  1. You must be there if it's a combo interview. Most probably they will start with you alone and then bring your wife in and let you go for the N400 part. I didn't have combo but had the i751 and my husband (US citizen) was interviewed for 40 minutes before me. So be sure to review all the submitted documents specifically any trips outside the country with exact days. You never know who is going to do the interview. We were there for hour and 20 minutes. Good luck 🤞
  2. Update: we met our trainer and told him we're married and that I'll have my citizenship interview on Monday and that we need the day off and he was happy for me and it's not big deal for the day off. I said is not nice to have to ask for a day off on the first day i meet you and he laughed. Thank you all for your help! 🤞🙌👏
  3. Thank you guys for your comments!! I had my i751 approved a couple months ago. We both were interviewed for a total of 1 hour and a half! And i wouldn't like to make my husband ask for the day off at his job ( because he is just starting that same week) and then they won't need him or let get in the building because of covid. 🤔😐 Did you have combo interview??
  4. Hi JKLP, thanks for sharing your experience. i just found your post because i am looking if i have to bring my spouse to the n400 interview. Seems like you didn't. Did you applied with the 3 years rule?? I am very confused now as if i can go by myself since my husband has to work. Thank you for your help
  5. You're right.the letter doesn't says to bring your spouse anywhere. I always read before it was good to bring him anyways at least to say hi and say his name. It's absolutely a must when is a combo interview. Thank you for your help!!!
  6. Most probably they will send us to different departments after the training. Already have i751 approved some months ago. We were interviewed for almost hour and half so they pretty much knows everything about us. I was almost positive my husband has to go at least to show his neck there. Now you say they most likely not allowed him in the interview? He will kill me if i make him go for nothing 😂
  7. So meanwhile I asked someone that referred us from inside the company and she asked around for us as well and told me to just go there in our first day and tell the manager and they won't have a problem with that and with knowing we are a married couple. She said is not a big deal. We applied for the same role separately and were never asked for marital status. I think they can't ask that when hiring We just didn't say it yet to anybody besides who referred us who knows me from a past job. Thank you all for your help!
  8. Hi Dashinka! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me. I really appreciate your thoughts. I am pretty sure this company will understand that too. It's just uncomfortable having to ask for a day off when we haven't even started. And as my husband he must go with me because i applied my n400 based on marriage. The uscis office is almost hour and a half away and the interview is at 10.30am and the shift is 7am to 3.30pm so it's right in the middle, will see what the manager has to say. As for now will keep my fingers crossed!! Thank you again!
  9. Good morning everyone! My husband and I had been hired at a big company (top 10 best place to work in the US). Our start day for training will be Monday July 11th. Everything is all set to start including signed agreements, background checks, etc I got yesterday in the mail my USCIS n400 interview letter NOA saying my interview will be Monday July 18th. So i couldn't even get too excited because now we are going to have to say something at the new job and I do not think is very nice to be asking for a day off when we didn't even started. And i thought you guys can give me another opinion on this. Even when i think it could be a good reason to reschedule USCIS i think is always better to try first move my own schedule before asking for USCIS to reschedule seeing how apparently that's a lottery. And i am at this very last step and don't want to ruin it. My husband don't want to ruin his new job either so we are discussing these 3 ideas: 1) to send an email to our new manager (that we haven't even met yet) explaining everything 2) to ask human resources who had been dealing with us all the time to see what they think or if they want to push our start date 3) to wait on first day of training and say it there in person that we need next Monday off. Either way we still never said we are a couple. We got same shift schedule and we would like to keep that as well. I know! Not everything can be JUST easy right? Thanks a lot everybody for reading. Have a nice day and best luck!
