  1. Hello. I am petitioning for my mother to live in the USA. I am a US citizen. I read the guide on this website and am unsure on a couple things: - Will my mother's birth certificate be needed at the I-130 stage? She does not have one at the moment. Will it be needed at the NVC stage? What options are available if she cannot get a birth certificate made? Home country is India. - Does my mother need to make a passport now? - What other evidence do I need to submit with an I-130? From what I have gathered is that I just need to show my birth certificate. - As I begin to submit an I-130, what documents should my mother be prepping? I am asking questions regarding evidence because I came to the USA under a spousal visa and I know my husband submitted tons of evidence to show that our marriage was legit. Do I have to provide tons of evidence that she is my mother? Photos, letters, etc.? Just want the process to go as smooth as possible! Thank you
  2. I interviewed and passed at the Philadelphia office early April 2023. I still have not received a ceremony date. Online it says “Oath ceremony will be scheduled.” How much longer will this possibly take?
  3. They are unmarried right now. How does that change the process if they get married while the application is pending? Thank you for the information everyone. I had no idea siblings took so long, that is unfortunate.
  4. Her siblings are 28 and 21. What is the benefit in her petitioning for her siblings AND her mother petitioning for her siblings? Thanks for the informative. A lot longer as in 3-5 years? More?
  5. I apologize if these are basic/redundant questions but I just wanted to start a new thread so I could communicate directly with replies. My wife just became a citizen after going through naturalization. She would like to bring her mother and two brothers over to the USA from India. I believe we have to start with I130. Does a I130 have to be completed for each person or is there a such thing as one petition to bring her whole family over? Does it make sense for her to petition for everyone or just her mother first? Then once her mother is a citizen, have her petition for her siblings? I (spouse) petitioned for my wife to come to the USA and the entire process took about a year. Is this the same timeline to expect for her family to come here? Thank you.
  6. We got the extension letter last week! Thank you everyone. Crazy Cat, in your signature, it states "August 7, 2022: Uploaded request for combo interview". I was not familiar with submitting a request to do this - what form is that?
  7. Thank you for the information. I did not put in an inquiry. Is that done online or via a phone call?
  8. My wife sent in her I751 in July of 2021. We received her I-797 NOA confirming receipt and 24 month extension shortly after. She had her biometric appointment in August 2021. Since then, we have not heard anything. When I check the status online, it says that the case is ready to be scheduled for interview since March 9th, 2022. We also filed N-400 shortly after and the status of that just shows as in-process and "things are taking longer than expected". I am a little worried because her green card will expire in September 2023 even after the extension. Is this normal?
