  1. Knock on the door at 7.30 this morning.........and now I have the visa!!!!

    I'm so happy :dance::dance::dance:

Oh, and the brown envelope is still totally sealed

    Hey there....

Congrats on getting your visa....you must be over the moon!! I was just wondering....did you pay for standard delivery? Or did you pay for it to get there quicker?

Thanks and once again CONGRATS!

I paid for delivery before 8am, because of getting to work!! I called them yesterday, to ask a question, to be told they had them already. The woman on the phone told me that there was little chance of it being delivered on a Saturday, though, as that is £30 more. Guess she was wrong.

I hope you receive yours soon. Maybe you should call tomorrow. They are open until 8pm apparently, so leave it until later. Do not press 3 though.......it just tells you to wait 5 days, then hangs up.

  2. Again, you can pretty much take any type of bag that will fit through those airport type xray belts. I had my handbag and two laptop-ish sized bags, both really heavy, because we thought me and hubby would be let in. He was carrying the heaviest...

When they said no USC's allowed, I had to take all three myself and they had no problem. I saw everything really, except suitcases...!

A lot of people had rucksacks, carrier bags, briefcases, small duffel bags etc.

    Good luck.

Thank you so much for the info. Well.........I am going to put all the stuff in a laptop bag, get ready for bed........and probably lay awake for hours, until right before I am due to get up - 5.30 - and be really, really tired tomorrow, fall asleep and miss my number.

I will let you know how it goes!

  3. Best of luck tomorrow, I am sure you will be just fine. Bring back another big APPROVED

I had my interview on Tuesday. You can take your phone as far as the entrance. They will store anything of an electronic nature in the security hut and give you a numbered tag to reclaim it after your interview. On Tuesday, USC's weren't allowed inside the Embassy.

Usually, it doesn't take too long. But on Tuesday I was in there for five hours. Poor hubby was left stranded outside with no idea how long he was going to have to wait.

Important thing is don't worry. Just sit patiently and wait for your number to come up. I was far too nervous to read anything so I just avidly watched the Argos style screens for the entire five hours....:lol:

Good luck and let us know how you get on...

Thank you for letting me know. Just asked on a different thread, but what type of bag are you allowed to take? I don't want to take a carrier. I was going to take a pull along hand luggage bag, so I don't have all that weight to carry, but I'm guessing that's not allowed.

  4. I was actually fine about it until I starting looking on here to see how everyone elses went and now I am pooping my pants!

My husband is coming with us, and I've read that USC have been turned away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fingers crossed all will go ok!

Good luck tomorrow. Bring back another big APPROVED

I am sure all will go smoothly. I had my interview in London on Tuesday and they would not let my husband in. They said it was a new policy as of Tuesday so he had to go amuse himself for five hours!! He said that it was really easy to spot most of the USC's in Grosvenor Square gardens anxiously watching the Embassy waiting for the UKC's to come out.

Let us know how you get on. Best of luck...

Did you take your mobile with you and what sort of bag did you have your papers in? They say not to take any large bags, but I don't want to turn up with a carrier bag.

  5. It's not just me then. I know there should be no reason we would get refused, but you can't help worrying. I also have seen that people have been approved and then their visa's don't come through for a while. I don't think I will stop worrying until I have them in my hand.

I hope it goes well for both of us tomorrow. Maybe I will see you there.

  6. Thanks!!

No i didn't send the police form, I got confused

Did you all just sit and wait after you sent back your pack 3's?

I guess they send you back an interview, you don't get a reciept for posting your pack back do you?

    Thanks

Don't worry about the PO Box thing. Mine was still saying that when I received my interview letter. The post office wasn't very helpful when I asked why it hadn't been signed for, just kept saying someone would pick up the mail from the PO Box, sign for it and then it would be updated. Didn't happen.

As for a receipt. No, you just get the letter with the interview date. Hope that helps some.

  7. I went through the K1 route and i had previously been married and divorced - I was able to get a copy of my marriage certificate from the courts here in Leicester, UK where I was married to my first husband - I took that along with my divorce decree at the interview - and well they didnt even ask for it all they wanted was the decree absolute - which is what I also sent a copy of when starting the petition originally. ( I thought it was best to have it with me at the interview just incase they wanted to see the paper trial of name changes and from a post I read here sometime ago saying they wanted to see the marriage certificate too. - my solicitor took the original when we did the divorce)

    Lina (UKC)

Thank you all for your help, it's great to have all this advice.

I am doing what you did, Lina.......ordered a new certificate, just in case. Probably won't need it, but I'd be happier knowing I have it anyway.

  8. Hoping for some advise. We are both previously divorced and got married last year. Looked at the check list from packet 3 and it seems that they possibly want my marriage certificate from my first marriage. I don't have it, solicitor took it when I got divorced. Called the State department and she said she didn't think I would need it, just the divorce decree.......not convinced. Thought maybe someone here would have gone through this and be able to give me first hand knowledge.

I guess it wouldn't be too hard to get hold of another copy, but don't want to if I don't have to. Not sure if my Husband would need his from his first marriage either......he also does not have it.

I will be so glad when this is over......but we are so close!!!

If anyone can help, I would be really grateful.

  9. I received the Affidavit of Support fee bill and a copy of the DS-3032 in the mail. What is all of this for? I assume that these have to do with the I-130s. NVC has already recieved the I-129F and we are currently in AR (sucks, really). Now we recieve this. Should we abandon the K-3 and see what happens with this stuff? What is the whole process once this information comes in? Do i start filling out an I-864 and send it off with the fee, or do they get the fee and then send me an I-864?

    Please help.

  10. Just wondered if anyone from UK has been through AR at NVC level, just so I can maybe get a timeframe. We are stuck there and have been for three weeks. God knows when we will get out.....

All I want is to have the forms sent to the US embassy in London so we can start the rest of the process. I thought when we got our approval we were nearly there.........how wrong.

  11. Our I-129F was sent to NVC on or about June 6, 2007. Since then, I have called several times, and the last couple of times, all they will tell me is that the petition is up for administrative review. What does "administrative review" mean? How long is this going to take? We have been at NVC for 3 weeks now. I have seen that some make it through in a few days. Please help. Worried and losing my mind.

Unfortunately, AR sometimes happens. It will take as long as it takes. In the meantime you're in a black hole.

You might have a clue why. Perhaps its a sensitive occupation or a really common foreign name that got a hit.

don't have any clue. my wife and i have never been anything close to a criminal. our last name is extremely common. that is the only thing that i can think of. the problem is, it is not just her and i that this will effect. their are children involved, and the longer this goes on, the less time there is to make a stable life for them prior to the start of school. hope NVC doesn't take forever. What is scary is that i think that USCIS had to do the same thing, and it took forever to get processed. now NVC is at it. what happens when the Embassy comse into play? sorry, just venting at this point.

  12. Our I-129F was sent to NVC on or about June 6, 2007. 13. We recently had our I-129F approve, as well as the I-130s. We have received the NOA2, and we know that the case is with the NVC. Trouble is, we do not know much else. I received a letter that was signed "Bureau of Consular Affairs" stating that the case was received by NVC and in a week it would be sent off to the Embassy in London. However, when i called NVC, the said that they still have it and we will eventually know when it has reached the UK, but will not specify how we will know, other than we my wife will eventually receive packet 3.

How did some of y'all find out where your cases were at this stage of the process? Will we receive any notices? We could use some help in understanding this stage of the process.

  14. Has anyone here that filed in January-February timeframe out of Vermont Service Center seen any changes to their case status? It would appear as though Vermont has come to a halt.

We have checked to see if we had any RFEs, and as it turns out, we do not have any coming to us, but all they would say about the case is that it is "up for review" and we would be receiving an answer shortly. I am to the point where I want to pull my darn hair out (if i had any).

If anyone has seen a noticeable trend that mmaybe some of us have missed, please let me know. thanks.

  15. How'd you get in touch with them? Which number did you call? I'm hesitant to say anything because from my experience, and this board, USCIS helpline has been pretty unhelpful in actual case status (besides from what you can see on the website).

if you call the customer service line, go through the motions about RFE, put in your receipt number, you will ultimately get a hold of a person in vermont. simply ask if there was an RFE sent out, and they will tell you yes or no (maybe). i have called that number before and have talked to folks that were less helpful than the customer service line. it is the luck of the draw, really. they can only give basic info, so calling them will not get you all of the answers that you may have. like i said.. all i was able to find out was that there were no RFEs, and that the case was "up for review". sometimes, you can apparently do this and they will say that the case was approved and such, even though there was no status change on the USCIS website. however, if you simply ask what the status is, they won't tell you. i know that this is not much help, but it is better than nothing.
