sure what type of visa u have applied for since ur timeline is not completed.

anyways, I would assume there would be delays in deliveries as the beginning of December lot more packages are being sent. I would imagine u can add 3 to 5 days on to the normal delivery times. Also, there will be 4 days without deliveries being made at all.

Thank you. Our visa is cr1

  12. Just got our email yesterday saying my husbands Interview will be on the 17th! Very excited/nervous/ hopeful that it will all work out. Curious as to if courier service over the Christmas period will be delayed/or lessened during this time? Cant believe its all happening...

Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:

    • Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. If you have a record of receiving pertussis, then the Td is okay for the booster.
    • MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella.  It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical.
    • Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK . A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. They will also waive the shot in the UK for "not routinely available". That works for spouse visas but not fiancés who could get the shot after POE and go to a civil surgeon to sign off.
    • Influenza - Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31.  If your medical is not during flu season, you don't need it.

    Thank you very much

  14. Sorry if this has been answered already but what exact vaccinations are needed for Knightsbridge? On some posts Ive seen just Td/Tdap, MMR, Influenza, and possibly Varicella? If you’ve never had either Hepatitis A/B jab and your over 18 do you still need to get it? Im a bit lost and tried reaching out to Knightsbridge but never got a response

  15. Hello, Basically I am wondering if I should proceed to book my medical without my interview date yet? All of our documents were documentarily qualified last week but Im not sure if I should wait to be given My cr1 interview date yet. Will my interview date be sent to us soon or should I just go for it and book the medical? Any thoughts? Thanks

nuch of that depends on the embassy and amount of interviews to do

i hope when you submitted that birth certificate, you put the case number and both names and both DOB's on it

otherwise someone has to search to even get it to the right case and the right person working on it

documents get lost by immigraiton when not labeled correctly

Im not sure about both our DOB’s being on his BC? Our lawyer submitted it through CEAC so im hoping if any of that was necessary, she would have done it.

In our case, we could not book the medical until we had the interview date letter from the consulate.

Thanks for replying! About how long was it from the time your docs were accepted until you got an interview letter?

  18. Hi there all,

This is my first time posting on here so apologies if this isnt posted in the correct place. But my husband is applying for a CR1 visa and we just recently submitted everything to NVC about 3 weeks ago. We had to resubmit another copy of his birth certificate so its been a little over a week since its been at NVC(every other form has been accepted yet that still says “submitted”). My question is how long approximately until we wait to hear something or to book a medical? This whole process has been extremely overwhelming and we hope theres a light at the end of this all. Thanks:)
