FINALLY!!! Here as well,
AP ordered 01/30
EAD ordered 01/31
It's about friggin time! Pheew! Cutting it a little close with AP, our wedding ceremony in my home country is scheduled for March
-
Congratulations to all who got their approvals!! That's so wonderful!!
We haven't heard anything from any of the papers, no touches since Jan 13th, and that must've been someone dropping the papers on the floor and picking them up
-
Congratulations to all who recived their APs and EADs. WTG!!
How did you get to know they were approved? Did the status online change first, did you get a CRIS e-mail, or just a note in the mail?
My BIO was Dec 20th and still not even touches on AP or EAD.
-
Just an update:
12/28/2007 - Biometrics
12/31/2007 - EAD and 131 Approved
Congrats on the approved!! My BIO was 12/20, but no change in EAD or 131 status
However, our AOS was transferred to CSC 01/03
No letter yet, or e-mail, just an update on USCIS website.
EDIT: Just got an e-mail from CRIS too
-
zzzonzo Great that you're keeping such a great list of our progress, and I'm sorry not to have come out here and say my BIO appointment is 12/20/2007. So you can now add that to the list. Thanks so much for keeping us all posted

I don't want to start another thread, so I'm asking for a little info on this one...
My husband and I just visited the local SSA and I was able to apply for a SSN, but ONLY with my maiden name. We presented them with the passport + K-1-visa + I-94 + birth certificate (all with my maiden name) and our marriage certificate (in order to apply with my married name).
The clerk said she couldn't enter my married name, until after I get my GC, because my married name isn't validated or something for INS. Isn't marriage cert enough?? I need the SSN, so I agreed to use my maiden name, but I am married and want to be known by my husband's name.
Can I use my married name anywhere now? I have to open an account, I have to be added to my husband's insurance and what not. We filed the AOS under my married name, but since the basic information = SSN is under my maiden name, will it make things more difficult?

Marlon and I will be right beside ya! We are mailing everything tomorrow! Congrats on mailing yours!
Thanks, good luck to you too on your way
And on another note, we only mailed 2 photos...
-
We're hopefully November filers. We sent out papers out today Nov 20th. Too bad Thanksgiving is upon us in a few days, so nothing will happen all week, I'm sure So if need be, we'll be moving to/starting a December thread
-
Congratulations to Eka & Pyrrhic on your marriage and everyone else on their progress, interview dates and approvals. We actually made it, altho at times it seems it would never happen
We still have to wait for little over 3 weeks before my work allows me to travel to US and a week after that we've scheduled our first wedding
And here's for all of the upcoming interviews
-
Great news here! Congrats to all of you who got the interview dates, and those who already got their visas... WTG US ALL
And those who are still waiting, just be patient, as you've been so far. Your time will come too!!
-
I'm very sorry to hear that. I know you don't need this now, but in my point of view, it's better this way, thinking of what happened earlier on as well. You will find someone much better, altho it might be too soon to think like that now.
All the best on your journey and I am sure you will find the special someone who is worthy of you
-
Thank you so much for your congratulations everyone It now feels like a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders.
rambaldi: Our interview in the Finnish consulate wasn't exactly a model-case. I think it was because they allowed my SO to be present at the interview, which, first of all, took place in the waiting room, second, by a Finnish person and in Finnish!!! (Luckily, or in purpose, the waiting room was empty by then)
The questions she asked me then, were:
1. When and where did we meet (followed by talk of how communications and meeting have changed:online etc.)
2. Asked if the man sitting behind me was my fiance
3. Asked about our future hometown
4. Asked why we decided to get married in US instead of Finland (followed by talk about how stupid it was to change the CR-1-process
5. My profession, SO's profession
6. Checked out fiance's I-134 and said he seemed to be well-to-do... (I had no idea if that was a question, so I kept quiet )
And that's that. No need for photos or e-mail etc. (Altho we had all of those just in case)
-
Sorry to report this so late, but since my fiance was here with me, I kinda forgot
My fiance and I had the interview in the Finnish Consulate last Wednesday (Sept. 5th) and got approved the same day (I know, I will update the timeline ... )
I'm now officially a K-1 visa holder, and will soon be travelling to marry my sweeteheart and start our life together.
Visajourney has been a great help to us. And I wish all of you, our fellow April-filers best of luck and may your turn come soon
-
I'm glad I found our brothers in arms here. I just got a mail from the Embassy, our interview is scheduled for Sept 5th.
As it happens, my SO is here that week... WooooT!!!
I undestood that it is allowed for him to join me in the interview, right?
Anyway, about our timeline, we got our NOA2 July 27th, took about a week to go to NVC, another to be sent to Finland. Embassy here responded in a few days from when they received it, with package 3. They move fast here
-
Karin und Otto, pushbrk: Thank you so much for clarifying it!! And thank you for the well-wishes too
We are, indeed, in the K-1 process, just before the Emabssy interview, so it is the former form we are talking about.
Thanks again
-
A friend of mine is also applying for a K-1 visa and her fiance had asked for the I-134 (Evidence of support form) from an immigrant officer, who told him that the I-134 is a "Mickey Mouse one" and she/he wrote a "better one".
What are people's experiences with I-134? I didn't even know there were other forms applicable. And why would they still insist on using I-134 if it is such a joke?
-
Wooot! Congrats to all who were approved!!
-
NOA2!
Add us to the July 27th approval blitz from CSC!
GO GO!
~ Eka
WOOOOOT!!! Congrats!!!! I knew it!
RosemarieL: Great job with the list. Looking at it, CSC was only maybe 3 weeks slower (in our case) than VSC, so it's not that bad that we lived across the river for filing in VSC
-
Grats Kittybear! That is awesome news! Did you get an email or just see a change of status on the website?
~ Eka
Thank you!!! Well, we got a legit touch on 27th, but no change in status, according to the USCIS site. I woke up in Europe this morning, checked out touches/status = no change. In the afternoon, Europe-time I checked again, and first noticed the touch on 28th (Saturday!!!) and then checked the status, it said approved on 27th!!
When I checked my e-mail, sure enough, there was an e-mail from CRIS. So I'm 100% sure yours isn't that far away...it might be approved already!!
Thanks everyone for the congrats!!
Your time is near, I'm sure of it !!!
-
Well what 4 then? maybe more that we haven't heard from yet. :):)
Wioombeen
We're joining the relieved choir. We were approved on 27th, but the website didn't show the approval until today... We're so terribly happy, and I will update our timeline. And we wish speedy approval to everyone who still haven't received it. It will come, very SOON!!!!
-
Us too. Our NOA1 was dated April 9th, still nothing
-
I can't believe we don't have our NOA2 yet...
We have the same timeline, our NOA1 was dated April 9th. And we haven't received our NOA2 yet either. I wonder if we are the only couples with the same timeline who haven't
-
For those who missed it before. :):)
I see you got your NOA2. Congrats!!!! We got our NOA1 at the same time as you did too, so here's to selfish hoping!!
And I hope all of us who are waiting for their turn get approved!!!
-
Hmm.... ranting has helped some people, so I might give it a go...
We want our NOA2 NOW!!!! CSC wake up and smell the roses!! If we don't get our NOA2 soon, I'll huff and puff and hold my breath until I turn all blue!!!!
There!! That seems to be pretty threatening...
NOVEMBER AOS FILERS
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

I got my EAD card last week in mail. However, my AP was approved the day before, and I haven't received it yet. Is that normal, or should I contact someone ASAP or wait for it to come? It's been 2 weeks since the approval. We are getting ready to get tickets to fly back to Finland for our wedding ceremony, and I should have the papers on hand by then
Or can I just use the e-mail that it's been approved going out of the country?
