Today was my passport appointment. Now RPO said i need id proofs with surname bcz surname is mention on my passport but not on id proofs. Im stuck

Which RPO you are using? All Seva Kendra have maximum 7 days wait.

 

My experience was: New passport appointment at Phagwara next day, submitted everything, they send a police verification request, I got that sorted in 4-5 days, then they print & post my passport.

 

As soon as my passport is in my hands, i book PCC appointment for next day, tomorrow. In 40 minutes, I was given PCC.

RPO Chandigarh. My tatkaal passport appointment is on wednesday and police verification is already done. Can i get pcc next day from Phagwara or Hoshiarpur when new passport is in my hand or need to get from Chandigarh ?

US asks for PCC from RPO, Regional Passport Office. That PCC does not mention duration; has standard format; & will say xyz of abc passport has no criminal report or record.

 

The local police station PCC will mention that xyz living here from this date to this date. NVC does not accept this pcc, it will delay your case with about 3-4 weeks. Check the US Documents Website, Google US Documents Finder, Click I, then India, the go fown to section Police Records. It says same as what I said above.

 

RPO PCC will be issued by appointment on Passport Seva Kendra online booking, fees Rs 500. If living on same address as mentioned on Passport, then just go with passport. If passport was issued in India & less than 1 year ago & same address; PCC will be issued in few hours. If any of above three is not true, then RPO will send a police verification request to your current address, and PCC will be issued in 3-4 weeks. 

 

If PCC is taking too much time, send a simple written letter to NVC that this document will ve brought in at the time of interview.

On 26 september NVC asked for PCC as a missing document. I booked appointment for pcc but they said need to re issue passport with spouse name then i can get pcc. Passport appointment is taking so long and then need to book appointment for pcc. It will take many weeks. Wht should i do ?
