  1. Congratulations to those who attended/scheduled for the oath ceremony!

I wanted to update you all that I just got the interview rescheduled notification today. Not sure when the exact date will be as nothing has been updated to the document tab yet. But I assume it will be a month from today per the usual pattern. I wrote to the state senator and my local district congressman to intercept regarding my November interview cancellation so maybe that's why it got rescheduled quicker than I thought. I'll make sure to keep you all posted for updates!

In that case I would just go to the interview, specially in the event that your case status did not change on the website. What’s the worst that could happen? They send you back?

I don't know if I should still go... I just logged into the dhs website and found the de- scheduled letter in the documents tab. I guess that means the interview is indeed cancelled just like the officer said even though my online status hasn't changed.

Any updates from USCIS? Did you get to speak to someone?

Yes. I was able to speak to an officer. The officer couldn't see the reason why it was cancelled and couldn't tell me when it would be rescheduled. She did confirm there's no need to go to the interview anymore as it is indeed cancelled. I'm so disappointed...

This could be because of the wildfires in NorCal which are impacting the Bay Area due to heavy smoke. I know classes are being canceled at state universities etc. Not sure if there is anything you can really do at this point. Your best bet is to call up USCIS and ask what is going on.

I was thinking about that too. Otherwise it could not have been that rushed. On hold with USCIS now! The fire needs to stop asap!!

I would try to have all if you can find his parent's certificate. If not, passport and an explanation would probably fine. Maybe have a copy of parent's passport too just in case?

    Good luck!

Thank you so much for replying back to me @Choviwan! We're trying our best to locate the certificate now. Hopefully it's not lost =( Worst thing worst we'll just have to explain it. Congrats to you again!!

  6. I wanted to consult with you all regarding the "Your spouse's birth or naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship" that the interview invitation letter indicates. My spouse became a citizen through his parent when he was a minor. The parent was naturalized in the 2000s. The N400 interview letter indicates to bring a proof of citizenship of my spouse but he only has his expired and current passports. No certificate of citizenship. Would the passports suffice as a proof or we should bring a copy of the parent's naturalization certificate as well? I'm just not sure if we could locate it since the parent has moved several times. It is very possible that it was lost during the moves...

  7. I filed my N400 as a spouse of citizen. Hopefully we'll be able to locate it... Please advise. Thank you!

Almost. It went all the way to 1 day and then got an email that interview is scheduled. Document today indicated its scheduled for Nov 14th.

Wow how lucky! My countdown has ended a while and it has been showing this message that the case is taking longer than expected... I filed on 11/19, just two days after you. Hopefully I'll receive good news soon!

Just got an email saying that they have scheduled my interview and sent out the notice by snail mail. Logged in to USCIS account and don't see the interview letter yet.

Looks like it takes almost one year to schedule an interview by USCIS filed office.

Congrats! I'm a November filer too but still waiting for mine. Maybe it takes longer for combo interviews to be scheduled.
