Hey! I'm wondering if you guys ever figured this out? I actually just moved to Wheaton and need to go to the DMV to renew my license soon with the i-751 extension. Please let me know! The dmvs in the city gave me a really hard time getting my license to begin with

Go to the DMV in Schaumburg. We went to the Wheaton DMV at first but they didnt accept the extension letter. Go to the Schaumburg DMV

Does i 751 has any questions related to obamacare or public charge? If not then you will be fine as long as you are getting insurance through your employer unless they dig deep and find it.

It doesn’t count as public charge. It doesn’t say so under the USCIS website and not included under the new Proposal thru Trump. I just want to know other peoples experience with it

I thought that if you can get insurance through your employer, you cant use obamacare.

I was still able to. They ask where you work and how much you make.

What exactly do you mean by Obamacare?  The creation of access via exchanges?  Some sort of subsidy?  A penalty if you don't have minimum required coverage?

  6. Will this affect ROC? Has anybody experienced this? I have read under the USCIS website and under the new proposal that Obamacare is not considered Public Charge. I do see rumors though yet again people like to spread false information and blow things up in proportion. Don’t trust your sources unless it’s from USCIS or the DHS. Me and my wife was under Obamacare back in 2017 when she first moved here. I had a full time job but I didn’t enroll our health insurance thru my employer (looking back I should’ve). We now have insurance thru my employer btw. Any thoughts?? https://www.uscis.gov/legal-resources/proposed-change-public-charge-ground-inadmissibility

Does anyone know how this would affect immigrants who are on Obamacare? I am on my husband's Obamacare (after checking with our lawyer that it would be okay, as I wasn't sure about the public charge rule, and he said yes because it's not a cash benefit). Would this affect my pending I-485 or only future citizenship? Would I need to get off Obamacare and then it would be fine? It seems kind of crazy to just change the rule that people were following and then punish them for breaking that rule?

  8. My wife tried to renew her drivers permit and apply for a state id with her expired GC and extension letter at the Wheaton location but they wouldnt accept the document. I called the state DMV and they said it depends on the location on whether they will accept the document or not. Does anyone know which Illinois location will accept the I751 extension letter?
