  1. Hi, I am a US Citizen (Los Angeles based) and my mother is currently here in the US. I am filing the following forms for her and I wanted to check for your insights with regards to the supporting documents/requirements I am submitting. I have consulted with an immigration lawyer and he has verified all my forms have been submitted correctly. Form I-130 - sponsor's naturalization certificate - sponsor's birth certificate showing beneficiary as mother - my parents are divorced and my dad has remarried, so I am including their divorce decree (Lake County, Illinois) - fee of $535 (personal check) Form I-485 - two copies of my mother's 2x2 photo - photocopy of my mom's passport (information page, stamped page when she entered the US) - photocopy of my mom's old passport as it has her US tourist visa in it. - my mother's birth certificate - I-94 for my mom - I-864 signed by me along with proof of income. (Tax docs: W2, 1040 forms from the past 3 years) - Fee of $1225 (personal check) I am also sending application for I-765 as advised so my mother can already apply for SSN if approved I am also sending G-1145 QUESTIONS: - Should I send a photocopy of all the pages of my mom's passport (even blank ones) - Should I be sending I-693 (medical) or wait til they request for it? How does the medical work? I did something similar with mine when my husband petitioned me, but I think I did medical at the same time. - I was planning on putting some sticky notes as description to some supporting documents like birth certificates, is that okay? Any other insights you can share with me? Thank you!
  2. It’s actually not in VJ but a resource I found through here. It’s an app called Just Answer - there’s diff kinds of professionals that you can consult of course with a fee for questions. It’s been really helpful for me because I would need the guidance in doing so.
  3. She said she wants to. Because she wants to have her own money and not always depend on us She's been a stay at home mom since forever. We will allow her to work or volunteer just so she has other stuff to do that gardening at home - probably 10-15 hours a week.
  4. Oh i didnt know Advanced Parole is free with AOS. I intend to do her EAD, so I can use her ID to apply for SSN for her so I can get her a California ID. My mom said she wanna try to work because she's been a stay at home forever and just so she doesnt get bored, we might just let her work few hours a week. She said she wants to have her own money as well
  5. I am in LA, and we have Medi-CAL. I used to be under Medi-Cal before I started working.
  6. the lawyer i consulted here in VJ said dont do I-131 for now, but yes on the I-693, this is the medical right? Tahnk you!
  7. Hi everyone! I am a US Citizen and my mother is currently here in Los Angeles. She was supposed to leave last August 31st, but my husband and I decided to have her stay and we just file for her petition and adjustment of status. I have consulted through Just Answer with an immigration lawyer on the forms that I need to file and some guidelines. I know the forms I need to submit are: I-130 I-485 I-864 I-765 G-1145 I am getting anxious given that the total filing fee is a huge amount, I want to make sure and get your inputs if this is really something that I can do on my own with seeking assistance from an Immigration lawyer. Thank you so much for those that will respond and please do share your own experiences.
